Just a quick suggestion and one that I did search for but can't see has already been posted.
I suggest servers should be categorised in to 'Racing', 'dr1Ft0ring' and 'Cruising', and to have an interface to sort / ignore categories at your leisure. Would be pretty a pretty easy implementation too methinks.
Why do I suggest this, I hear you ask?
Well, my heart dies a little death each time I see a well populated server on a good combo and then realise it's a dr1ft or cruise one.
Just going by the quality of Scawen's work to date, I would bet that the AI will be able to at least move from it's line to overtake and avoid, otherwise he wouldn't release it.
However, don't get your hopes up.
Nobody in the history of everything has ever made AI that can replicate the little random and smart (and not so smart) things that humans do. So I don't expect Scawen to suddenly achieve this either.
The presence of 'competent' AI cars on track is all that we should expect, and don't think you'll be able to dice and race with them in the same way as you can with other humans.
Why do other Developers need to wait for 'more powerful PCs' before they step up and boot LFS from it's pedestal?
The key to LFS's success is that development is ongoing. This is a feature that larger development houses will never offer. They will always move on to the next project. That's why LFS is at the top of the pile and will remain there. It has nothing to do with the power of home PCs.
This should explain pretty much everything and took about 0.254456 seconds to find. Seriously, this is the interweb; it's w-a-a-a-y quicker to search for yourself rather than wait for a forum reply.
Well, nobody was right.
As usual, Scawen has dropped a bombshell with a big suprise for the release.
Everyone who bet their $10, please PM me with your address. I'll spend the next 2 years flying around the world collecting my winnings.
Yeah, but TDU doesn't have rocket launchers or sticky grenades which would have been thisnameistaken's number 3 & 4 predictions if he was allowed them.
True, and these thing might be part of the next relese.
However the BF1 was a major focus of that big release many moons ago, but was not announced.
Who knows what's in store for the LFS community?
Who knows what secrets those sneaky Devs are keeping from us?
If you had Ten Bucks to bet on which 2 areas the next release will focus on, what would they be?
You can only choose 2.
Don't ask why, but it's two only.
And don't ask why the bet is for Ten Bucks.
My money is on:
AI
Damage
Some more rules: Speculation on when the release will occur is not allowed, nor is discussion on the speed of development in general.

Reason : changed 'what' to 'which'
I always loved watching Larry race in the wet. He was just so exciting.
I think it was Bathurst 1993 that started in the wet, and Larry turned it on big time.
I couldn't find that video, but I did find some old footage of Seton on slicks, on a wet Mount Panorama in a Bluebird Skyline. Hairy stuff.
The flag marshalling sucked, but why didn't they just take the inside line at that turn to avoid all the crap?
Edwards would have known full well where the danger was.
Exactly the way I feel. Fortunately we are patient people so don't mind the wait. If I was a bit younger, I probably would have bored by now and moved on.
In my old age, I appreciate the devotion that the Devs have poured on to this sim. Just as I hate the way mainstream games are rushed out unfinished, for profit.
I might be a wrinkle ridden Yoda-like hermit living in a swamp by the time S3 arrives, but I will still be happy that I waited.
True, but I will care when I'm watching replays / making movies / taking screenshots.
While I totally agree with Scawen's famous 'this is not a screenshot generator' comment, I also think that anything that makes LFS look better is a good thing.
Sure, enhancements like this won't be on the top of the Dev's 'to do' list (nor should they be), but with texturing talent like Electrik Kar in the community, it would be good to know what is possible.
