#7 JUSTIN obviously did not check perimeter before such sudden line change, which causes multiple car incident.
* PENALTIES :
JARMOLO - receives a WARNING for multiple avoidable contacts on lap 1 - driver joining a race without proper practice should be extra careful and get used to car handling and size before going for close racing. Additionally he will not be allowed to start without qualifying anymore.
#7 JUSTIN - receives a WARNING for incident approaching 1st turn of lap 1. Future incidents will lead to actual penalty or even race ban.

GTR racing in the Aston National is quite a classic of LFS - high speeds through curved straights, precise cornering through the fast first turn and tricky last chicane and throttle control exiting all 3 hairpins. Don't need much more to test drivers for a wide skillset. Additionally the drivers got a new and for most rather unknown GTR car - the midengined Lillia-X in performance wise between stock FZR and XRR,but does not have years long developed setups, meaning drivers had to create something out of the simple base setup. Intensity raised when a total of 36 cars were approaching 1st turn with speeds well over 250km/h - even if most survived unscared, one incident still took place, which was just one of two big ones in this race.
With sights on standings win,R.Kardol started from outside of front row and took over race lead when entering 1st hairpin, despite a greeting from Fatal in 2nd hairpin,he kept the lead through rest of the race to take home his 16th RTFR race win - that is 3rd most in all time stats. He also set the fastest lap of the race (or rather repeated as he set the time 1 lap later, but achievement still counts),which is his 11th,while the 67th top5 finish allows him to tie his teammate Botsi for 3rd most top5 finishes. Gábor was the fastest in qualifying, where he was the only one to break the magical barrier of 1:40 - that's his 14th pole position in RTFR. Starting from there on track with quite long run to 1st turn was not really an advantage - he lost lead early and was just the 1st chaser through whole race, finishing 2nd 5 seconds behind his teammate, but he also scored the fastest lap of the race, which is his 14th,but the top5 finish is Gábor's 37th. To make the S1dus podium complete once again, this time Altsu took over from other teammates in his 2nd event visit this year - he started 4th to finish 3rd,which is his 15th top5 finish. TJ was the best of the rest in this race by finishing 4th,that's 5th top5 finish for the surprise winner of previous non-standard cars race winner. A.Valta finished 5th to make the top5 complete just from previous race winners - that's his 12th top5 finish.

With this the RTFR racing this year is finished! RTFR XL final standings have already beed posted, during this weekend also standings of RTFR 2022 S2 will be posted. This year only one event is left from RGE side - the dozen edition of annual X-mas derby "This is Crashmaaas !!!". Unfortunatelly it's very unlikelly to continue the new tradition of broadcasting this event in livestream and hear drivers screaming in glory, but that won't make the event less...ehm...crashful? RTFR and RTFR XL will return next year with same schedule, but more information of standings format will be announced before 1st race.
Server is now online!
Unfortunatelly Airio tends to corrupt the stats files when using mods, only solution is to clear them - that means the laptimes from old times are vanished...
AWS has started the dozen season with the lightweight "formula offroad" - this race recorded 1st ever AWS race with car lighter than 1 ton. And that was not the only record that fell this monday - this was the 1st ever Blackwood RXGP with 41 laps distance (first two seasons had 2 laps shorter distance) to be completed under 40 minutes! This car was actually built with breaking records in mind, even if it was a tick slower that last year's XF eGTR version, the lack of need for pitstops lead to new race distance record. What wasn't breaking any records was the attendance - with 13 drivers attending in season opener,it was pretty much average attendance of this round (13.4 before this season).
The 2016 series champion A.Valta returned to series for the 1st time since his championship season and did it with style - he was significantly faster in qualifying to secure the pole position and led all 41 laps to score his 4th AWS race win. Interestingly this was his 1st ever Blackwood RXGP as 2016 was the only year when this round was not held. Last year's rookie of the year Thehemuli stole the fastest lap of the race from race winner, which is his 1st such achievement in this league. Still he had to work hard to not allow both green cars in his mirrors grow bigger, eventually pulling 4 seconds gap over finish line to finish 2nd. The closest green car was Lorenzo, who started from outside of the 3-wide front row - he kept the 3rd position through whole race to score his 1st AWS podium finish. Note to add here - top6 drivers finished in same order they qualified, there were couple position changes at the bottom end of it during the race.
After 1st round as always the standings positions are same as race results of round 1 - A.Valta is leading standings by 3 points over Thehemuli,Lorenzo is 3rd with another 3 points gap. Same situation is in the Cross Challenge table, there are 2 more rounds to go for this award, both on the 2nd half of the season.
Currently there is just a single rookie in points standings, therefor this award might not be awarded if no other rookie finishes a race during the season (no point honoring someone as best if there was no competition).
Situation in teams championship is quite competitive after 1st round - the series hosts and 5-time champions RGA are leading by 2 points over Zafiralis (the rivalry continues from VERL),3rd is MRc with 5 points gap from leader. Nations cup is currently led by defending champions Finland, which scored maximum possible 39 points in this round. Czechia is 2nd with 19 points gap to leaders, followed by Italy another 5 points back.
As always in the 1st raceday of the new year,AWS holds the NewYear City Challenge - a tradition that has not been broken through whole league's history. What's changing is the car - before it was switched between the well known FXR and RB4 (the latter had just 2 appearances though),this year the relay is taken over by a smaller GTR car - the PZG GTR has just a bit more than half horsepower of FXR,but weights only 900kg,making it very agile through the winding turns of the urban track. This year the longest standard configuration City Long will be used for 27 laps race.
Teasing the users with new lighting system where objects also have shadows...
Anyway - semaphore without wheel base is a welcome addition, was always a headache to hide the wheelbase. Now we will be able to build much better starting lights constructions.
The new bale looks better. Wider speedbumps will surely come handy too.
Seeing this activity I'll try to repeat something I suggested before - something we could use as turn inside curbing. Simple 1 meter long version of the same good old speed bump would be already a good solution. Optionally another version with one side more flattened than other side (longitudinally).
In some cases we can trick out some curbs using concrete objects, but they're not well suited in elevation, while the speed bumps adjust themselves on ground.
Object count raise maybe too? (I started to build a specific track in LA,but to complete it,needs a bit more than 2400 objects,3000 would be enough)
A reminder - server will be password protected 1 hour before qualifying start to keep not knowing crowded server jumpers out of way, pass will be always the same: green
Some historic stats:

Last LILLIA-X GTR race won by: 1st race using this car
Last Aston race won by: S1DUS*R.Kardol (287th RTFR - LFSRM LS GTI @ AS Historic Rev.)

Current rating leader: S1DUS*GáboR (+26 points)
12 months of 2022,12 RTFR XL races - all of these now are completed,it's time for a recap! Even if average attendance sank by 3,reaching 27.5 drivers per round,it was still over average attended year, except the june round, where only 18 drivers were ready to deal with almost 1000 horsepower modern F1 car. Round one repeated event's all time highest attendance record of 43,being the 3rd race with fully filled 40 car grid. A total of 80 drivers scored at least a point towards standings, which is 4 less than last year. 21 from these managed to finish in top5 in at least one round, last year there were 24 in this list. 8 different drivers scored a race win this year (2 more than last year),3 of them for the first time in RTFR XL. Interestingly half of them were not very active, finishing outside top10 of final standings. Another fun fact is visible on the graphical podium - all 3 drivers scored their best result with one of the LX cars, standings winner scored his sole win with LX6,both other drivers - with LX4.
RTFR XL 2022 standings winner: [FM]ˆチαtαι
The 2021 STARL champion Fatal certainly increased his presence in RGE hosted leagues this year - he finished 3rd in AWS 2022 standings and won the championship in VERL 2022. Now he added another achievement in RTFR XL,despite winning just a single race out of 12. His advantage was consistency as he finished outside top5 just in a single race he started, scoring 4 second place finishes. In standings he finished the season with comfortable 29 points lead - only in 2 races a winner could score more than that in this dynamic points system. Last year the finn finished just 14th in RTFR XL final standings with a single 5th place finish as best result.
