There will be a demo pretty soon, but we're going to keep the beta smallish for now.

Awww you guys

Don't forget to spread the word about our existance, its hard to publicize a project like this when there is only a few of us and no marketing budget (no anything budget really!)

My point is more that we tend to choose people who actually involve themselves in the community, and we think are likely to give lots of useful feedback - not just people who really want to play it.

So if people are keen to get accepted for the beta next time we need people, come join in the forums etc.

Preference will be given to active members of our community/forums who have interesting things to say about the game and how it should work

There will probably be more testers required once we get the car designer ready to test.

There is nearly 300 beta applications so far though, so not everyone will get a chance I'm afraid!

Sounds interesting, we'll give you a yell when we get to recording I6s and V8s
Daffyflyer

We are in Melbourne and will let you know when we are recording - what sort of i6 and with what done to it?

In Australia, given we don't have those GM truck engines, its about our only bet!

As long as we can find one to record, Im sure we can get a good sound for I5s.

*shameless plug for our sound guy* www.stephanschutze.com

Oh, plus of course there will be specific sounds for each engine configuration, i4, v6, v8 etc etc.

It'd probably be easy enough to manually control the throttle, but wouldn't have much gameplay purpose - would be mildly amusing though.

Sound is currently from our sound guy's Astra, but will blend between a wide variety of different sounds depending on the engine setup (mostly intake, cams and exhaust)

We have not recorded the Miata yet, but looking forward to that one as it sounds pretty angry (my Miata!) :P

Ripped straight off our website but

- "Being able to drive your cars -
If we ever do this, we want to do it properly, and build a top quality simulator.
This is hard and expensive to do, so will only happen if we are very successful."

You can watch the engines being tested and hide parts so you can see the internals working.

Once we finish the car designer, you'll also be able to watch cars getting tested too

Finaly, something that isn't an engine!

Here, have a video of some suspension, and the beginnings of the car designer in general.

Quote from BlakjeKaas :You just said there is no news, why go to the site then?

Because when there IS news it will be there, so if you check it now and then, you'll see the news when its posted

Not much news yet, best thing to do is keep an eye on our website

Well, at least someone is going to buy it

If you've submitted it through the Beta Application link on our front page, should be all good.

We've only rolled it out to 10 people of the over a hundred who've applied so far, but we we be expanding it to more people once some of the more major bugs and fixes are sorted out

We've released the closed beta to the first group of testers!
Daffyflyer

Beta release to our small group of testers as soon as our lawyer finishes the EULA etc. (next week probably)

Followed by a rollout to more and more people who apply for the beta.

Lastly a public release of the engine designer as (one of the) Demos for the full game

Im assuming by "get the option to design from ground up." you mean design the rest of the car the same way you do an engine?

The car designer will be very similar to the engine designer, picking a chasis, adjusting the size, choosing engine & engine placment, gearbox, suspension, styling it etc.

Business wise, im not really sure what to tell you about it.

You'll build factories, research tech, setup production, run marketing, ship cars around etc.

Here is an over view of how you'll interact with the game

World Map - A view of the whole world, From here you'll be able to see ships transporting your cars and select regions, view world information etc.

Region view - Basically just a more zoomed world view looking at one region.

Plot view - a view of your factory, complete with buildings, cars driving out of the factory and being shipped etc.

Specific views - like the engine designer or car designer, or the factory screen, marketing screen etc.

I'm not sure I've explained that very well, but there you go

I don't mind you asking, but thats a pretty complex question, what specifically would you like to know about the management side?
