Just becasue I enjoy listening to Hendrix while cruising the mellow scenes of Fern Bay in the laid back XRG, smoking a joint....does NOT mean I'm a hippie

Nope...I find anger leads to bad driving. If I take my mind of driving, and start bitching at people for THEIR driving, or just for their stupidity, I lose focus. Same thing applys in racing really. The only emotions that you should let fill you is happiness.

^I agree, if you've got the cash for a brand new PC, I'm sure you have the cash for a license.
And I'm just wondering...what do you have against us hippies?

I totally agree with the OP, it does give LFS a bit of a bad name...but then again, they do give us a notice about demo servers before we can see the list of online games. Maybe they just need to re-vamp that a little bit

Riders Motion...your avatar is OFFENSIVE!!! Why are you against me and my culture *tear*

^Them things are fun I remember a friend had one back in the day, sure was one hell of a road-warrior. It seemed to take any corner he threw it into.

^I'm going to have to disagree with you on that. When I'm playing LFS at school I get roughly the same laptimes at home, but at school I can run 1280x1024 at a decent 40-50frames (depending on amount of cars) Sure the experience is more ENJOYABLE, but I wouldn't say it made me any faster...

If your going to think like that, then it was XRG followed by XRT. The Tokyo-driftzorz peoples needed more powaaa

Yeah, either speed will work fine, as your system will run it at 266mhz anyways (asuming you are running a 1:1 divider)

Haha feel free to ask questions about the lingo As for the electronics, I'm thinking of coil tapping, then running them through SEPERATE volume/tone pots, that way I can be chugging allong with the bridge, and have a LOUD neck pickup ready to flip to and jazz-out

Sourcing wood is actually hard around Ontario, easiest way to go is online, but cost more. It took me nearly a month of searching before I found the wood for my Strat

Haha I'm glad your thinking of the demo users, quite a nice gesture Sorry I don't know of any demo users that are deserving (off the top of my head)

lucasdrifter Damn dude, I like your style. Is that an Orange I see? Looks like a pretty sweet area, got any wide shots showing the whole setup? I'm quite curious about that dirt jump set, they look pretty tempting. Nobody around my area has the passion to actually make jumps of that quality, we usually turn excisting things into good step-ups or table tops.

Yeah obviously it's not going to mean much when it comes to actually driving, but yeah, it is interesting to learn about what the REAL drivers have to say about the games, actually after RACING the real life counter-parts.

I'd guess player hacker, seeing as he's S2 licensed...

Iiirc, isn't it just a .dds file you download and drop into the .dds folder?
(never used it, I think it's that one that makes the player look casual)

Quote from [RF]-art555 :yes, both does. Knobly's at max pressure have lower friction that normal/supers etc.. Rising Front of the car moves the overall weight distribution to the rear, which helps to launch better.
High camber on Fronts should also help. The lower the contact path the less friction you'll get

Well yes, that's pretty much common sense. I was more wondering, how much of an effect does it have in LFS. I've never done something like that to actually see what effect it had...

^If your interested, I'll be starting a 'budget build' based on a Les Paul that I will probably photo-log and make a 'tutorial' out of. So far I want some decent mahogany, and some AAA (possible AAAA if I can get any cheap) maple for a thick cap. Add a Mahogany neck (I like it better then maple for weight and sustain, darker tone too) MAYBE some custom inlays, if I feel I want to get creative, not too sure about pickups but they will have coil tapping, and maybe a built in EQ in the circuit.

Iirc Top Gear did a thing on real-world vs video game lap times. Definetly worth watching I'll probably download that raw footage and just dub it with tunes I like, highlight a few good areas (maybe a slow-mo glance back a couple seconds)

^HA! Your the first person to impress me with your reasons You know the race is gonna be horrible if its a busy server, and you pray to start as close to poll as you can, so you don't get pwned even BEFORE T1

Side note about AGP. I'm looking into a getting a stand-aline AGP card, but my motherboard is also limted to 4x, but after doing research, you won't get too big of a gain over 8x anyways, I guess bandwidth on 4x is enough to keep up. Just make sure your motherboard CAN supply the right voltage (Different AGP versions do have different voltage needs, but a lot of cards automatically catch what the motherboard support is, and switches to 4x or 8x mode)

Well I suppose it's a myth, depends on how you look at it. My S/S/S strat has the neck pickup right where the 24th fret would be, so my harmonics do have a stronger ring to them, plus I find it gives a better tone when playing slide (not sliding frets, playing with a slide on your finger)

Don't know a whole lot about the world of bass, but seeing as its the same notes, just an octave down, a pickup under the 36th fret harmonic would probably give similar results...