Last year's standings winner R.Kardol was pushed down to 2nd place this year, mostly due his lack of activity,as he did not attend 4 of 12 rounds. Still the dutchman won 3 races (most of the year) and brought home a top5 finish in each of the 8 races he started. Unite had a similar result as his teammate - 8 races,8 top5 finishes, however the 0 in wins column makes the difference. The finn finished twice as 2nd for his best result and scored 3 fourth place finishes, which is most this year. Also for him it's a loss of one position in final standings compared to last year.
Between rest of noticable names is V.Laguckas, who won 2 of first three rounds of the year, but his last race was on april,he ended 8th on standings with effort from 4 rounds. Also S1dus Monkey scored 2 wins this year, setting fastest lap in all 3 races he participated, that equals 11th place in standings. Between sole race winners are also Gábor,Upsas,Mantas and Number.
Got some rage after a race?
Are you mad to someone?
Want to put your anger on someone to see his car upside down?
Want to release some steam while racing?
Or you are just naturally aggressive driver but all events too soft for you?
Well, here is your solution, because This is CRASHMAAAS !!!
the 12th annual X-mas derby event 2022
Monday, 26th december, 18:00 UTC / 19:00 CET / 20:00 EET
They say it's cheaper by dozen, this year the count reaches dozen, but the costs are getting further away from being cheap as there are plenty of wrecked XRGs in the past. Does this change anything? Not at all,as the crashhappy people keep returning with new cars,so for the 12th time - Race [un]Green Events presents: the chance to take your 140 horsepower rear wheel drive XR GT and don't feel sorry if you happen to destroy it - because this is an event where you have a risk to get your car finished before crossing the finish line. The event will have only few basic rules regarding behaviour on track, otherwise - feel free to impress your opponents physically, divebombing and P.I.T. maneuvers more than welcome! Event will consist from different parts - qualifying, where each driver just sets his laptimes to decide starting places, heats, where the fight starts to get physical for the chance for final, the final, where best will be decided and a bonus run, where everyone will get a final chance to let out rage on masses!
The event starts 18:00 UTC / 19:00 CET / 20:00 EET with hotlap qualifying, everyone who wants to take part, should be in server before the start of it,but arrival deadline is 20 minutes after start of qualifying (it's the minimum lenght of it),everyone who comes later will be able just to watch and take part only in bonus run - noone without qualifying will be allowed to take part in main event.
Fern Bay is and stays the LFS true classic,so it seems we will never leave this place! Bullring V3 is still the place to be,also this year we'll use the very same layout as several years before and probably few years after. (click to see bigger image)
The track surface is 99% grass (not that the 1% of tarmac would make much difference anyway),one lap is 330 meters long and width variates from 10 to 20 meters and it even has a slight elevation! Layout file can be found as attachment from one of previous year's threads and in server, feel free to have practice runs to be familiar with track or just store the layout for own needs.
Now some information about the parts of this event:
Qualifying:
The hotlap qualifying will be used here. Every driver will have 1 outlap and 2 timed hotlaps, the best lap counts as per standart LFS qualifying. The order will be decided by connection list - from top to bottom, late joiners will have a chance for their run after initial order. Each driver will receive 2 simple commands from race administration: [drivername] - join - driver joins and stops his car right before entry of track (right before the yellow line) [drivername] - go! - driver enters the track for his qualifying run
Everyone else is expected to stay in spectators until called for his run! To speed up things,we will run 2 cars on track at same time. Track is just over 20 seconds long, this means cars will have around 10 seconds between them,so noone should disturb other driver normally. But in case someone spins and loses a lot of speed,he is expected to allow other driver to pass in case he is near behind!
Qualifying will determine starting order for most of runs!
Heats:
Heats will be 10 laps long and will be used to determine drivers eligible for the final. Heat run amount and levels (as semifinal or quarterfinal) will depend from number of drivers taking part, but every heat will be run with no more than 8 drivers, best 2 finishers atomatically qualifies for next level (final or semifinal),except the last chance run where more drivers could start if needed and it will be just 6 laps long!
