Description
1950s legendary slow car from France
The Lemon Duckling was a small budget car designed in 30s and manufactured from 40s to 90s. The car was famous for its unique design and suspension and soon became a French icon. The suspension was designed to be able to drive over a plowed field without breaking eggs in a basket.
This mod is based on an early super-slow "ripple bonnet" and "umbrella" models and a lap around Blackwood can take a couple of hours. Despite that, these cars were a popular base for a cheap race cars. There was a wide range of available modifications, from cheap basic race cars, through fast 24-hour specials, endurance rally cars and 4x4 crawlers. Therefore the car was made mainly to have a fun with LFS physics and to provide a base for some future racing mods.
Realism note
The IRL car has an extraordinary suspension where a special link between front and rear wheels enables an extremely soft suspension. Combined with 15° caster, it is almost impossible to roll over (without some terrain obstacles) despite ridiculous tilt during cornering. Tried to approximate this using a linear front suspension + extended suspension travel + slightly smaller 15 inch wheels (used on later models IRL).
Making derivatives
This mod was made as a base for some future racing mods. If you are going to make one, please do not make sleepers and follow IRL specifications (for example https://www.autosport.com/nati ... ikeliest-race-car/8082299)
