Hörenbaum wins the last race before summer break

A big challenge was waiting for the drivers before the summer break. On the Fern Bay Black circuit there’s a fine line between driving on or over the limit, the cars are under heavy load as well, requesting every bit of attention by the drivers. We also could invite „Xcite Dragon Racing“, who had a great debut in qualifying.

Both drivers made it into the second qualifying. But shortly after it has started Nelson Marques, contender for the championship had to his session after oversteering his slightly damaged car. Sascha Riegler, driver for Xcite Dragon Racing, took pole-position in front of spdos Carten Hörenbaum by just 0.11 seconds. Rumors developed that Riegler has a very light car, but if he wins the start it could pay off.

The red lights went off and Riegler stormed away, leaving Hörenbaum behind him, who had to defend himself against Adam Wisniewski, driver for 1stBFA and leader of the championship, for the second position. But the order stayed like it was before and no risky actions were taken and no accidents happened during the start phase. The other driver of the 1stBFA was Matthias Felix who lost a few positions at the start but surprised Björn Rottland of Xcite Dragon Racing at the bridge. A bit later Speedfreaks Damon Ryder made a mistake that made him last of the field.

But Ryder and SpeedCores Nelson Marques, who started ninth after his qualifying mistake, could easily make up positions as they weren’t the only ones doing mistakes. Next to Peter Hopkins was also Pedro Marques, who had to retire early. IRTs Sebastian Cron, who was stuck behind Marques for a long time, couldn’t benefit from that as he had to retire as well.
At the front Riegler went early to the pits as expected. Hörenbaum and Wisniewski stayed out four laps longerwhich allowed Hörenbaum to take the lead, Wisniewski came out just a few seconds behind Riegler, but a small mistake by Riegler at the first chicane let him move forward to second position.

Hörenbaum made a short stop which led to a three-stop strategy unlike Wisniewski, who planned two stops and was on a good way when the former couldn’t increase the gap before his second stop. But Wisniewski lost for a few laps his consistency that made it easier for Hörenbaum to stay in front of him after his third stop. Another one who made great progress was Zimmermann, who started from the last place with a full tank, normally a no-go on a track with many turns, but he found himself on third position after Riegler had to made his second stop earlier than planned. A damper failure – what else on this track – was the reason for that. He fell behind Nelson Marques and was on fourth position. Riegler was more in trouble when he did a mistake before the bridge and destroyed the left side of the car. A spin at the fast chicane shortly after that marked the end of a debut race that started so well.

Wisniewski lost in his five laps after the last stop so much time that Hörenbaum was out of reach when he rejoined the track. Hörenbaum wins his second race in this season in front of Wisniewski, while Marques drove safely to his third podium finish in a row. After almost ninety minutes the battle for fourth was still running between Felix and Zimmermann. After Felix did a very long stop at the pits he fell behind Zimmermann, but a better exit out of the fast chicane gave him a chance to overtake although Zimmermann was on the inside line. But the latter broke too late and went thorugh the grass. After recovering both were side by side but then Felix was on the inside and took fourth. Zimmermann wanted to keep track of him but a curb ruined his damper and therefore had to back off. Luckily for him Damon Ryder, who took sixth, was too far away to took advantage. Thelast points went to Franz-Josef Stumm on seventh and Björn Rottland on eighth, scoring the first points for his team.

Wisniewski increases his amount of points up to 56 over Marques and is now eight points in front of him, but just one unlucky race and Marques and even Hörenbaum with 31 points are back in the race. In the team championship the 1stBerlinFunAgency-RacingTeam leads with just about twenty points ahead of SpeedCore and spdo, but with six races left nothing is decided yet.

The OWRL F1 season goes into a summer break. We will come back at 5th September with the race on Kyoto National, followed by the start of our fifteenth S2 Season. Keep Racing!