For example - if there are 13-24 drivers, all will be divided into 3 heats (from qualifying results - 1st in heat 1,2nd - heat 2,3rd - heat 3,4th - heat 3,5th - heat 2,6th - heat 1,7th - heat 1,etc). Best 2 from each heat qualifies for final, the rest will run in last chance run for remaining 4 postions in final.
If there are more than 24 drivers, the first round of heats will determine best 18 to take part in semifinal heats which will be run just like in example.
NOTE - before leaving unhappy after first failure,it's worth to remember that everyone will have 2 chances to qualify for next round! So if you fail to make next round during your quarter- or semifinal heat, you'll have another chance in relegation/last chance run! For better understanding, here is a simple chart that shows idea of advancing through heats (drivers and heat count are subject to change from amount of atendees)
The final:
The final is the run where the event official winner will be decided - it will be 20 laps long and only best 10 drivers through qualifying and heats will be able to fight for bragging rights! The starting order will be decided partially from heats and qualifying - for example if there were 3 heats, all 3 heat winners will start from top 3 places, order for that will be determined by qualifying results, all 3 heat 2nd place finishers will take 4th-6th places on start with same ordering, last chance run qualifyers will be ordered just by qualifying results.
The Bonus run:
It's the ultimate carnage - everyone in server will be able to take part in this 20 lap run,the best part - starting order will be random,so you could only blame LFS randomizer for a bad starting position. As usually bonus run will have some new layout additions, some a bit experimental, some pretty much classic, some might put you out of race, some will help you to put others out.
As always the official part of the event ends with finish of Bonus run,but the afterparty will continue as long there are crashhappy drivers in server - 10 lap races on the Bonus run track just for fun, where we will allow all cars (including mods),so this year the afterparty might be even more interesting than previously!
Even this is a almost rule-free event on track while racing, the event format asks some tough admining,so everyone is expected to behave in server and follow admin's instuctions and these guide lines:
Starting of a run:
Everyone will be simply gridded in default formation - 1st position is on left side,2nd in middle and 3rd - on right side of each row.
Make sure you don't jump the start as LFS will either give you DT/SG penalty or even spectate you - penalty will be replaced by 1 lap penalty, while spectate will mean that your heat is over!
Racing rules:
Everyone is expected to follow clean racing rules... Yeah,right... This is crashmaaas! There are only these basic rules:
1. No wrong way driving - just anti-clockwise direction on track! In case you get spun heading wrong way, driver is expected to turn his car to right direction on full steering lock or reverse and make the J-turn.
2. No standing on track or massive slowing down - except the car is in undrivable condition/position,in that case feel free to leave your car as an extra obstacle for others and hope for someone's help.
3. No disturbing on non-finished drivers after finishing himself.
4. No rejoining during run - if the car is undriveable, rolled or outside the track, the run is over!
5. Have fun! (also a mandatory rule )
NOTE: After having some incidents in previous years, special attention on rule #3! If you finish your run,you may not interfere others in any way! Serious infractions will lead to disqualification. Also 2nd rule is ignored more and more,so repeated violations might receive ban from this and other RGE events. Let's keep it cool and fair for everyone!
Server behaviour rules:
follow the instructions of admins
no spamming in chat (few known spammers might be quickly kicked if they don't behave)
no insulting others in any way (other than crashing them while in a official run)
join only when allowed
no voting for restart/end/qualification

Reason : Server online and passworded
It has tiny wing on rear, which in theory can be adjusted. Also it provides max 38N downforce at 40m/s which (if I understood correctly) is like extra 38kg weight on wheels at that speed. Deffinitelly not much effect for 1.4 ton car,the option just allows have a little adjustment for higher speeds. If you feel it has too much understeer, set differential to rear as it is AWD car (that's why it's included in this year's AWS schedule).

The season of big changes starts with the classic Blackwood RXGP round in the classic Blackwood Rallycross track, run in reversed direction. But this classic has a big change - the car run here this year is something quite different from what AWS drivers are used to. The new lightweight buggy is 1st ever single seater run in this league through it's 12 seasons. Currently the signup activity is lacking, but between entries there is already one familiar name from few years ago - the 2016 drivers champion. Now the question is - who wants to challenge him in the new era of AWS?
