Drift haters aren't aknowleging the fact that there is more than one kind of drifting where you get scores per andle&speed.

Just stop this flamewar and don't try to put you and your "Racing" above Drifting, please.
Rally includes drifting, yes drifting it is just that it's not called drifting when you do in rally during cornering.
Driting is also present in road racing but well not all commentators say look he's drifting.

Just stop the antidriftwhine for once because you know very well it's (drifting) there...

Quote from nihil :You can indeed, its just that words change their focus of meaning depending on the context in which they are used. Using the word 'race' on these forums makes pedants with axes to grind spit their dummies out.

Good one

Quote from Kirill.D :U sucky drifters go play NFS or something... drift is just an excuse when you want, but dont know how to race...

Keep the good flow mate, hope it takes you far

Quote from Bongle :Competition and points exists in many things, but that doesn't make them racing:
-Figure Skating
-Ballroom dancing
-Gymnastics
-Synchronized Swimming
-Diving

Those things aren't racing. They are judged sports. They are all sports to be sure, but they aren't racing. Likewise: drifting is a motor sport because it takes plenty of skill and requires a motor, but it isn't a race because time is not the sole determinant of the winner.

Drifting is to racing what figure skating is to speed skating.

There are also drift leagues where time does factor as part of your score. In that case, I'd adjust my analogy to "drifting is to racing what moguls-skiing is to downhill skiing". You don't call figure skating or moguls skiing racing, and you wouldn't call drifting racing.

Yeah I see your point.

Just that when I speak of driting I see it very close to racing. Competing with cars on track whether it's fastets time, first to finish or fastest with most points is racing or at least I understand it that way.

Im not saying that by Drifting you can define Racing no, just that you can say Drift competition or Drift Race

Quote from tristancliffe :Nah, you need to understand that drifting is a subcategory of Motorsport

Motorsport:
-Racing
---Circuit Racing
---Rallying
---Autocross
---Trials
---Drag Racing
-Drifting
-

I agree that drifting is a subcategory of Motorsport but Drift competitions (duels/show drifting) are Racing (they get points and compete) while it's different from casual drift.

Some of you really need to understand that drifting is subcategory of racing:

Racing:
-Drifting
-Rally
-etc.

Competition exists in all of subcategories of Racing.

Don't know about XF GTI and RC but all cars have much better clutch heating simulation in X35 than in X33 when going on tarmac.

Hope clutch heating won't be increased to X33 levels ever again because it's horrible and X35's clutch acts more like the real in terms of heating and you can heat it when you're really trying (when going on tarmac that is).

Soon S2 Alpha Z. Then S2 Beta A?

After Beta it'll be S2 Full and at the same time S3 Alpha A will see the daylight?

Maybe some of you 1:14x's in BL GP woul ike to attach your .spr's so we slower ones could learn something

Well I changed fuel load to 15% and got 1:15:49 on BL GP while driving with km+mouse and automatic gearbox just to test how that fuel load is affecing my speed and it did quite well

I got like 1:17 but not under that.
I don't quite rely on car's abilities to stop. I know it has grip but it's hard to rely on that and setups are important too

Maybe it's the late braking or the fast cornering but somehow those < 1:14 seem very impossible to me

You have to remember that you are not everyone. Someone always wants to look at those gears. I don't think that gear indicator is there without purpose.

If you're pro and can concentrate on what gear you're on that's ok but you have to remember that there are players who can't for many reasons.
I remember/feel what gear Im on but Im not thinking that every is like me or should be.
Some people are forgetting this fact nowadays.

Love the new speedo and other minor updates like sideview adjust

Yeah that clutch is still too slippy = overheats.

LFS now: For example Im on gear 3 or 4 trying to move -> Clutch overheats and burns out.

Real thing: Im on gear 3 or 4 trying to move -> Wheels will spin or engine will stall if there's not enought power.

Love the new size of numbers on the dash, they're really clear but there's one "BUG".

See the rev needle goes behind fuel indicator. I don't know if there is solution to that really... maybe the fuel indicator should be moved to the left or something

But yeah nice updates still!

But you have to remember that you shouldn't blindly look at all chages

Some changes are good but some need a bit work to become better than initally planned to be. You can't accept all changes with: "OMG this roxx" if they are not that.

Many people are playing this game and there will always be different opinions about it's updates so you can't just say shup up when you like them and they don't

Quote from Bob Smith :I can't wait for the angry posts when that bloody gear number on the dash finally disappears. Thankfully it's normally off the bottom of my screen anyway.

Well that should be optional as well?

Or does it hurt your race experience when someone will use it as optional on the dash?
Funny how people now want LFS to be as stripped as possible

@ JTbo:

There are numerous car manufacturers that are using it. It's related to the speed limits if I remember correctly.
Yes it would help pitting quite a bit

Well I made .spr that may show the clutch problem that Cue-Ball, MarioX and others were talking about. The clutch is too weak now. That just won't happen in real life because either those wheels would be spinning or the engine would stall.

Sorry for bad english and hope that .spr shows the problem

Quote from mrodgers :Bob Smith uses a proper perspective because he is using 3 monitors to get the same FOV you do. If you would reduce your FOV down to see a proper perspective with your point of view, your speedo would be properly huge as well.

I have no problem seeing the speedo in any car on my 17 inch CRT.

Not all of us have 3 monitors
I don't think reducing FOV is the answer as it affects driving too much.
By reducing FOV you (at least I) won't see the things that are heppening on your left (I know you can turn your head but still) and with 90 degrees os FOV you can see better how your car is acting than with 70 degrees os FOV for example.
Increasing numbersize of the speedo by 5% is a better compromise I think.
G25 pedals + Black Momo = Any chances to work?

So I have a chance to buy G25 pedals for like 20€.

Would they work with my Momo perfectly as the connector looks same as one on the Momo's pedals?

I would like to use that clutch