We are one race away from the desired summer break, but with the Fern Bay Black circuit one big challenge is still waiting for the drivers. In recent years the curbs were a controversial subject in almost every series and the OWRL F1 is no exception. Expecially the BF1 is very sensitive going over these so called suspension-destroyer. In the last two years we saw many pitstops, at least three on average for each driver, SKs Nils Naujoks won two years ago with five(!) stops, last year spdos Carsten Hörenbaum started from the third row and needed three stops before taking the last win at Fern Bay.

Setting up a car who survives the curbs with the least damage is one key for a good result, concentration and stamina another. Run-off areas are very small, the track is narrow but the speed is high. Waiting for mistakes of other won't be rewarded more often than next to the jamaican beach of Fern Bay.

The first qualifying starts at 19:30 CEST, the race over 47 laps shortly after 8pm. The event can be followed via LfS Remote.

Third win for Wisniewski this season

This track is well-known to the drivers but still new to them, because unlike the pre-season drivers are now allowed to use the traction control, a gift considering the amount of turns on this track. That doesn't mean the race was going to be easy.

It already began in the first qualifying, when Pedro Marques drove a new personal best that was good for ninth but bad for Damon Ryder, who was now runnning eleventh and still on a fast lap. But Sascha Zimmermann was relieved when Ryder crossed the line without making it into the top ten. Going into the second part everything was straight forward. But neither Wisniewski nor Marques or Gießler took Pole. It was Matthias Agari who drove the fastest lap time. But due to technical problems three drivers had to retire from qualifying and they ended up starting eighth, ninth and tenth. One of them was Agari, who had to pass the top starting position to Jürgen Gießler.

The way to turn one is short, so Gießler can defend his position without a problem. Wisniewski however was starting on the outside and that allowed Marques a attack him. Both are driving side by side into turn one but Wisniewski stays in front of Marques. Everyone makes it through the first turn and are heading now towards the Eau Rouge. Agari and Silhanek couldn’t really decide, who wants to go first and touch. Both slow down a bit and continue, but that put Damon Ryder, Nenad Zivkovic and Sascha Zimmermann in trouble, who can’t react anymore and drive into the rear of the car in front of them. While Zimmermann and Ryder, who has to drive a heavily damaged car back to the pits, can continue Zivkovic has to retire. At the front Marques has to give up his third place after missing the brake point in the hairpin before split four. Wisniewski was hunting Gießler for two laps until he finally passed him. But Gießler followed him closely until the first round of pit stops.

The first driver was Carsten Hörenbaum who did a very short stop and after everyone else was pitting he found himself in second position behind Wisniewski. Gießler couldn’t be found on the standings anymore after his team had a problem with their fueling system which left him stuck on track without any fuel left. Marques was still third but under pressure from Zimmermann who did a very long first stint. After he went to the pits Sebastian Cron from Innovate Racing was on fourth in his first OWRL F1 race and one stint later on third after Hörenbaum had to do an extra pitstop to change his tyres after he ruined them in a spin. While Wisniewski was left alone early at the front it was Marques who had to drive alone on second after Hörenbaum made his mistake. Zimmermann was fourth after his second pit stop but a broken damper gave Hörenbaum the chance to stole his position. Ramon Ryder was one second away from also overtaking Zimmermann and therefore finished sixth. On seventh was Pedro Marques who scored his first points this season in front of Franz-Josef Stumm who got the first point since race two.

Wisniewski extends his lead over Marques in the drivers championship and is now six points ahead of him. Carsten Hörenbaum on third is already 27 points away, but seven races are still to come. The next race will take place on 4th July at Fern Bay Black, a challenging circuit for cars and drivers before we go into the summer break.

