People think I'm posh because of my accent.

The fact that I went to a public school might have something to do with it too.

Quote from Gills4life :"i've never seen someone check front tire wear like that before" - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Fa0GmdSN4A&NR=1 LOL

Little known fact: The rider is Agustin Escobar, it's the 1997 Aprilia RS250 Cup at Jarama, and he went on to win the race!

Of course, the NW200 is incredible as well. I've got an onboard from 1997 on my YouTube channel, they're close enough to touch on the straights!

I think somewhere I have an onboard with Steve Hislop's RC45 at the IoM, from 1994. Might be on YouTube too, worth a look.

The only thing braver than racing at the IoM TT is doing the Ulster GP in the rain, with some 20 other competitors around you:

Quote from legoflamb :Weird things happen in racing crashes. Sometimes spectator injury is due to idiocy, other times there could have been better marshaling/track safety. You can't judge all incidents where spectators are involved the same way.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tb7yowLcKag

For what it's worth, this is Wilco Zeelenberg crashing in practice for the 1990 Yugoslavian 250cc GP. He and the spectator were both fine, but the track this happened on (Rijeka) didn't hold another World Championship race.

Quote from samjh :His visor did melt into his face.

The incident happened in 1998 at Fuji. The Porsche driver was Tomohiko Sunako, and the Ferrari driver was Tetsuya Ota. They weren't actually racing; the incident happened during the parade lap when the safety car drove at an excessive pace across the start/stop line then slowed down abruptly.

Ota required facial reconstruction and his right side was partially paralysed. He took the organisers to court and won.

The video posted earlier misses out one of the most important parts of the story: Ota only survived because another driver (Shinichi Yamaji) saw the accident, stopped his car, grabbed the fire extinguisher and ran to the burning Ferrari to put out the flames. He single-handedly rescued Ota from the car, and then the marshals come up and make the injured driver get himself to the ambulance!

These are the top 28 servers as of 5 minutes ago:

Excluding drift servers we have 9 combos:

GTR at AS National
FOX at KY National REV
XFG & XRG at BL GP
TBO & GTR at BL GP
FBM at BL GP
XFG & XRG at BL Rallycross
GTR at KY Oval
FOX at AS North REV
TBO at WE International REV

There are only 9 servers running anything other than XFG & XRG or FBM at BL GP. Only 3 of those have more than 12 people playing. As far as I know, FOX Junkies is the only one of those that ever changes which track it's running.

I'm not sure how people can be content with running the exact same car and track day after day, but it seems most of them can.

Christmas #1 for Rick Astley would be lame as all hell compared to his Best Act Ever award.

If your car's key has central locking buttons, holding the unlock button for a few seconds will roll down all the windows, and holding the lock button will roll them back up again. Also works for some cars if you hold the key in the unlock or lock position.

Not entirely sure how this is useful though.

Can we have a nice vague theme this time? Something open, like endurance racing or something, to get a bit more interest.

You know that the bike scoring scheme goes down to 15th place right?

Plus I think there's a slight difference between cars that are falling apart and decals which don't line up.

How did you come up with 5501 racers overall, when the numbers add up to well over 12000? Or am I missing something here?

Out of interest, what is this "cheat engine" I keep seeing people talk about and why is it apparently acceptable to talk about it on the forums?

I leave it running overnight. Anything more than 5 videos and it still isn't done 10 hours later.

I think it's more the fact that I live in a village of about 1000 people, mostly over 50, and the phone line probably hasn't been upgraded since about 1996.

Also I would kill to get an upload speed that is 100 times my current one.

Quote from Jakg :The average broadband speed in the UK is 2mbit, thats ~256 KB/s download...

Of course if, like me, you live in the middle of nowhere down south and use a BT line, your 1.5mbit line will download at about 30kb/s max. And don't even think about uploading anything at the same time as browsing.

Just as a point of interest, here are my speedtest.net results:
