Yeah true, sort of. I mean, as we can see it doesnt really needs a trainer screaming at the players all the time to be successful (*fingers crossed*) However, a good fight from both teams though.

Quote from Stefani24 :Im using ingame either 50 or 55 ffb and in the profiler i use 100% on all 3, and no center spring.

spring & dumper effects are already simulated by lfs as far as i know so theres no need to use them in the controller config especially not with such a high value. But if you prefer it that way, matter of taste i guess.

MRT: 270°

Regarding the rest under "gamecontroller settings":

Quote from zsmy :a replay analizer for mpr is in my opinion wanted .
even to find some short speed hack pushes .
tham not to find normaly , only if they use it directly .
i think at moment some use this by scripted shifting .
than its not to see that fast . only the fast rise up rpm after shifting for 200-300rpm .
found by luck 2 of that fast rising up 200-300rpm , using speed hack too ,
if they thought non is watching tham .
(i have the replays if wanted)

i dont get it

according to this:

HLVC_UNKNOWN, // 0 - unknown return value
HLVC_OK, // 1 - ok
HLVC_NOT_FOUND, // 2 - replay file not found
HLVC_FUTURE, // 3 - replay from later version
HLVC_OBSOLETE, // 4 - replay from obsolete version
HLVC_NOT_HOTLAP, // 5 - replay file not marked as a hotlap
HLVC_NOT_DEMO, // 6 - LFS not unlocked and track not available in demo
HLVC_NO_TRACK, // 7 - could not load track
HLVC_NO_HLVC, // 8 - no HLVC best lap in header
HLVC_CORRUPTED, // 9 - corrupted or invalid file
HLVC_OOS, // 10 - replay went OOS - probably hacked LFS
HLVC_NO_MATCH, // 11 - real lap time does not match lap time in SPR header
HLVC_FAIL, // 12 - HLVC violation - could be that HLVC rules changed
HLVC_END, // 13 - replay ended before best lap was finished

Source

this should not be possible any longer.

Quote from Ian.H :Damn, even 1 new (and I mean new, not regurgitated) track and a few bug fixes would probably keep me happy for a while. I don't want it all tomorrow, I do understand things take time.. but _something_ soon would be nice after waiting so long.

And very soon you would start moaning again about things you dont have the slightest clue about or things that are not worth moaning about. It also seems that you prefer to compare the incomparable or trying to make sense out of nonesense. Ignoring me doesn't help your case either but after all im not too keen anymore to discuss that with you in detail because you would simple ignore me again at some point, for some reason or another.

So, whatever.

Quote from Ian.H :I damn well hope it does! This is _the_ problem. LFS is _not_ a hobby / "something to do for fun".. it's a commercial enterprise.. they're charging for their product. Once you do that, it _is_ a job and no longer "for fun".

I used to code web sites for fun. The moment I started charging for sites and turning it into a business, was the day I had an obligation to my customers to perform a certain way (ie: quality and speed).

The sooner the devs, and 90% of the community realise that, the better. We might, just might, see some forward progress instead of side stepping and dancing around in stupid circles.

Regards,

Ian

See, there's the catch. While your buisness may require regulary updates im unable to see that this is the case at the devs team. Im simple unable to see any evidence that this project is dependent at any kind of regularity, may it be for qualitative, quantitative, timeframe and surely not for request/ demand related reasons. In that case, and please correct me if im wrong, we would end up with a NFS alike clone or something and we would have to pay like 50 bugs to get an updated version each year or so. Maybe the game engine is beeing used for several years and only content/ storyline has changed or maybe you'll get something entirely new that is so different that you cant really use it the way you'd prefered it once. No major patches, no new content, nothing. I prefer the way of the devs simple because it allows them to stick to their own ideas and inspirations without the need or fear for external influences, at least not to the extend like in regularly companies.

This is the way i think its beeing handled and maybe i am wrong. I dont know but lots of stuff is backing this theory up for me and so im sorry if thats all just bs im typing here. However, without actually having a clue at all im not even trying to put myself into a position that implies that i am, unlike you Ian.

Quote from Ian.H :
Yeah? If you think adding foreign languages is progress, when the likes of aerodynamics, engine modelling, turbo modelling are nothing but bad jokes, then good for you, you must be easily pleased.