Aston North in a different way
germanpio
S2 licensed

On this Saturday the OWRL F1 takes place at the Aston North Circuit in the reversed configuration that was never been used during a F1 season in the past two years except for this years pre season under different circumstances. Last year the race was run on the standard version of the North track and saw the day of 1stBFA's Matthias Felix who surprisingly took Pole and second place. It was almost like Blackwood, where all drivers argued that the suspension won't survive 59 times the fast chicane, often compared to the famous Eau Rouge of Spa. But Matthias Agari of Factory Phantom Racing was easy enough on his car to manage only with two stops to finish first on his run to his championship title.

But this year is different, new favorites for the win and two drivers next to Agari who finished already second but never on top of the podium: Silhanek and Hopkins, who was close last race. This year the fast chicane comes right after the start and the race could be over for some drivers faster than they need to run up that hill.

The first qualifying starts at 19:30 CEST and can be followed via LfS Remote.
Debut win for Nelson Marques and SpeedCore

It was late in the evening when the first qualifying was held at the Blackwood GP, the fifth round of this years OWRL F1. Again it was all about getting into the Top 10 which was a decision of an inch when Zivkovic and Felix drove exact the same time. Zivkovic drove the time earlier so he moved on but he didn’t play an important role in the second part. Although everyone drove with the amount of fuel they intended to start the race with lap times were close at the front. In the end Peter Hopkins took his first pole position in front of Martin Silhanek and Jürgen Gießler. Adam Wisniewski, leader of the championship was fourth.

It was almost over for Sascha Zimmermann before the race even got started when he realized that he has chosen the wrong tyres but he decided just in time to start from the pits. This decision could pay off seeing that not everything was running smoothly in turn one. Gießler won the race until the first turn against Silhanek and took 2nd behind Hopkins, while Wisniewski stayed behind Silhanek. But Wisniewski touched him slightly at the back which made him spin facing the other direction of the field. Matthias Agari took advantage of the accident and took even second place behind Hopkins after Gießler was running wide. At the back Klein hit Ramon Ryder in the rear who has to pit for damage. Agari also had to pit after a few laps for new tyres after starting with the soft compound.

Fighting back was Martin Silhanek who was in second place after thirteen laps, but soon the pit stop window came nearer and therefore it was again a question of changing tyres or repair damage. The chicane left its marks on the suspension and many drivers had to repair the damage. One driver that did not was Nelson Marques, he even didn’t change his tyres and drove constantly behind the leaders, waiting for the moment. Most of the drivers changed their tyres during the second stop and late-stopping drivers like Wisniewski, Gießler and Hörenbaum took the lead for a few laps Hopkins was leader after the first round of pit stops with a huge gap in front of Wisniewski who had secured the 2nd place but an incident involving four other cars forced him to stop a few laps earlier than plannend. That was the chance for Marques and Hörenbaum, who stopped again late and short to stay in front of Wisniewski. Gießler could’ve also been with them, but a very long second stop threw him out of the fight for the podium.

Marques came out just behind Hopkins and stayed there for roughly ten laps. But the SpeedCore driver was faster and after a few trials he took the lead when Hopkins ran wide at the last turn. He built up a gap of five seconds that saved him to the finish for his first win in the OWRL F1. Hopkins was lucky that he didn’t fall behind Hörenbaum after his mistake and therefore ended up second. Wisnewski missed the podium for the first time after thee podium finishes in a row. One lap behind the top five finished Matthias Felix in front of Martin Silhanek and Milan Radonic, who scored his first point this season.
Marques and Wisniewski are now the only ones who finished every race in the top four and therefore are leading the championship sepereated by four points, while 1stBFA still leads the team championship, but three other teams are within reach. The next race takes place at the Aston North Reversed circuit on 20th June. At the moment the FBM Trophy organized by the OWRL is also running, so make sure to check it out.

Gießler dominates but Wisniewski wins his second race
germanpio
S2 licensed
Jürgen Gießler of Innovate Racing was leading the time sheets prior to the Qualifying and left no doubt that he was the favorite for this race after stunning the rest of the field with P1 after both qualifyings. Wisniewski and Silhanek lined up behind him. Peter Hopkins could have been there also, but an incident in the pitlane at the beginning of Q2 leaves him with no time which means P10 for him. But the race would be the longest of the season so nothing is lost, but chances are high on South City Long that everything could be over in turn 2.

