Also the Dif settings play a role in the shift bug,
I noticed that if you put more lock in your dif (higher numbers) the problem gradually disappears.

OMG, here we go again.
There are still people who think it's fair to get points, only because they manage to drive on the track for a few laps.
The CTRA system is a competitive point system, that means you only get points if you are faster than most of the people on the track.
Giving away points just for participating makes the whole system pointless

The FJR is not really a challenge to drive. It's close to the FOX.
Maybe it is possible to give it a little less air intake ristiction.
Than the car is better possitioned between the FOX and the real F08 AND maybe the intake/gear bug will be less prominent.

I agree with CTRA guy's on this point, the reason I started this thread was because I thought they deleded my ctra-licence.
Since that was a misunderstanding there is in my opinion no reason for discusion.
I change "Demon Ryder" in "Damon Ryder" and the problem is solved.
Sorry for the trouble.

Quote from SamH :
It isn't that we didn't have a problem with your fictional names for months, it's that we were not AWARE of them until we received a complaint about them last night/today. Since the vast majority of people DO enter sensible names, we spend our time doing other things besides studying first and last names. When we receive a complaint, we act on it. That's all it is.

You must have been aware of my name as it is on the main page of the CTRA-X page for months

The message I got from the ctra admin was that my entry was removed from ctra-system, not that I would keep my points if I change my name (maybe now you understand why I wrote harsh)
Ofcourse you don't have to say please.
I know it is your system and I really am very thankfull for what you guys are doing.
It makes LFS more fun (and the rest pointless)

PS All those different names (username, ctra name and name in the game) can however cause some confusion (even with you Sam: http://www.lfsforum.net/showthread.php?p=690321#post690321 )

I don't have a problem with giving a real name, but as my LFS username is demon68 so I thought it makes sense to use Demon.
I really can't see why that is a problem for some people.
And I'm willing to change it but nobody ever asked me.
Just simply removing me from CTRA is a little harsh don't you agree?
After all you didn't have a problem with it for months.
Sensible first and last names ???

Why do I get this adminmessage:

sensible first and last names. Your entry (Demon Ryder) has been removed.

What is not sensible about it?
It was sensible enough for months so why do I get this message now?
Why is my 11th place in the ss-ranking removed?
What is going on here?

It's not a bad idea.
But personaly I woudn't mind removing the FJR.
That car is no fun at all.
And as far as I can see, there are not many people driving it.
I was very happy to get my International B licence, so I could skip that fake car and move to the real thing.

Quote from niels1 :Getting in front is that way nearly impossble. People think they can drive a car through a corner with new patch. Its more difficult more fun tho. But I getting sick of the wreckers and crashers currently. Especially after last night. Its not funny anymore. Once infront its better I know. Been there but when you taking out several times you always end up starting back and then try to get up front.

Just isnt funny anymore.

I can understand your fustration, but the beautiful thing of ctra is that your place on the grid is based on your laptime and not on your finish position.
So why keep crashing in T1? Just keep it cool in T1 (or wait 5 seconds at startline), let everyone crash then steer around them a drive a fast lap.
That way you get the start position you deserve.

I tried it yesterday, and it was really fun.
Normaly I don't like the slow cars but this was fun.
But it's important to choose the right circuit for it, yesterday the server was also on Aston club and that was a bit boring, I almost felt asleep while driving.
South City is perfect for those little cars.
Maybe it's even more fun if people with a higher license can drive on the same server without the restriction?

Hmm, I hear a lot of people say they are taken out in the first corner,.
I drive most all my LFS time on the SS-servers but I don't have the same experience as you guy's.
It almost never happens to me. Maybe I have more luck, but I think there is more to it.
First of all, choose your position. If you go on the outsite of the corner then you will meet everyone who missed his breakpoint, so stay on the inside.
Secondly,WATCH your mirrors, it really is possible to see things comming before they hit you. So you can avoid an accident.
Third, Stay away from noobs, If you are not a noob yourself then that would not be a problem because your faster. If you are in front of the grid then they can't hit you.
If you are a good driver than you must be able to interact with the bad (not so good) drivers and keep your yellow flag ratio under the 10%

I have no problem giving away my setup, I want to win because I'm the best driver, not because I have the best setup.

Quote from The Very End :Haha tell me about it, remember back some weeks ago, there was this dude that looked like he was the n00b at the moment on the server. Then he polite asks me if he can try my set. I say "sure", while I thinking that it couldn`t possible be any tread by doing that, but what do I know? 2 races later he beats my PB with almost a second...
I swear, never more, NEVER MORE will I give away my setups

Ok, I understand that.
But maybe it's possible to do a races : points ratio of the last 100 races?
I don't want to replace the main ranking but it would be nice as a additional ranking.

PS. a yellow flag ranking would be nice to

Keep up the good work

of course there will be some secundary rules like,
minimum of 100 races and you must drive every week a minimum of 1 race to keep in the ranking.
Demon68

Is it possible to make a ranking of average points per race?
If I look at a ranking I want to see how good someone can race, not how much time he is racing.
At the moment bad (not so good) drivers stand above good drivers in the ranking, only because they spend more time collecting points.
Let's rule out the quantity and make a ranking of the quality of drivers.

Nice program, now at work I can follow my friend on a secondary screen.
Maybe in the next version it is possible to make the program window bigger so it can fill up the whole screen?

Quote from STROBE :Isn't the whole point of the Race 1 server to provide an environment for new or less skilled drivers?"

No it's to separate the Fast (skilled) and the slow (not so skilled) drivers.
If you give slow drivers points then they go to the next server and than the whole server 1 enviroment idea is gone

It's off topic, I know but
I can't believe this discussion, I hear people say "better drivers take my points away" Duhhhh
That's what this system is all about, Faster = more points !
If you want more points DRIVE FASTER !'
