This is a function that would be extremely useful to those of us doing judiciary work (and probably those doing vids) that involves reviewing incidents from multiple angles etc. It appreciates the fact that replays are physics based and provides an elegant solution to being able to view a specific event multiple times.
Add a button that records the timestamp when pressed.
Add another that restarts the replay and fast forwards at highest possible pace until the mark is reached, then pauses the playback after switching to slowest or half speed playback mode.
We could then continue from that point on again, with a different angle etc.
This simple solution would go a long way to redress the biggest issues we currently have with the replay system --- and would be greatly appreciated.
We'll be able to view an incident multiple times this way.
Alternatively, allow for the entry of a time stamp at the replay selection screen. The replay fast forwards at best possible pace and then pauses.
I use manual everything when in stick shifting cars. I must admit that I find heel toe downshifting a lot easier in my real car (a Polo GTI 2006) than on my A1s. Maybe I need to adjust the sound settings a bit so that I get more of a feel of the revs going up, but it's probably more to do with the fact that a real brake pedal gives so much more feel and has a much longer travel. Having said that I _am_ trying to get used to it. Shifter is that of a G25.
Speaking as a league administrator who help run weekly events, I very much welcome patch X and the changes are just great from a league point of view. They help us have a much improved league racing experience.
First off a big increase in the numbers who can race on the same server. And then other goodies such as a much more real feeling qualifying and start system, 6DOF support for TrackIR users, etc, etc.
Further to this, with the new insim system I'm expecting that there will be some very clever cooking by the smart cookies. I.e. more 3rd party support. Can't wait for pitspotter to return, hopefully kegetys will update it.
Our collective number one wish after this is probably for fixes to the damage model, which can get a bit interesting sometimes. Then whatever else will just be bonus.
Just quickly chipping in a thanks for the 6DOF support, Scawen. It works flawlessly; tried W26 in league races last night, just adds another dimension of immersion really!
Just wanted to chip in that W21 is a great update! There seems to be lesss popping in of objects of the ground, hopefully that's not just a figment of my imagination (grid lines etc aren't popping, however graphic such as pit entrance still is).
However, more importantly, the ultra wide is $$@%% awesome. I'm restricting myself to just 135 degrees, but wow, it really opens things up. Less work in TrackIR, my two side screens will easily show cars a lot earlier than before.
I did put 3 pounds in, and the skins look great too. Thanks Scawen
Cheers,

ps. the earlier issue of names no longer appearing until you're right on top of them with ultrawide setup does now seem to be resolved. Not sure if it made it into the log or not but all feels natural now.

Reason : (did some further testing, found popping still occuring, thought it was all gone)
Small but very helpful request: It'd be great to get the current three letter code e.g. FE5 (Fern Bay Rallycross) displayed in game.
Why? So as to better be able to chose a setup for each car, primarily.
Whilst having setups saved in folders by track and car e.g. (folder:XRT_FE5 filename:myqual.set) would be the ultimate end goal, current practice is to use the three letter code in the name of the setup.
I can however for the life of me never remember these codes. An ingame display (preferably the one showing number of laps, tyre setup etc) would therefore be great.
Yeah, thanks Smith for all your hard work - we down here at mondaynightracing.com have been using it extensively in our league racing. It'd be wonderful if you could open source it to let someone else pick up where you have left it off, but of course that will be down to your situation - completely understand either way.
Brilliant work on the latest patch! I got some screenshots from our latest league race and ctrl+s just made it SO much easier. Those mirrors sure looked nice too, can't wait to test them in race.
Now, on thing I was wondering about, I'm on a 3H2G setup and have noticed what appears to me as a small glitch - I can only see another racer's name tag when I'm almost right on top of the guy in front.
I only installed the test patch after the race so not sure if you touched anything here. Would it be possible to have the display distance as a factor in a config file or something similar to that? I kind of like not seeing the tag when they're far away, but at the moment I'd like to see it a bit earlier than what I get now.
+1 {or all my points for this year!!} for increased connection limit. The 20 limit is hurting us bad. We're forced to run 2 servers when we have 25 odd racers.
My 1 year plan is to get that and replace my monitors with 3 even 19" 4:3 LCDs. The computer becomes dedicated for racing and a new one takes place of the desktop for other games and admin work.
Seems noone picked up on it, but the link in my post contains some vids I did of LFS and rFactor. Didn't compress them too much so a good connection and/or patience is probably recommended. Whilst not as neat as three LCDs, they do show off the triplehead functionality pretty well. GPU is a Gainward 512MB 7800GS AGP running at 1024x768x3 (because it won't do 75hz in 1280x1024 - and I do really prefer 85, 60 is unbearable on CRTS).
Uh, pic didn't work. Anyway - are those 22"s of the 4:3 variant? If so, what brand are they? They look pretty sharp. Would love some big sized 4:3s to replace my misc. config setup.

Same here. Our weekly league race is scheduled to start at 9:30PM Sydney time (GMT+10) tonight (1 hours and 20 mins), really hoping it'll be back up by then. :P
First of all, this is a totally awesome mod. I had taped over the leds as they were just annoying, but now they have a real function and the tape is gone. It makes it so much easier to know what's going on.
The only problem I have is that I also discovered the great pitspotter program. When enabling that with /insim 29999 it also disables outgage and therefore momo leds.
How can I run both at the same time? Can I?? Many thanks!
I just had an idea for what I think would be a great compromise in the rewind request.
Have a function to SET TIME MARKER, e.g. THIS is where I want my replay to start from next time I watch it. E.g., the interesting stuff I wanted to review on lap 32 starts in just a few moments, so I'm going to use this point in time as a basis for checking my replays.
Then have a REWIND/RESET TO MARKER function that fully restarts the replay and calculates itself forward to the marker at highest possible speed; I'm sure noone would care too greatly if it looked exactly like what we have now on 32x.
Once position is found, goes into pause or the slowest playback setting for the user to speed up by clicking F3.