When the lights went out Gießler could get away from the cars behind him, but he almost runs wide in turn 2 and gives Wisniewski a chance to attack. Behind the top three Matthias Agari overtakes Southword for fourth place and Pedro Marques almost spins Milan Radonic. At the next turn Marques brakes too late and hits 1stBFA’s driver Matthias Felix in the back who spins and stops on the racing line, creating a pile up but the rest of the drivers manages to get past them without harm. After the eventful start the field has sorted itself after the first sector.

What no one knows is that the big accident is still coming. Southword and Agari are changing positions on the start finish straight and under the bridge Southword loses downforce on the front and spins at 300 kph. While Hörenbaum is able to slow down avoiding the spinning car Zivkovic doesn’t react in time and hits Hörenbaum who flies through the air and can’t continue his race with a heavy damaged car. Radonic isn’t that lucky either and crosses the path of Southwords car, but both cars get away with relatively mid damage. Once the smoke vanished away, it was the usual race often seen in Monaco with small mistakes by several drivers which spread the grid over the whole race track.

Agari and Wisniewski were the first drivers to do a pit stop. While Agari planned to do three stops, the majority were on two stops with changing tyres only once. Gießler wanted to change his tyres on both stops and after everyone went to the pits he still had fuel for seven more laps. That enhanced with Pole-Position, because every driver that makes it to the second part of qualifying has to drive with race fuel. He didn’t even lose his lead after his second stop, but his right damper at the rear was suffering during the race and shortly after his second stop it happenend. On the railroad that crosses the track before turn one his damper broke and let him crash into the wall. Gießlers race was over and Wisniewski was the new leader. Behind him were two drivers with different strategies: Agari as mentionend planning three stops and Martin Silhanek doing just two stops without even changing the tyres. Silhanek is able to save his tyres thorugh the race so Agari has to be happy with the third place. Wisniewski, who took fresh tyres at his last stop can drive freely to his second win of the season.

Nelson Marques finished fourth in front of Peter Hopkins and Nenad Zivkovic. Both were on a three stop strategy followed by Damon Ryder who drove a rather unspectacular race in front of Matthias Felix who gets the last point after he spun after the start and fighting the whole race with Milan Radonic.
Wisniewski is still leading the championship nine points ahead of Nelson Marques and Dave Southword, who announced his retirement after the race. Like in the drivers championship 1stBFA is leading the Team championship after four of thirteen races. Next race will be on 6th June at Blackwood GP.

On Saturday evening we have our first highlight of the 2009 OWRL F1 season. Tons of grand stands and kilometres of safety rails have turned the city into a racing track. The fourth race of the season will also be the longest, so concentration is more essential than ever. Dave Southword and Danny Engels have been proving their skills in the last two years winning the race with different strategies, so we can expect an exciting race today at 20:05 CEST.

The event starts at 19:30 CEST and can be followed via LfS Remote.
Dave Southword wins after a close finish in Kyoto

After finishing 2nd last year Southword was one of the favorites for at least a podium finish, but this year it was clear that he has to face more opponents. One of them is Wisniewski who is leading the championship not to mention both spdo drivers Hörenbaum and Silhanek, who just couldn’t achieve the results which would match their speed. Another two were Southwords teammate Pete Hopkins and SpeedCore driver Nelson Marques, who improved compared to last season in almost every category. It was no wonder that all six formed the first three rows on the grid led by Martin Silhanek, followed by Innovate Racing driver Jürgen Gießler with a full fuel tank who was lucky enough to reach Q2 while driving the same time in Q1 as Milan Radonic who had to spectate after the first qualifying. My3id Racing took part for the first time and got with James Peace one driver into Q2 who starts on tenth.