On a typical LFS rallycross track there is no question about tyre selection - only hybrids is a smart choice. The lightweight car can still be rough on the tyres if run too agressivelly on tarmac parts, but the biggest weakness is the clutch - despite need to rev the engine on high notes,it is required to take care of revs, when landing the car from jumps,as a high difference between wheelspeed and groundspeed when landing will torture the clutch to glowing. Track however is the familiar part in this race, still will draw from drivers a lot of effort to enter the 1st turn without losing time to rivals. Even if very alluring, drivers should avoid going fast over last jump - overshooting last turn will be very costly!
* PENALTIES :
RGˆLORENZO - the unserved stop-go penalty is converted in 45 seconds penalty as per LFS standard rules.

The last RTFR XL of this year was held with and FXO,but not a standard one as this has some history before it was used for running in races. It was exported to Australia where it was rebuilt by a finnish car maker to fit in the Australian V8 Supercar series. Later it was reimported back and now featured in our event to give drivers a new challenge. Of course the 1.5 ton 640 horsepower car with minor downforce assistance is everything else than people's car, meaning attendance numbers won't be high, still as in most races, there was plenty of action on track, including some drama due speeding in pitlane and flat tyres as drivers are not so familiar with this car yet.
Even if qualifying advantage wasn't that big,R.Kardol still was quite dominant in the race as he finished 46 seconds ahead of competition, which effectivelly is almost half a lap gap. With this he scored the round number 10 victory in RTFR XL - one less than all time highest of Botsi. The pole position was his 7th,the fastest lap of the race was his 9th (both also 2nd most),but his top5 finish - his 34th. Despite qualifying just 4th,the already secured standings winner Fatal was a runner up in the race, scoring his 11th top5 finish,10th this year. Altsu rejoined RTFR XL after 2 years break and was the closest rival to his leading teammate, but was caught speeding when entering pitlane, which cost him 2nd place in results - instead he finished 3rd,which is his 7th top5 finish. The event host had rather uneventful race, used mistakes of rivals to climb up to 4th position in final results repeating highest result of the year and scoring 28th top5 finish. The author of the mod was bidding for a higher top5 finish, but late in the race had an incident, throwing him down to 5th position, with which Unite rounded his top5 count to 20.
* FUN FACT OF THE MONTH :
Kyoto has been very popular this year - 1/3 of all 12 RTFR XL races of the year were selected to be run in this japanese environment,no other track was selected more than twice. With this Kyoto now tied South City for 2nd place with 13 selections,Aston is still most popular with 14 selections.
* CLOCK PITTER OF THE RACE :
Again a car that could not make the full race distance on single tank even if it's 112 liters large,so everyone had some work on their pitstops. Shortest work was done by Unite's pit crew - they just filled some fuel and Unite spent 10.15 seconds in his pitstall. He was just one of 2 drivers who completed full race distance on same set of tyres.
* FIELD RUSHER OF THE RACE :
...is someone who is quite sensitive about his name even if it feature 2 non-letter characters - M@CI3K (copied from results). He started 16th and gained 5 poitions during the race to finish 11th.
VOD at Youtube:
With this the 2022 active racing is completed in RTFR XL,next race is estimated to be held in 6 weeks. But some activity is still left - even if standings winner is known, the full final results are still to be made. Next week there will be 2 events from our side - first on monday AWS will start it's 12th season with a brand new car. More info and signups in AWS forum section! Second event is on tuesday - the 296th RTFR will be the last of the year, featuring some quite classic combo with some fresh twist. More info will be posted in this weekend.

Pitting rules:
Race requires a minimum time spent in pitstall of 10 seconds. That can be done either with single pitstop or sum of multiple pitstops. Driver who has spent less time will receive penalty time added to his finish time, which will be calculated by tripling the missing time to complete neccesary minimum time and adding additional 5 seconds. Drivers failing to pit at all will receive 1 minute penalty added to finish time (10s*3 + additional 30s).
