Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).
Note that it is required to use apron on both entering and exiting pitlane in Kyoto National configuration - enter pitlane on apron before last oval turn (follow the guideline and stay left of posts before turn) and exit pitlane on apron and join track after first oval turn (stay left of posts after turn and don't cross the yellow line with more than 2 wheels)! Each infraction will lead to 10s penalty added to finish time as always.

Some historic stats:
Last race won by: A.Valta
Last FORMULA AMERICAS 2019 race won by: 1st race using this car
Last Kyoto race won by: S1DUS*R.Kardol (2 wins in row) (72nd RTFR XL - FXO V8SUPERCAR @ KY National)

Already 3 centuries of races have been completed and in the anniversary 300th event on the community's voted combo a total of 35 drivers gathered up for intense and exciting racing,2 drivers however did not attemt to start the race. The organization "allowed" itself to make a little failure as it was simply forgotten to load the 40 grid slots layout and the very quick hotfix caused the unlucky 33rd driver start from a bit of a gap. More than 1/3 of the grid consisted of previous race winners (counting both RTFR and RTFR XL),meaning the competition level was relativelly high.

Mr. Lagooga was on top of the game this time round, leading all 15 race laps on his way to victory lane, becoming the 1st non-finnish century race winner. He was also the fastest in qualifying to score his 13th pole position, tying R.Kardol and Fast for 4th most pole positions, while his win was 7th,raising him into top10 of all time success ranking, while his top5 count is still quite low - 13. Despite his face crossing the finish line first, the WCL driver who calls himself Monke finished in 2nd position 1/3 of a second behind the winner, making this the 17th closest finish in RTFR history. The finn took over the fastest lap of the race on final lap - that is his 8th,while the top5 finish is his 20th. The 3rd most successful racer in RTFR finished 3rd this time - R.Kardol scored his 70th top5 finish, breaking the tie for 2nd most. A.Valta finished 4th exactly 10 seconds behind winner to score his 15th top5 finish, but Mantas was the only top5 finisher that did not finish in position he started - the lithuanian gained a position between green and chequered to score his 4th top5 finish.

VOD at Youtube:

In 2 weeks RTFR will start it's 4th century with 301st RTFR - combo was announced during broadcast, but full info as always will be posted in the weekend before the race. But inbetween the longer version will jump it for the 2nd race of the year - next week RTFR XL will feature Indycar-like action with Formula Americas 2019 car in the most famous LFS roval Kyoto National in it's reversed direction. Full info of the event will be posted later today.

One of the 2 LFS standard cars was run this week in AWS - the RB4 GT. And it was selected to run the Westhill Street Cup round just like for past 6 seasons, this year the course was chicane rich Tunnels configuration, torturing drivers with a lot of quick direction switching. The very first visit of the field to the roundabout led to some minor contacts, where effect was expanded by some network latency, effectivelly deciding drivers championship, but the race action heated through mid field with plenty of position changes.

For the 2nd race in row the top of the podium was taken by A.Valta, but this time he did not pass a single car - he was a whole second faster in qualifying and more than a second per lap faster in race, leading all 22 laps, taking all 22 points from the round. The 2016 AWS champion was followed in finish by 2019 AWS champion - Sobis finished 2nd,which is his best finishing position since his championship season. Last step on the podium was taken by first timer - V.Adultman never finished in top5 before this season in his 19 races, this year brought him more success and 1st podium finish.

By scoring 17 points more than his closest rival in this round,A.Valta raised his gap over competition to 28 points. Even if 5 drivers still are eligible for drivers championship,A.Valta just needs to avoid being outscored by more than 6 points by Thehemuli in next race to clich the title before final round. Thehemuli still keeps his 2nd position in table, but now has near impossible task to challenge current leader. The race for 3rd place in standings is almost as tight as before this round - Michal now took over the 3rd position, but his advantage over 5th position is just 3 points with 4th position just a point behind.

Happyd still leads rookie of the year standings, but his lead has been decreased to 7 points - the driver with backwards spelled name got 4 points closer to him and can overtake him with same points rate.