All eyes were on Turn 3 as the starting signal was given but a good start still was essential because of the long full-throttle section until turn two. Hörenbaum went pass his teammate to lead the field into the following turns while Wisniewski went from 6th to 3rd. With slight contacts but without any incidents the cars went into turn three when Sascha Zimmermann hit the other My3id driver Benji Crooks in the back and spins him but luckily no one else was involved. Peace isn’t that lucky and has to give up a few laps later after a little damage on the suspension although he went up to 7th for a short time. Hörenbaum also drops back from 1st to 4th.

At lap 16 the first stops were plannend. Silhanek was the first in the pits followed by Wisniewski and Marques who were 4 laps longer than Silhanek but couldn’t take advantage of it. Hörenbaum was at the front when he had to retire with technical problems. Gießler was leading he field and one could have thought he would make only one stop after pitting in lap 29 of 60, but his stop was short compared to how long it had to be. None of the top drivers were changing their tyres at the first stop so it was a question of preventing the tyres to slide through the corners and letting them live as long as possible.

Before the second round of pitstops Silhanek again was at the front and again he had to stop earlier than the others. This time Wisniewski followed by Southword stopped six laps later and came out in front of him. Hopkins just came out in front of Marques who needed three laps to overtake Hopkins for 5th position what turned out as 4th when Gießler had to stop late for his second stop after leading for seven laps. During that time Silhanek was just behind Wisniewskin and Southword. After overtaking Southword he reached second place but lost it three laps later after trying to outbrake Wisniewski in the final section of the track. Silhanek hits him on the rear and spins giving Southword the 2nd place. With Gießler surely staying behind the Top 5 after his stop Wisniewski was chased from Southword. Silhanek was third while defending himself against Marques while Hopkins was keeping a safe distance on 5th. Wisniewski and Silhanek were suffering from a damaged suspension that let them vulnerable to their opponents. All were seperated within five seconds and no differences in lap times.

Silhanek was able to save himself in front of Marques while Wisniewski misjudged the exit of the last turn that led to the oval part giving Southword the chance to attack a few laps before the finish. Wisniewski was at front until the entry of turn two when Southword overtook him for the lead on the outside and staying there until the finish. Gießler finished 6th in the lead lap, the rest of the field was lapped. Cile Rosic reached 7th scoting another two points for the Serbian Chromed Pistons followed by SpeedFreak’s Damon Ryder who saves one point in front of Franz-Josef Stumm who was one second per lap faster in the final stages of the race but still couldn’t reach him.

Wisniewski still leads the drivers championship in front of Marques and Southword, but everything is possible, even for the drivers behind them. In the team championship 1stBFA leads Sonicrealms Racing by three little points. The next race will take place at the streets of South City long, one of two races at the city this season on Saturday, 23rd May.

Adam Wisniewski wins in Westhill and leads the championship
germanpio
S2 licensed
Adam Wisniewski managed to keep his car on the reversed International configuration and benetitted from a few errors from Carsten Hörenbaum who lead the race overall until the second round of pitstops. We saw a full grid with 26 drivers ready to go, but first things first.

The first qualifying was all about getting into Q2 and with sixteen drivers within one second it would be close. 1stBFA’s Matthias Felix reached the tenth place with three drivers behind him inside two hundreth of a second. Q2 ran without incidents with SpeedCore’s Nelson Marques taken the Pole-Position in front of Peter Hopkins and Wisniewski. Marques needed this Pole because he had to serve a Drive-through penalty in the first three laps, but he dropped back to seventeenth position after the penalty.

In turn one Marques hold his position followed by Wisniewski who passed Hopkins on the outside. Running 4-wide through a corner was never a good idea, but except for hitting and spinning nothing happenend in the middle of the pack. Before the turn Schönig touched Dominic Klein that sent him through the grass and into the car of SCP’s Igor Fermevc. KomaCrew’s Reinisch drift through the left-right before the first split and hit Milan Radonic who was fighting back after a +10 grid position penalty. At the front Wisniewski tried a risky move on Marques but backed off early enough. After other drivers were serving their penalties Hopkins was second for half a lap after running wide at the exit of the fast chicane. Wisniewski enjoyed the lead for three laps after handing it over to Hörenbaum who again drove the best lap of the race.

