Seriously though - did you guys actually expect a successful race from John? If so you are as stupid as him I am afraid.

Bingo - wet weather makes it unpredictable, therefore you cannot rule anybody out. Even Caterham who had Kovalainen in 7th in Fp2. Alonso, Hamilton, Schumacher and Grosjean being my tips for success this weekend.

3rd fastest in FP2. And in a highly unpredictable season I wouldn't write anything off, no matter how subjective you are about a particular team and / or driver.

Bottas has impressed this year in my opinion, quicker than Maldonado in Fp1 also at Silverstone - shame there won't be room at Williams for him for the next few years with the funding flooding in from Brazil and Venezuela.

Enjoying watching the British team practise syncronised swimming at Silverstone in GP2 today, interesting seeing how many of them are pushing to the absolute limit and ending off the track - same was seen in Gp3. Anyway, I hope it's wet for the whole weekend, will be good to see the grid really muddled up. Impressed by the turn out also!

I believe he wasn't giving a dam about what you say / your opinion. Try not to be so subjective "oh my god he is wrong i must correct him" think about other angles..

Besides, I think RvP will need his obedient team mates feeding him the ball so he can take glory - he won't find that at Man C with Balotelli and co.

I think you are wrong blueflame and you need to get off your high horse. Arsenal have plenty of good players remaining, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wallcott, Podolski, Giroud. Who cares if RVP leaves, it's only counter productive if he was begged to stay. His move to Manchester City does not mean it will definately work out, look at what happened to Nasri etc, joined and it took a full season to find its feet. The gunners have an excellent youth team, and a good finance so in all honesty this could be a good thing.

Quote from Joris :In a single seater, I think this will be limited more by the car itself.

You would be surprised - peripheral vision is an integral part of any drivers' skill set regardless of the car. Even in single seater's you see a certain amount out of the corners of your eyes.

I'm guessing peripheral vision will a large issue - especially in racing.

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :Are you sure of that...? When you think of the crazy amount of money involved in feeder series, surely you could always find a few drivers desperate enough to put a few bucks on the table - just to get a sniff at F1.

Yes. Regardless of the fact that feeder series are at a ridiculous price now, she was and is not paying for her role. It's simply a publicity stunt - as the source explains she is filling the title of reserve driver not the role. Think of it as a helping hand offered to spark a career in GT's once again, reciprocal to the extent that she will probably get some sort of role within a Marussia GT scheme in the future and in return all the sponsors get publicity from being a part of "the first female F1 driver".

Yes although age isn't an issue with those dinosaurs wondering around racing paddocks etc but lets be real, that's because they are names they have achieved something in their long career - whereas in terms of results Maria is still a "newbie". Nevertheless, really hope she is out and about and can still play a part in the industry.

Quote from Boris Lozac :Did she ever had a realistic oportunity in F1 of something more then a test driver though? 32 years and all...

Quote from Hyperactive :It was 110% commercial deal

No but she has done a variety of WTCC, Super League, Formula 3000 (Auto GP) Grand Am and other GT series - it seemed like this Marussia deal was a way back into racing for her after a semi-sabbatical after severing ties with Lotus Renault GP. Also as far as I am aware, there was / is no money involved for Maria to be a test driver for Marussia, I mean who would pay to be a test driver and never really drive the car apart from straight line tests? She brang publicity to the team which in turn benefited all sponsors at Marussia plus the fact her being Spanish added an extra depth of diversity for Marussia to "sell" to sponsors.

Whilst I am not 'pro' female F1 drivers if they have no talent, I do hope she can do a 'Zinardi' and return to racing in some form although I am sure it willl be a fare while and given her age Single Seaters will be off the cards.

That's really bad, everything seems alright yesterday ( to an extent ) and now this, I mean I knew it wasn't good but this will have seriously decreased her chances of ever racing again.

Quote from Speed Senna :Ooh thats sounds good (and bad) because it demands more time for programming a new car

Bah you think if they are working on another car they wouldn't have already started / nearly finished it? Wishful thinking but maybe S3 could get more than we bargained for

But S2 is decent looking, a lot better than Demo so I would go for it mate and then follow everyone else to S3 when it does eventually come out.

Quote from banfwd :Well as I heard it was raining, so maybe that's why she didn't see the ramp.

Ah the eye witness, you should probably talk to the journo's.

Have you even seen the picture of the car? There is no way in hell you could have just driven into the ramp, even in the wet - you have plenty of grip at low speeds to stop and turn unless something fails ( like it did ) and causes you to go off at a odd angle. Despite her not being the most accredited driver in the world, she isn't awful so please don't suggest that she just drove into the ramp. It's not like she clipped it, she full on nose dived. I suggest you look at the picture and hear the audio.

Man, flying into the back of a low loader..... yea well, without sounding like a complete twat obviously I just as much as anyone would want her to recover but given the circumstances it does look good and I won't hold my breath over it.

I dont think anyone thinks that - we all are thinking the same thing. Traditionally a serious head injury in Motorsport has always been bad news, Henry Surtees, Senna, Simocelli - it's not looking good but praying that she will be okay. By all accounts the car seems fine which is ridiculous, and I'm guessing this will bolster the argument for more protection for a drivers head after the Wheldon crash etc, which I agree with because whilst it is a freak accident - it's an accident and history is set to repeat itself should nothing be done.

Hope she is okay - but I've seen reports which said the head took the full brunt of the impact which is really worrying. Thoughts go to the team and family at this hard time, reports suggest the car suddenly accelerated as if the throttle was stuck open into the stationary vehicle.

I do really think Ellie Goulding and Dubstep was a match made in heaven, she has the perfect voice for botb dubstep and trance.

EDIT: You me at six and Chiddy - Rescue Me

Not a fan of You me at six, but I do like Grime and Chiddy is very P Money / Wiley esque and it goes pretty well here.