This statement of yours is a perfect example of how you're judging the situation while actually knowing...jack shit. Do you think the devs revealing everything? Every step of development or progression? I really doubt that. Do you actually have any idea about what it takes to make a sim like this? Getting it as realistic as possible while at the same time dealing with the exponential growning demand for all the details? I dont know all the stuff as well but if im just looking into all those technically based threads where stuff is beeing discussed over pages or simple play the game im able to get and idea about it. Failing to see that and ignoring the effort behind it is just disrespectful and arrogant.

For me it became clear a long time ago that LFS is going its path the way the developers think it should be (hint: SRT interview with Victor). If adding features and fixing hundreds of bugs to make this product more stable and more useable for further development has a higher priority then adding content en mass then so be it. I dont mind how long it takes since i know that this concept or approach is different and the team consists only out of three people (leaving the community out of the equation but if you have a look at the exit screen you'll get an idea about who is involved as well). I dont mind about the content either, something is on its way, sooner or later, i guess. If you are unable to hold your horses then this is certainly the wrong game for you and you're free to play something else and dont worry about your money thus im sure has been payed off by now.

Also, comparing this team with a usual buisness is bare nonesense. Of course they need money for a living but if it would be only for that then we wouldn't have to have such a discussion. Instead people would moan about a product, which maybe had tons of content and most of the stuff that people demand would be available rather quickly but im sure that there would be a huge lack of quality.

Anyway, i have my doubts that you're actually understanding what im talking about or even willing to do so and im sick of the smattering by people like you, regardless of the actual topic.

Im not here to defend schumi or anything. I just want to mention that some people tend to reduce schumi on a few incidents. Most of them know nothing else about him then a few youtube videos or some comments from questionable websites and such. How he actually evolved and tried to make the best out of himself and the given tools is beeing kept out of the equation for some reason or another.

In germany there is a comedian and he once said: "If you dont know jack shit, just shut up". (roughly translated)

Victor, would it be possible to have two buttons inside a graph making it possible to use the mouse wheel either for zooming or scrolling? Or maybe like in the replay analyser where you can mark a specific area which then will be zoomed in while the mouse wheel remains for scrolling only?

Also, would auto scroll be possible so the timeline could be visible at all time?

Maybe the zoom of the top right view could be a bit bigger as well?

The information that comes along with each graph like speed, rpm and so on inside the grey bar is a bit too small and the contrast making it really hard to read. I tried several screen resolutions with my CRT monitor and my laptop. Im wondering if im the only one with this "problem".

In the overview above the g-meter there is the speed, gears and RPM. I think putting those together would be quite helpful for easier and quicker comparison. Maybe just like you've done it with the split times already?

Ok ok, im out of suggestions, for now! :nerd:

Edit: As for the tool itself and all the improvements i adhere to my previous statement.

Quote from Dajmin :Man, I can't believe so many people have flamed me for what I said.

So what kind of reactions did you expected? Your reasoning is getting more and more absurd, really. Preconceptions and generalisations seem to be unavoidable when talking about this topic on this very forum for some reason. Not the mention the blunt insults and provocations by some people every now and then.

Quote from Dajmin :
Okay, it's not ALL oval racers, but the ones in LFS are notorious for it. A while back there was hardly a week went past without someone coming onto the forums to complain that they joined an oval server and got kicked and banned without reason or explanation.

We are notorious? Thats interesting. While there is a nice search function im curious if you could find at least a handful, or to be fair just one example where people have been kicked/ banned without any reason or explaination. And while doing that you could also look for simular situations based on curcuit track racing.

Quote from Dajmin :
And the fact that you've come in and flamed me for saying it proves that you clearly have short tempers. Go figure. Remember that you are in the same group of people who banned the OP for making a simple mistake, like the rest of you are perfect.

As far as i can see it the group of people where users and the method was a vote ban.

Quote from Dajmin :
That football fans are all hooligans is a sweeping generalisation too, but that's because the only time you ever hear about them is when they do something stupid - think about that and maybe the bad rep will stop.

Wow now everything makes perfectly sense. Thank you for those profound thoughts.

dont be so hard on lewis, i bet he was just switching to the next song on his mp3 player On a serious note, that was a really dumb move but the question is why it happend as it did. Im curious about their explanations. Where they just unable to see the red light or simple didnt expected it for some reason?

ok thats why i dont understand because i cant see me mentioning any names here. Besides, why should i shut up about it when some people are obviously trying to gain unfair advantages over others? I cant even see anything about that not beeing permitted in the rules and im not in that competition anyway so i dont bother you guys any longer.