A bit unluckier than last race was Dave Southword. He was in fourth position until lap ten when he did the same mistake as his teammate Hopkins and dropped back to ninth and after his third stop later in the race he stopped his car. Overall eleven cars didn’t reach the finish out of a full grid, but last races on this circuit showed that this was expected. Most of the drivers went for a two-stop strategy and although Wisniewski could stay out longer than Hörenbaum he stayed behind him until the last-mentionend went into the wall at the fast chicane and took a lot of damage out of the contact. Both were running in their own league so Wisniewski was left without an opponent and drove his race safely home.

The second place wasn’t cleary given to any driver until the finish line. Matthias Felix was driving on third midway of the race followed by Speedfreaks driver Damon Ryder and Hörenbaums teammate Martin Silhanek, who also had a Drive-through penalty to serve. Silhanek had late pitstops and was listed on 2nd after Hörenbaum dropped back, but another stop let him become 7th in the end. Felix was on second position but Nelson Marques, coming out of nowhere, jumped back onto second place after overtaking Felix in the final lap. He couldn’t increase the gap between him and Felix but he was able to secure second in front of him and Ryder, followed by Franz-Josef Stumm who finished 5th scoring another three points for the second Innovate Racing team although he was pitting at the very last lap to take that extra fuel needed for the last 5.2 kilometres. Damon Ryder’s brother Ruud took 6th place and Cile Rosic scored the first point for the Serbian Chromed Pistons.

It's getting dark at Westhill

Tonight the OWRL F1 sees its first race under sunset conditions. The second event of the 2009 season takes place at the Westhill International Circuit where the drivers face the reversed configuration. Championship leader Carsten Hörenbaum is also leading the time sheets before Qualifying at 19:30 CEST. But on this short and extremely fast circuit the first seventeen drivers are within a second so a very close race is expected.. Last year Andreas Scheuermann, driver for Innovate Racing drove to his second win in his third OWRL F1 race, the Pole-Position however was taken by Dave Southword, who won the Division A championship last weekend. Both two and three stop strategies are expected here with the short pitlane and fast turns where a heavy car can lose many seconds in one lap.

Teams and drivers received the server information last night. The race can be followed via LfS Remote.
Carsten Hörenbaum wins the season opener in Aston

Carsten Hörenbaum of spdo Racing has won the first race in Aston in front of Dave Southword (Sonicrealms Racing) and Nelson Marques, driver of SpeedCore Racing. Constant driving combined with well-timed pitstops gave him the upper hand on this fast track, but things didn’t look quite well during the race.

Before the race two qualifying sessions were held and it was very close around the 10th position that gives access to the second part. The 2008 champion Matthias Agari found himself 9th in the end, just making it in the Top 10 while three times MRT champion Jürgen Gießler just missed it by 0.06 seconds behind Sascha Zimmermann. In the second part all drivers wanted to burn as much fuel as possible, but for Hörenbaum and Southword things didn’t worked out as planned as they lost concentration and spun, Southword had to pit for damage, but also took the time for a new set of tyres which gave him pole-position by half a second in front of Innovate Racing driver Martin Macjon and Adam Wisniewski, who was driving for 1stBFA and also starting from the pits after a rule infringement.

Now it was time to let 24 Formula 1 cars rush to the first turn, always a dangerous situation and this time it wasn’t different. At the front Macjon had a great start and moved to the front within two hundred metres. At the back Andy Schönig spun on his own but took no one else with him into the barrier. But both drivers of the AutoMotoTrke.net Sim Racing Team were out in the first sector after Milan Radonjic hit his teammate Nenad Zivkovic in the back at turn one. Both cars get damaged and doesn’t make it to the pits.Going down to the hairpins Hörenbaum gets pushed to the outside by Nelson Marques while a few places behind them the second driver of spdo, Martin Silhanek, spins Matthias Agari.

