Description

early 1970s rear-engined Czechoslovak 1150cc A2 rally car
Škoda 110 L Rallye was a successful RWD rear-engined race-car produced in Czechoslovakia between 1970 and 1977. Based on Škoda 110 L it got strengthened axles, shortened springs, adjustable shock absorbers, shortened gear ratios, more robust engine, and other additional racing equipment (clocks, lights, seats, frame etc.). The fuel tank was enlarged, overall weight reduced and the engine produced 73 hp. Cars from a factory were ready to compete in the A1 class.

However, it could be pushed further and in both Eastern and Western Europe the car became a popular base for 1150cc A2 builds. The factory engine could be tuned up to 115 hp using a twin-carburetor conversion in combination with an increased compression ratio. Driven by skillful drivers, such as legendary John Haugland, the little Škodas excelled on rally stages all over Europe. The car was later replaced by faster Škoda 120 S Rallye and legendary Škoda 130 RS

Realism note

The mod represents an early 1970s rally car. The mod specifications and tire size is based on a factory car with a twin-carburetor conversion and an increased compression ratio. Axles are approximated as close as possible to the real car using technical blueprints from repair manuals. The force-feedback strength should be set approximately to 30-50.

The car is suitable both for track and rally. It can compete with XFG on slower tracks. To preserve the mod realism when creating a personal setup, please do not use camber adjustments for the rear axle. Swing axles did not have this option IRL.

Special thanks

I would like to thank to very nice people from Škoda Auto a.s. who helped me to get an official license for this mod.