The turn 4 incident made an impact also on teams championship - RGA almost doubled their lead in the table as they are now 35 points ahead of Zafiralis,MRc closed up to 1 point to 2nd position. Theoretically only Czechia can still overtake Finland in nations standings, but it is very unlikelly that Finland won't score at least 11 points during next 2 rounds, which would secure 2nd nations cup for them in row without counting points of rivals.

In 2 weeks AWS will return to Rockingham Oval after 2 years of absense - the previous 2 Rockingham 150 editions were run with RB4,this year the car has been changed to Fraud Wheeler E2,which is equipped with R4 slick tyres, making this round more racing focussed rather than tyre survival focussed. But also this brings a bit of unknown effect to the race - noone really knows how draft works with this car in this track, but surely again some teamwork might be advantageous if practiced and executed well.

Livestream at SimBroadcasts.tv
Stream starts 18:50 UTC

More than 12 years have passed since the very first international version of RTFR,meaning the event has almost reached it's teenager years. But already before "puberty" the round number of 300 will be reached this tuesday. Before reaching the anniversary race,we have done already 23.8 megameters of race distance, circled just over 7000 laps,we have seen more than 750 different racers,77 of those have finished a race as a winner.

As always the combo for anniversary race was decided by public voting - first two of these polls were "won" by an XF car,the basic XFG was run in 100th RTFR,the upgraded XFR in 200th. And there was another XF chassis candidate for 300th,but it was left as last in voting - this time the other base LFS chassis won the voting,in it's most powerful version from default LFS cars. Also the selected track has been in voting in all 3 polls - Aston Historic wasn't too relevant in results for 100th RTFR,but won both last polls, including this one - for the 2nd anniversary in row,RTFR will run the 8 kilometers long track at english countryside of Aston.

Now it's up to you, racers,to provide exciting racing action under the cameras of SimBroadcasts.tv team - for the past 2 years they have promoted racing with their quality streams, while all the raise of the event popularity was started by World Class Lions team sponsorship 4 years ago. Let's celebrate the number 300 with style and 2 weeks later start a new century of semi weekly fun racing!

Quote from Scawen :do we need the music player at all? Well... no, we don't really need an intro video

I cannot speak for others of course, but personally I never used it - even if hearing the setupscreenloop gives me the nostalgy of first ever tries with LFS,it was disabled pretty much within couple of days using LFS as I always had my music playing on external player (still winamp - yes,I'm that old...). Also skipping intro has become a thing in every single game that allows it - it's something one might want to see only in 1st ever use. Regarding that - surely someone from community would be able to provide a nice intro to give 1st time user a good preview of LFS,but option to disable it is a must.

Round 6

Monday,13th February
18:30 UTC / 19:30 CET / 20:30 EET

After the little tour around the globe AWS returns to home of LFS - England. 2 of last 3 rounds are held in Westhill, both in custom configurations. And custom configurations is a key word in Westhill Street Cup - a round that has been held since 2017 in various support road courses around Westhill, this year - Tunnels configuration. The front stretch is surrounded by tricky chicanes, while turn 3 will turn many minds crazy as the downhill left curve vanishes in 1st tunnel and will await many drivers scraping their cars against wall. The track features quite few signature turns - the roundabout,semi-fast righthander after back straight, the dipping lefthander that leads back towards main straight, which cut with 2 chicanes... Even if RB4 is known being heavy on it's tyres, track's average speed is quite low, which will help most drivers, but still the trait of this car has to be respected if driver wants to perform well.

With 3 rounds to go it feels like just few turns left before finish straight - the championship table has 2 distinctive leaders,so this round probably will increase or decrease a lot the intrigue for title battle. Same situation is in teams championship - if one of leading trio performs significantly better than others, the situation will be either decided or heated up,while nations leader can even wrap up the title with 2 rounds to go.