With Macjon at the front the first laps flew by, until Southword, who was staying close to Macjon got onto the grass at the entry of the final chicane and went straight to the barrier that closes the way to the club circuit, but didn’t touch it and continued on 5th with Krinninger on his tail. Behind them was a big pack of drivers fighting for every inch on the track while battling for positions seven to twelve. While Marques took second place, Sascha Zimmermann was driving on third place in his first OWRL F1 league race.

After lap 9 the first pitstops were done. Wisniewski, who was starting from the pits fought his way through the field up to fourth when he made his stop. Leading was Zimmermann, but a very long stop made him fall back to eighth. Even Peter Hopkins was temporary second although falling back to twelvth after the start. Soon the field has sorted itself again with Macjon at the front, but once there he makes an error on the fast left-right hander in the second sector and has to give up with a damaged suspension.

Southword has made a short stop and was on his way to the front and overtook Marques and two laps before his second stop Hörenbaum. Marques got close to the leader as well, but then Hörenbaum drove away with one fast lap after another, and with enough fuel for seven more laps the gap was big enough for staying at the front even after his second and final stop. Marques stayed out just a few laps longer than Southword and came out in front of him. But Southword was faster and in the final laps, he overtook him for second place. The gap to the leader was ten seconds, but even though Hörenbaum was driving safely to keep his tyres alive, he couldn’t get him anymore and kept the second position in front of Nelson Marques. The fourth place goes to Adam Wisniewski with a late second pitstop in front of Peter Hopkins and last years champion Matthias Agari. The last points go to Sascha Zimmermann on seventh and Damon Ryder on eighth, who can rescue himself into the finish in front of the flying Jürgen Gießler behind him.

From April to November the third OWRL F1 will run for the third time. The season consists of thirteen races in a bi-weekly schedule with a summer recess of two months. Three races will be held under sunset conditions

Prior to the season we organized two test races to see if we may forbid traction control but the admins decided to stick with 2008 rules and to allow traction control. One of many reasons was that the car was built to have it and to keep it real, we decided to leave things as they are. However we enforced a new rule that we use now realnames in the OWRL F1.

Again we want teams to participate with two drivers per race. Teamless and interested drivers can take part for a team that cannot start with two drivers by contacting a driver of that team. Also temporary teams only for OWRL F1 may be formed to take part. Teams can now apply by sending us a mail to "[email protected]". Applications are open until Tuesday, 24 March 23:00 UTC. After that we will decide which teams will take part. Your application should contain the exact teamname and LfSworld names of at least two drivers that will drive during the season. Teams are allowed to change drivers between races.

We like to invite you to another OWRL F1 test event under championship conditions without traction control.

            How to take part?
Send a mail/pm to germanpio / owrl.league©gmail.com. There are 26 spots available. Additional drivers will be put on a waiting list.

            Rules
Even if its a test event we will check the drivers to respect the rules. Incidents will be investigated with possible consequences for the 2009 season. In Addition to the "no traction control" rule, which is only for this event in effect, we decided to switch to realnames for the OWRL F1.

            Date: 31 January
            Track: Kyoto National
            Qualifying 1: 15 minutes
            Qualifying 2: 10 minutes (no shift + P,S / only Top 10 drivers of Q1)
            Race: 60 laps

Make sure to read and understand the OWRL F1 rules which are different on some points!

            Time table:
            - 19:30 - 19:45 Qualifying all drivers
            - 19:50 - 20:00 Top 10 Qualifying
            - 20:10 Race (60 laps)

All times are CET! If you are not sure on time zones, check the difference between your time and the current german time.
