I did this for my top level leagues in hopes that it could replace the data lost with the SPDO Database. Nothing really ever will though I'm afraid. That was a huge drive for many drivers.
All in all, I think many people on here are rather closed minded. They want this type of car or that type of track or this rule or that. Instead, look at a league with an open mind and embrase each league's rule and try to work with them and use them to your advantage. I changed my organization's name to Worldwide Racing from Realistic NASCAR to emphesise the fact that our racing product is often very different from what our old name might make many of you think. I see a lot of people who will say "oh, this is that car," or "oh, we're going to that track," or "oh, that rule is stupid," and then seem to just instantly lose interest in the series or event. Oval racing on LFS isn't just crashing. Fern Bay isn't always a flip and crash filled affair. Shorter tracks are able to hold events with fast cars (within reason). Why not give something different a try?
The Rallycross Shootout Series averaged in 3 rounds 3 drivers . Rallycross Leagues are rarely seen on LFS, but even something that hardly ever happens and gives different drivers a chance is ignored. The RNCS saw small grids starting with R2, but there were 4 different winners in 6 rounds. That defys the somebody runs away with it and makes be feel bad theory of low league race attendance.
I'm trying to put on an FZ5 forced cockpit view race on Monday, it's been announced for almost a week, and not 1 comment or registration has been filed.
If there was less competition between the separate leagues do we as a community beleive that league racing would become more interesting once again?
Yeah, of course. Maybe 2 or 3 in each series a year (like the road races and plate races).
I completely agree with Edwards, and I think about 90% of the fans do as well. NASCAR almost had the formula right in testing the Gen 6, but they changed it
So, NASCAR's looking to return to Eldora for the truck series next year, but evidently they don't want to move any other series there or to any other dirt track
Yesterday's Nationwide race was a joke as expected.
This . When rules start being enforced consistancy always becomes a problem in race officiating, and in all officiating in fact. I've never seen anybody run off the racing surface and gain an advantage on exit of Turn #14 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve . Running off in the final corner of Westhill on LFS penalizes competitors for running off. Why can't the FIA let racers race until they unfairly slow one another down? I'm not really sure .
Nice to See Kimi hold off Vettle in the closing laps
I was more impressed than anything. I will say, in order to get to the truck series drivers have to have a ton of control. See my comments about the K&N East Series race at Columbus Motor Speedway a week or so ago
It shouldn't have surprised me as much as it did retrospectively. Same with the fact that the racing was good. Low Speeds, no downforce, low grip
The racing last night was MUCH better than I expected, and I hope to see a Nationwide race on a high banked dirt track soon, and then the Cup Series if the racing is similar. This is ONLY if a real pit road is constructed or the race moved to a track that does have one. The 150 lap race in segments stuff is crap. Do 150 without segments for trucks and Nationwide and do 300 for a cup race. Solved
Crap caution gave Dillon the lead . Getting more and more fed up with those kinds of debris cautions by the week . All other debris cautions last night I agreed with though
I'm glad to see it actually, but I am greatly disappointed that many of the races will be on NBC Sports Network. They are trying to promote that channel, I know, but it is still disapointing. I'm glad to see that the coverage will be cut down to 2 teams.
I'm excited to see how NBC covers it in 2015. I've seen nothing but good things in their F1 coverage
Nationwide race tomorrow at Chicogoland at 3PM EST (-4 GMT) and Eldora is on Wednesday night starting at 7PM with Q races and the feature beginning at 9:35 PM EST. Predictions? I predict ugly but unforgettable (due to bad reasons rather than good)
NASCAR announced on Monday that it was changing the direction of the sport (behind the scenes mostly). Many of these changes I see being in a very positive direction, but I'm rather open minded, so I'm sure many others will disagree. . These are planned to be in place by the 2015 Daytona 500
You know, after watching the Modified race yesterday I decided that New Hampshire isn't a terrible track for everything . Just everything that isn't a modified
Also, I traveled to Columbus Motor Speedway last night and watched the K&N East Series race . It was pretty good actually
Daniel Suarez, Dylan Kwasniewski, and Kenzie Ruston were the drivers who really caught my eye this year. In 2011 when I went only Bubba Wallace (Darrell Wallace Jr.) caught my eye. Of course, Kenzie probably wouldn't have caught my eye if she wasn't a woman. She qualified well, but fell back from 4th over the race.
Dylan Kwasniewski was fast all day, but fell back to 3rd. His car just wasn't able to corner as well as the others in the top 3. He qualified on the pole.
Daniel Suarez started 7th on the 1/3 mile Columbus Motor Speedway (it's almost a circle, so passing is DIFFICULT). He made a BOLD move on second place Cale Conley around lap 50 for second (from 7th remember) and ran down Kwasniewski for the lead from a corner behind before the first caution on lap 61. Then, on the restart Suarez took the lead on the outside. Suarez held off the field on 2 late restarts and won the race in his unsposored, plain white Toyota. It was a very clean race despite all of the contact that was happening all around the race track. There were only 3 caution flags in the 150 lap race.
Also, a driver was taken out of his car and onto a strecher in the compacts race that took place earlier in the evening after a hard drivers side impact between turns 1 and 2. He was responding, but taken out in an ambulance.
I did as much research as I could the first time (and last to date) that I voted. I ignored party when looking at the canidates and looked more at what they said and claimed to stand for.
I did vote independant for President, and I did for my House district. I split Democrat and Republican mostly on the rest, but a little more Republican.
I'm hard headed. Even if my vote doesn't change the result of the election, at least I'm working to make an (I) on the ballot a meaningful vote some time in the future..
What do you know? AJ finally put a W in the books Onto another day of NASCAR road racing. I love it
Owens Kelly in the 54 was worse than a young Kyle Busch though.. The Nationwide races on the road are always FULL of inexperiance. If not on road courses, then it's in the cars, and I still don't know what is worse.
13 drivers broke the 200 MPH barrier, and Carl Edwards got the pole with a speed of 202.452 MPH / 325.815 km/h (35.564 seconds). Marcos Ambrose stoll holds the track record from last year at 203MPH, but the tires were changed before the race actually started because of reliability issues and the new tires were a good bit (5 MPH or so) slower.
Also, Jason Leffler's COD was a blow to the neck (Layman's terms), so (I can only assume) that he was struck by a piece of debris in the neck after contacting the wall.
