An old Can-Am car

Think about: a lightweight, stupidly overpowered car, with typical early-70's tires, and a big wing on the back.

Oh, and it NEEDS at least 1,000 hp.

My second skin ever. I decided to try and convert the New Man livery from Joest's Porsche 956s from the mid-eighties to the FZR.

Constructive criticism is welcome.

As most of you may know, teams in some race series fit their cars with aero packages designed to suit the type of track, or even an individual track? In my opinion, a version of such a setup could work in LFS, instead of the one-aero-package-for-all-tracks setup we currently use. For example, South City could use a high downforce package similar to the ones Formula 1 teams use in Monaco, while comparitively flat out tracks like Westhill could use a lower downforce setup, and the Kyoto oval gets a specialized oval package. Each aero package would have the same range of adjustment. Of course, each wing package affects drag, so each one will be a compromise. What I had in mind was that it would be used as an additional option in setup (with about four options available (high, medium, and low downforce, along with "Oval"), and apply only on certain cars. (GTRs would simply use one wing, while higher-powered open wheelers, for example, would be allowed several packages.)

The story behind it was that it started as a skin to advertise my fictitious racing team, which I used (and will use again) in a roleplay on the forum displayed on the rear spoiler. Eventually, I started to incorporate bits of the storyline I had created in the past two events into this skin. One of my characters, who is prone to bouts of immaturity, wrote something on my other character's helmet. (Anyone who's seen the Top Gear Vietnam Special will get an idea of what was written on the helmet in question) The retaliation for that act was originally to sew a large patch of that thing onto his overalls. The pink livery and gay pride flags haphazardly affixed next to his name are a continuation of that (or would have been, had I not agreed to a partnership with another competitor. That one character is straight, just to make it even funnier.)

So I ended up redoing it from scratch, with a whole new paintjob...

Expect crap, as this is my first ever skin (in fact, it may never be finished), but anyways...

Right now, though, it sort of looks like Brawn GP is diverging into the _TCC... (insert letter for whichever touring car championship you prefer)

Edit: also, if anyone can point me toward a dirt texture for the XFR, I'd appreciate it very much.

An idea I got from playing rFactor... *that famous musical sting from "Psycho"*

A new FZ50 variant: the FZ55 Turbo. Basically, it would be LFS's equivalent to the Porsche 935. Stupidly overpowered turbo motor with massive lag. Massive wing on the back. WIDE tires. Explodes down the straights, but need to stop early to avoid going off the track.

I think it would be awesome.

Luke.S is also required to make K.I.T.T. actually take damage, and not instantly repair itself. Failure to comply will result in being raped by rabid badgers with herpes.

Note: Just because your car is destroyed, doesn't mean you are out of the race. Just create some excuse for your car to be repaired, and rejoin.

A temporary glitch in the race management software brought out a red flag. The problem is solved, and the race continues...

However, since you blatantly broke the rules outlined in the registration thread, your finish is considered illegal. You are sent back to the start. Oh, and our size-shifting, furry rule-enforcer has torn out your teleporter, and clearly told you that the next offense will result in your car being crushed underfoot.

I sincerely recommend you follow the rules from now on.
