Description
1970s rear-engined Czechoslovak family sedan
Škoda 110 L was a rear-engined sedan produced in Czechoslovakia between 1969 and 1977. The car was similar to its famous predecessor Škoda 1000 MB, but got a more modern look and safer braking system. Designed to survive potholed and unpaved roads, it had a fully independent suspension using a double wishbone in the front and a swing axle in the rear. A fully-synchronized four-speed gearbox and front disc-brakes were a standard. The "L" in the name stood for "de luxe". It included special seats which could be folded into a bed and other useful accessories.
With an identically-looking Škoda 100, more than a million units were built and it became the first car of many Czechoslovak families. The cars were prone to rust but could be easily maintained and repaired at home.
This mod is a detailed replica of an early 1972 Škoda 110 L which belonged to my grandma. The car served well more than 30 years.
A louder rally version can be found here.
Realism note
The axles are approximated as close as possible to the real car using technical blueprints from repair manuals. The force-feedback strength should be set approximately to 30-50, because it had a heavy worm-and-roller steering, which had considerably less self-centering effect than a rack-and-pinion steering (despite larger caster value). The top speed for each gear is marked on the dashboard.
The mod is suitable for cruise and an entry level rally-cross. Keep in mind that the car had a higher center of gravity than modern cars. With a rear-wheel-drive, 60% of the mass in the back and a swing axle, it is prone to lift-off over-steer and even to flipping-over when driven aggressively. However, early braking and little throttle through the whole corner should be enough to stay out of trouble during a high-speed cornering.
An optimal tire pressure (according to a manual) is 140-160 kPa in the front and 180-200 kPa in the back. Note that tires in LFS have more grip than historic tires and less pressure can cause flipping of the vehicle during cornering. To preserve the mod realism when creating a personal setup, please do not use camber adjustments for the rear wheels (swing axles do not have this option IRL).
The mod includes two stock setups with different tires. The first one is made entirely for AI drivers, because they are not accustomed to stock historic vehicles and are not able to drive the mod with road tires.
Special thanks
I would like to thank to my family for a detective work about the specification of the grandmas car. I would also like to thank to some very nice people from Škoda Auto a.s. who helped me to get an official license for this mod and to w126 and Flame CZE for a discussion about a realistic approximation of the rear axle.

Included Skins
Skin Templates Kit
The LFS Vehicle editor provides options to create skin templates. A template helps you create skins for a vehicle by giving you the outlines of the vehicle's shape, within which you can draw the livery that will be drawn onto the vehicle.
There are 4 types of templates:
- Shaded skin template
- Black and white skin template
- White background wireframe template
- Black background wireframe template
No skin templates kit has been provided by the creator of this vehicle mod.
