This was originally the thread about the season poll, but I renamed it to fit its new purpose.

Here are a few of my personal ideas for improving the series. Remember these are my personal ideas, we organise these events as a group, and one alone does not make one.

Cars!
Maybe there should be a track by track balancing, although that might require some thorough testing to get the restrictions nailed down early enough prior to the first race next season.

Starts!
I think the balance would be greatly improved if the league moved on to use rolling starts over standing ones, would cancel out the biggest disadvantage of the FXO at least!

Races!
Although I like the current race formats, in the 90-minute long races it sometimes becomes a bit of a procession really, you settle into your space have a few fights and then carry the car to the finish. Here would be my suggestion for next season.

- A maximum feature race length of ~60 minutes
- The double header sprint race lengths should be set at ~30 minutes
- A new triple header sprint race format with ~20 minute long races

The season would then look like this:

- Round 1: 1x 60 min feature
- Round 2: 2x 30 min sprint
- Round 3: 3x 20 min sprint
- Round 4: 1x 60 min feature
- Round 5: 2x 30 min sprint
- Round 6: 3x 20 min sprint
- Round 7: 1x 60 min feature

Feel free to post your suggestions in this thread or take part in the poll posted above! Opinions and ideas are welcome.
9H 2013: Skins
Deutschland2007

Attached you'll find a zip archive containing files for the skinpack for this years event..

Quote from 9H Rulebook Section F.1 : 1. All car skins must display the required numberboards for their class on both sides between the wheels and the bonnet/hood of the car as well as the provided sunstrip.
1.1) Any teams, who use skins which do not comply with the previous rule will be penalised with a drive-through in a race session.
1.2) Skins must also be compliant with the skin regulations on lfsworld.net, meaning that they must not include any nudity, pornographic, racist or any other extremely offensive content. Any driver who's found to be using a skin that's violating these rules will be put on probation for the remainder of the season, or be excluded if necessary.

For clarification:
- GT1 must run all skin elements badged as GT1_ in the zip-file.
- GT2 must run all skin elements badged as GT2_ in the zip-file.
- GT1's class colour is GREEN, GT2's class colour is RED.

Furthermore, you should not modify the skinkit. The colours used for both classes must not be adjusted. The font used for the numberboards is 'Forgotten Futurist Bold' and it should, if possible, be used without any alterations. It's only a recommendation however, you may use a different font if you wish to do so.

Since there is most likely going to be a broadcast, all teams are asked to post their skins in 2048² resolution (or higher). Again, it's only a recommendation, you are not required to post them, but if you don't post them in time you can't expect to see them in high-res.

Skins should be posted by 23:59 UTC on October 15th, 2013.

You might want to correct the formatting on your managing teams.

For now the leader of each class will control the field. Changes to that (and for that matter any other section) may occur.

9H 2013: Rules
Deutschland2007

Hello racers!

You can find the 2013 Genuine Racing 9 hours of Aston Historic rev. here.

It's a document with roughly 12 pages, mostly explaining all procedures and which penalties may be given for incidents and violations of various rules. The series administration reserves the right to edit the document at any time should we feel it is necessary.

If you find any errors of spelling, numbering, or loopholes in the rules, please let me know. Since this is only a rough first version there might be quite a few!

Quote from Eclipsed :Just curious - why deny 2 more cars for something that's used just for 1 lap? And why even bother with pacelap if no car has real advantage from standing start?

It's not sure yet that pace cars will be used. And the FZR still has a massive advantage over the XRR in a standing start.

Quote from TypeRacing :I don't consider myself as FXR enthuasist, but I find it bit weird too. I mean there isn't many GT cars in LFS, banning one of them makes it even worse. Even when it is not very competetive, then for some beginners it is good way to get used endurance race like this.

Just let FXR be underdog - if someone wants to race it, let them race. Especially times like right now, when LFS is not very active.

E: btw, will there be SC for the start or leaders will keep the SC speed themself?

We are not trying to exclude people from driving underdog cars, we want them to actually race a car that is competitive, because frankly we cannot see how one would enjoy knowing he will not qualify in 8/10 attempts.

The starts will be behind the PC, so there will be 15 cars in each class.

Quote from Bmxtwins :This looks awesome indeed. 32 teams, once a year and much shorter than. 24 hour

Though it may be a good idea to allow FXR?

Allow the least competitive and easiest to drive car? Why?
