So, where do those noses come from? What regulation / idea is behind it?
Would be a true shame to see Spa swap with France every now and then, however the Paul Ricard circuit is a sweet one allowing a lot of agressive driving and passing. So that makes up a lot of my FFFFFFFFFFFF. But yeah, they'd better throw out a boring track like Valencia. Spa doesn't generate enough funds: Wallonian governement doesn't subsidise enough and the event itself is not profitable for some reason, I'd not be surprised if corruption had to do with that. Dropping visitors also has to do with the globalisation of F1 I think: such distant locations making it a "too far from their bed show", the casual F1 viewers forgeting about F1, dropping interest due to the high prices (going with your family to a F1 race in Spa is might expensive!), ...

D'Ambrosio often qualified ahead of Glock, didn't crashed in any races (unlike Glock) and always drove the car without the new Virgin updates since those went to Glock, didn't cause massive blue flag trouble unlike the HRT and... he do is a rookie. Performing equally overall to Glock as a rookie I wouldn't call "being dominated by Glock". Behind the HRTs? Where do you get that from?
Not to mention D'Ambrosio's previous past where he did dominate his GP2 teammates and several highly talented racers.
I think Virgin knows that very well or he wouldn't be racing for Virgin in the first place, seeing they took him above other pilots with more cash. The question more is: will they pick talent again above cash?
It's doubtful he can stay though unless he finds bigger sponsors. Sucks to see how much cash goes to football and other sports but none to our talented Belgian racers. It's strange seeing our national racing history, having Spa, Zolder and so much more to offer.
Going to send back my package and swap for the GTR3RS + clubsport pedal package. The quality isn't bad, don't get me wrong, but I had expected better and an improvement over my old MS Sidewinder FF wheel. This is just too much near the (awesome) quality of my old one.
Going to make myself a new table to mount the wheel on, so I can replace the wheelstand. On itself I'm happy about it, really does its job, but doesn't fit entirely under my desk and as such I sit a bit too far from the screen to be great. Again good quality, but not entirely what I had anticipated.
Good service from Fanatec though, short on words but efficient German style.
Anyway, seems I should have taken the clubsport pedals and the GT3 wheel. Throttle pedal is very loose which is good, but the cluth blocks halfway and then pushes completely through. Much bigger issue is how the braking pedal is like a rock hard stone; I can't do moderate braking and if I push my full power on the brake needed to have max breaking, then the whole pedal set moves due to the force I have to put on it...
The decent servers prevent people from driving backwards, when they try they get auto-pitted or kicked. So all in all it indeed comes down to finding a better server or a better hour to play at where more serious sim racers are up.
You might also want to check out to participate in some leauges; not all of them require you to be a top champion to adhere to a washinglist of rules and skin rules and whatever, eg. The Original LFS League (OLFSL). Gives very good racing, goals to prepare for, new combo's to learn, ect... But not a must to have good online racing in LFS, it can occur in daily public racing too, just got to find the right server and people (like in every game).
Just wanted to drop a note not to forget to follow us on our website, facebook page or forum. We're also easily found on the Official V8 Supercar website, I wonder why...
Shall I give a hint?!
V8 Supercars 2011 Online Season.
Perhaps a visual hint?! Phillips Island race start:
These are also interesting Bose. Heared some about the Fanatec wheels but didn't really check them yet. Comparable quality to the Logitech ones? 200 euros for the stand, pedals and wheel seems like a great price - better than the DFGT!
Someone has experience with them? eg. are the metal plate for under the pedals required to purchase extra, or any other "get that while you're at it cause it's much better than the standard" advice?
Does LFS support "6+1 Speed gear stick with correct dimensions"?
Thanks for the write up Pärtan, useful information indeed. Though the G25 brings me with the problem of buying second hand, something I do not like to do...
Looking to buy a new wheel for LFS. I read about the DFGT being the much cheaper and pretty equally as good version of a G27 and with 21 buttons instead of 2. Then again reviews seem to say it has the shifter located on a wrong spot? Should I go for a DFGT or are there other options out there these days?
My one and only wheel before was a MS Sidewinder FF which too bad died out entirely. Such epic quality for its time!
God, I love Spa Francochamps. What a beautiful track. Excellent camera angles also, finally we saw F1 cars having speed also with the plain eye. I mean, you could actually see that they went eg. 180km/h through a turn ect...
Fine race, dropped some pace at the end but nevertheless a very fine race! Lots of paces, some debris, some maths and great show.
This is F1, not those boring Dubai nonsense tracks.
