As for the GTR, just do the basic mods
Strip interior, Intake+Exhaust+ecu+Tune, Coilovers+brakes. It really depends what type of events you plan on entering and if you want to be competetive or not. Some classes don't allow open modifcation so you'll probably want to figure that out long before you start modifying it. Gonna take a guess and say you'll probably need a CAMS approved cage for hillclimb events too


If you have the cash you're better off importing a Race/Rally only GTR from japan, will turn out alot cheaper than doing it yourself.

True, im currently looking at what is avaliable. And yes ofcouse, competitive!

Ive got someone who can import GTR's cheap from japan, so ill go with that then.

As some may know, im highly committed in karting at this moment and am currently building a drag car with a mate and have abit of a crew behind me. Because the drag car isnt all funded by me, it has given me an opportunity to take a big leap and enter a 3rd form of racing.

I know most would say its silly to try balance 3 forms of different racing, but ive come here for help from experienced people.

What i have had in mind, is time trail racing. Either circut or hillclimb. My choice of car is the 94 Nissan Skyline R32 GTR, which is a car i have a passion for.

Getting started isnt a problem, nor the actual racing side of it. But what im here for is how should i go about on modifying the skyline.

For weight reduction ive considered removing the sound proofing, but what else could i do?

Also for induction, ive thought about the n1 turbos, but what differences do they make?

Also about that, what mainly are the changes with the GTR, the Nismo, and the GTR N1.

And would anyone have any recomendations or tips when it comes to hillclimb or timetrail.

Litrally, any info given would be highly appreciated, and anything done id love to share with the community.

Thats sad to hear mate. These are the kind of things where, you feel its no harm, and sure, its your own life, if you want to risk it, go for it. I love skydiving, i love racing, i love adrenaline. im not going to be sad if i die (if you get what i mean though that makes no sence), but the problem is how will it effect the people around us. How would my mum feel when the police knock on the door saying your son is dead from street racing..How would i explain to some parent, "your son is dead because i did a burnout in my ferrari.."..etc..

I guess thats why theres this thread, sharing stories where you feel "oh shit man, im a dickhead!"

Im not talking myself up here, but around my area, from experience, im known be the driver. By the age of 13 i used to joyride in my mums car and race Sti's and Gtrs and id still manage to keep up or beat them around turns..i had built up a reputation, and you can think this is all bullshit, but if anyone here is from sydney, come around and ill show you around, simple. I race on the track in karting, and am currently building a 9sec car which will be due very soon, (there will be vids and pics to share with this community)..

Once apon a time, in my first car i was driving along a main road. Road was damp. Speed limit was 70kph. (princess highway, if anyone from sydney is reading).. and i was doing roughly 160-170kph, which is nothing compared to what i would normally go at. So i already know how to control a road car well beyond 200kph no problem one hand bla bla bla..

Lights went yellow at the traffic lights about 200m ahead. at 160kph on a road car, your going to go through yellow, you wont make the lights braking, especially in damp weather. So, i kept going, everything was clear...

..until about 50m a car runs the light in the other direction. There was 1 clear lane for me to travel through by the way.. My estimation was i slowed down to about 120 from my "super duper reflexs" So i guess you can guess what happened.

The love of my life, my best friend who is more than a brother to me and his mate ended up in hospital that night with minor injury... to top it off, a baby was in the other car. Dont ask how, but the baby had no injury, the mother had neck pains and a headache, and the father was in shock.

But because i can handle a car, i was able to prep myself, had no shock, felt like i was never in an accident and was unharmed.

Call me a dick all you want, because even though THEY ran the red light, im a ****ing dickhead and ill never forget that moment. If i was really such a good driver i was made out to be, i wouldnt have been doing that speeds in the first place.

and why was i speeding? my ego grew bigger than my brain and my balls..

What if the situation was different and my passengers and the others were killed? i would have been labled as a killer to 6 people.. Im a great guy nice heart, yet.. look what happened?

What kills me the most, because i still refuse to let go what ive done, people have shown respect to me because of learning my lesson, but at the end of the day, it makes me feel nothing but a dick.

All in all, personally it hasnt effected me, i dont feel that fear or shock from impact, but that doesnt mean others wouldnt feel fear either..

Im only 19 years old, and ive been doing that since the age of 12. Take it from a guy that been there done that.. your one hell of a flop if you speed like that...

..especially if you must record it and put it on youtube.. gtfo!

and i was no better, heck, if i get flammed right now, id deserve it. I just thought there are some guys here who think theres no harm.. well if you read my story.. theres ****ing harm.

I must say, thats one thing i disagree with LFS and agree with you on.

Content and blah blah blah and all that stuff everyone is crying about means jack all, i think ill muck around with the VWS and get back to the FO8, BF1 and FZR within an hour. Gameplay and performance is whats important.

No disrespect the LFS dev team, i can appreciate the new car and all, but in my opinion (which i assume all the guys here would disagree), the VWS was and is a waste of time. Interiors/model/track updates, physics, sounds would have made any car on LFS unforgettable. The cars are great, the physics are, the tracks are, i think LFS just lacks abit of new age tech. A car im not a fan of is the XFR, and if you upped the damage, the sound, the tracks, and just the general feel and realism of it, i guess id become a nigal and my social life would be ruined, no joke. At the end of the day, when your listening to poor sounds after 100 laps in a slow car and the feel is, not all there.. you do get abit bored. Yet when im on my kart (yes i know its real life), sometimes i get angry because the track is closing up. When you got that real feel, you wont want to get off the track.

I currently dont have a wheel nor cockpit at the moment, but when i do, ill still play LFS and treat it like a sim. Guys complain about content, because they know nothing what its like in real life. Still to this day, me and my brother try to out lap each other around city long in the bf1 using a mouse...

But, all in all, its the Devs vision, not mine, their plan is to do what they are doing, good for them.

Theres more people arguing about F1 than discussing and taking bout technical/positive notes.

Id donate $100 to LFS as a bet that the next f1 race thread would end up in some sort of arguement or disagreement rather than technical/positive discussion.

Personally i think its a waste of time complaining about it. Well, i think it was a waste of time explaining to people complaining about it.

Maybe not as much overtaking, but great battles at monaco always! and when theres a tight risky move and overtake, it puts you on the edge of your seat not knowing whats going to happen next.

Cant wait, actually excited for an F1 race. Missed out this year but planning to book next year to go to Monaco!

The mazda 3 is IMO a great car to drive and push to its limits. Youll be able to pick up alot with it, but ofcourse, it does produce abit of understeer.

The MX5 i personally also think is a top car, its rather responsive. You would get more enjoyment out of the MX5 than a Mazda 3.

Thats just comming from experience, and no im not talking just "driving" those cars. Ive had the chance with those cars. As for the Cayman ive never driven so i wouldnt know, but what i know is that id take the Formula Renault car no hesitation. Restricted or not, you dont get that chance as much as you would with a regular road car.