Round info:
Track: Westhill RGE Tunnels (WE1Y)
Laps: 22 (81km)
Car: RB4
Previous winners : LLM.V Laguckas (2022, 2019 & 2017), S1DUS*R.Kardol (2021), RGˆDzidoris (2020), B2マ FasT (2018)

Lap/MPR time: 18:50 onwards (lap 13)
Involved drivers: #1: [MRc] PredroBR, #2: Three Jump
Description of incident: #1 turns into the right rear corner of the car of #2 causing #2 to spin off and take damage.

PedroBR does not avoid contact and causes an incident.

Quote from ZFRL•LG-mies via RG discord :RandomCar 2023 round 1: Lap 20, start/finish straight just as the lap starts
bananas was behind me with significantly more speed so I drove the rightmost side of track to prevent him getting inside line on t1, but he decided to cut through grass to overtake me and have the inside line to t1

Bananas makes a pass outside track limits.

PENALTIES:

[MRc] PedroBR - receives a 30 seconds penalty added to his finish time for avoidable incident with multiple position loss and damage on lap 13.
bananas - receives a 10 seconds penalty added to his finish time for pass outside track limits.
bananas - the unserved DRIVE-THROUGH penalty is converted in 30 seconds penalty added to his finish time as per standard LFS rules. Both these penalties result in loss of last completed lap.

- - - - - - - - - -

The inaugural officially scored RandomCar race gathered up 33 drivers in the qualifying, featuring 15 different cars, however 5 did not take the earned position on grid, which caused loss of another different car.

A total of 4 drivers were drawn the Ultimate Road Car,but 3 of them did not even attend,at least the 4th driver made up for it and raced his heavily restricted supercar to victory, leading a total of 5 laps. The rather inactive in our events bulgarian driver named RD2 used the cars handling abilities and situation on track to progress from 5th position on grid to 1st in finish. 2nd place was taken by Fast, who received a car based on late 70ies compact car, gaining 2 positions between start and finish. Half of the race results top6 was taken by drivers with Imprezzive, best of them was V.Lagooga, who took the lowest step on podium.

Round 2 will take place in 4 weeks and the track for it has been submitted already - the longest standard South City configuration with self explaining name City Long. This race will be 17 laps long. Also the car for voting has been submitted, the voting for new addition will start on the weekend on our discord channel. Also next week will be busy at Race Green Events - on monday the AWS 2023 season will start looking to it's conclusion with the 6th of 8 rounds, which will be run with RB4 at Westhill Tunnels configuration. But tuesday will be the big celebration of 300th RTFR,combo is still to be decided in public voting - check out the RTFR forum section and cast your vote until sunday!

* PENALTIES :
[MRc] TimDC - recieves a 20 seconds penalty added to his finish time for pit exit line violation on 2 occasions.

- - - - - - - - - -

2 weeks after the fastest AWS race it was time for the "hottest" - it was known right from the start that the 380 horsepower RS1 Kenji will be heavier on the tyres than every other car raced in this league,so keeping balance between pace and consistancy was the main challenge of this. 2 drivers even sacrificed their performance on gravel parts of this track for tyre durability by selecting road super tyres instead the "logical" choice - hybrids. One of them won the race.

Unnoticed A.Valta opted for different tyres - even if he had slightly better run to 1st turn from front row outside position,he could not complete the pass and due compromised grip on gravel parts lost quite few positions in 1st lap. Then he started his comeback regaining position after position to even take over race lead just before half distance of the race to lead remaining 17 laps. With this the championship leader scored his 3rd win of the season - as much as he did in his championship season in 2016. The podium was completed by 2 other finns, both from team Zafiralis - surprisingly the better one was not the 2nd place of series, but his teammate Motimoukari, who started from low 8th position,Thehemuli finished 3rd,just like he started. Dzidoris scored his 8th pole position in AWS,but could not keep up pace after leading 1st 16 laps, but fastest lap of the race was snatched by recently dethroned MRc RX champion TimDC.

If series leader wins, then it's clear that his lead grows - after the unsuccessful oval race,A.Valta regrew his standings lead to 11 points over Thehemuli, even if theoretically a total of 11 drivers are still eligible for drivers champion title,it's highly doubtful anyone besides Thehemuli can endanger A.Valta's chances for 2nd title. There is however a tight race for last overall podium position - Lorenzo,Michal and Rony are seperated by just a single point with 3 rounds to go.

Not a single rookie driver took part in this round, therefor there is no change in race for this award - except driver with backwards spelled name lost his last attendance bonus point and is now 11 points behind Happyd.

With the 2 podium finishes Zafiralis scored most points between all teams in this round and by that they cut their gap to table lead by 8 points - they're now 17 points behind RGA. MRc lost their 2nd position in table and retook 3rd position with 26 points gap to lead. Finland did not score any bonus points in this round, but with 1-2 finish that does not really matter - even if a total of 4 nations are still eligible for the title, there are barely any doubts about Finland taking it for the 2nd year in row. Czechia is still 2nd,currently 64 points behind leaders, the 5-time champions Lithuania is 3rd,37 points behind 2nd place.

This is the 2nd short break between rounds - already next week round 6 of the season will take place. Even if the Westhill Street Cup was introduced just in 2017,it has become a traditional part of the series - an RB4 race on Westhill's support roads, each year in different course. This year it's the well known Tunnels configuration, original of it was known already from the first test patches of the rebuilt Westhill environment.

Round 5

Monday,6th February
18:30 UTC / 19:30 CET / 20:30 EET

The AWS journey around the world continues - after the stop in Japan, next destination is the other non-english raceway of LFS. Fern Bay of Jamaica has it's own unique track type and is the other one of 2 raceways offering standard rallycross tracks, which will be used in this year's Jamaican Trophy. If the course is well known, the car isn't - the RS1 Kenji is a hatchback based on a street legal version of a WRC car,a brand new addition to All-wheel-drive Winter Series. 380 horsepower will torture the hybrid tyres to glowing,so drivers will have to find best compromise between pace and durability for a good result.

Exactly a half of the season is complete, that means whatever was possible during 1st half is also possible during 2nd. With 6 points gap between championship leaders nothing has been decided yet, however now it's time to raise the performance and push the decisions in own direction. This round will also be 2nd of 3 Cross Challenge rounds, leading these standings after oncoming round will hugely increase the chance to receive this award.

Round info:
Track: Fern Bay Rallycross
Laps: 33 (67km)
Car: RS1K

Race statistics / RTFR .mpr folder / Event rating and other statistics (will be updated later this week)

This week we did something like a little blasphemy - we run one of the Rockingham's main circuits in reversed direction, which felt like almost a brand new racetrack. Still the unknown brought a new attendance record to FZ5 - 34 drivers set a laptime in qualifying, that's 2 more than in previous RTFR using this car and almost twice as much as all time FZ5 average.

Week ago A.Valta celebrated his 1st win in the longer RTFR version, this week he won for the 5th time in normal RTFR,but his previous win was in 118th RTFR,7 years ago. A.Valta took over race lead exiting turn 2 and never saw a direct oponent anywhere else than in mirrors, leading all 17 laps on his way to victory lane, scoring also his 14th top5 finish. Gábor started from 2nd row and slipped into 2nd position during the race to try to catch leader, but did no succeed and finished 2nd to score his 39th top5 finish. The driver with the bad habbit of using different name each time he joins finished 3rd which is his 12th top5 finish, but was able to set fastest lap in both sessions - that was his 12th pole position and 5th fastest lap of the race. 4th and 5th place finishers switched positions between start and finish - Onur passed for 4th position to finish in top5 for 3rd time in row,7th overall, leaving first time participant M.Nieminen in 5th position.

Next RTFR is scheduled in 2 weeks, which will be the celebratory 300th RTFR,combo is still unknown as the voting for car and track is alive until noon of sunday before it. Until then the server will be used for 2 other occasions - currently server is set with combo of 74th RTFR XL for laptime testing - Formula Americas 2019 at Kyoto National Reversed, please join the server at possibility to test for best possible laptime!
