you have a customer come to you, tell you what they want, you outline find what there needs are and then you give them the product in a given time frame and at the quality you outlined, how the hell does that tie in with LFS and the way the devs and the gaming world works on the whole???, its not even close and you know it..

so if your the business man you say you are how come you find it so hard to understand the languages idea??? personly its the best thing the devs ever did from a business point of view..

you then start blabbing how YOU... CHOOSE... to open sorce all your work, im not knocking you for that i thinks its nice of you to do such a thing no matter how small the program, but so do a lot of other guys here in LFS and they aint crying wolf.... you knew you wasn't buying a FULL game so if the devs shut up shop tomorow who are we to complain??..

i have brought many things in my life that are a load of ball's, but it dont matter wich way you cut ya cloth i made the decision to buy, when i payed for LFS i looked at what LFS offered i made the decision to pay and LFS lived up to that, if the devs shut up shop the next day after i payed i carnt complain, the product was as described..

lets use your web-design scenario...

a customer hire's you to build a site they sell car's.... you complete the job you get paid.. 3 months latter they come knocking your door saying they now sell motorbikes and your site doesnt show this.... (actualy had this one) the customer paid for a site selling cars.. if they want bikes added they better cough up the dosh, you wouldnt be to pleased if they was spouting crap on your doorstep infront of the neighbours would ya???? so why do it here????

the cut and dry of it is, you brought product as described end off, in the TOC it say's jack about how many updates and in what time frame, yes you are allowed to have your opinion on the current state of LFS, but your comming over like you want ya money back or somthing, i have a loft filled with 40/50 quid games i played for 2 days and never fired up again i aint jumping all over E.A's forums spreading the crap, and thats the next point i have a pet hate for E.A one of the biggest and apart from the sports stuff they spew out crap after crap, these companies get ya in the net for 50 quid and dont give a tos after that, doesnt matter if crashes on lvl 4 they have ya money..

Again you knew full well what you was buying into, they aint got the manpower of the big guns and you knew that...

if when you came to LFS the was 1 car 1 track with packman like grafix but the site said "buy now and in a year this will look twice as good as gran turismo and have the physics of a F1 simulator" would you have punched your CC number in????? NO...... you knew it was in alpha/beta and you KNOW that 40% alpha/beta programs go bang (unless there backed by the big guns.. in witch case they sell you the shity end result anyway) so what have you got to moan about???

if i sell you my car and the engine is dead, i tell you the situation and say with all the best intentions "ill do my best to fit a new engine" do you buy it saying to yourself "he will fit a new engine" OR "i may be buying a car here without a engine.." if you would think the former you are a fool and im suprised you can afford a internet connection...

as regards development WE JUST DONT KNOW.. scawen could release a patch this week with 10 new tracks and 200 new cars (doubtfull granted) we just dont know... although you seem to have inside info on this i wish you would share!!...

last thing... if i here another comment like "progress has been slow since scawen had kids" my blood's gona boil.....

yea yea its a "business" ive been there m8 but at the end of the day, money is just paper and bollox to the job/customer... if i could give scawen a bit of advice now it would be turn off the PC stuff LFS and take the misses and kids out...

hamy pits, he see's them to scraping and the pure racer in him kicks in again, he just nails it....., bet he didnt even see lights while in pits he was to heated to get away and once they went flying past the old red mist really did come down, all that was in his head was to catch them 2 thats it.... then he realises they aint moving hits the achors and wam bam ....

we seem it when he hit the wrong button off the grid..., hamilton is one of the quickest in F1 but i have to say hes crap when put under preasure, thats how alonso won his 2 titles, those seasons nothing shook him (maybe 2x) but he was solid, now alonso has a chip on his sholder, so i dont care what car he's in no WC for him and i have to say i dont think hamilton will win it either, he's not coping well enough under pressure, personly its either kimi or kubica for the WC, there the 2 strongest and with blistering pace...

we have it in LFS... doing good lap times, somthing rocks ya and you end up not seing and barrier ... hes got the ability but he needs to calm his head down in presured situations..., util then if hamy wins WC it will be the bad luck of the other drivers or one hell of a quick car all season...

well got all the gear on next day with overclockers ...

poped it together and its pretty quick, full AI grid maked out 75FPS with no drops, (only 75fps due to crappy monitor)..

im not gona bother with overclock just yet its eating everthing i thow at it now so ill hold off untill i need to ramp it up a bit, the 8800GT O2 is just a beast, it actualy biten me strait from the box , ram seems good clocked that very stable... eerrrr board seems grate vry pleased there,..... although if u have one of these boards... "asus P5K-E" DONT TOUCH the chassis intrusion jumper!!!!!!!, took me over a blumin hour to sort that out (grinds teeth )...

no but very pleased with the finished rig, thanks to all or offerd there help .....

just wish i had time to use it ... wife had a new lappy yesterday and i gota put OS on that and set up wireless ... see ya on the track soon troops

after thinking about this i may drop the TFT and just throw the money at the mobo and cpu/ram i can always pick one of those up latter, so drop the monitor so i got 5/£600 quid for the more important stuff ....

looks pretty tempting that.. i must say.. a few concerns..

i hear that the 8800 is a bit of a monster in terms of size and power usage, so will a 500w PSU be enough? and will a 8800 fit snug on that board????...

the only other thing is the soundcard, i forgot to mention i can drop that also, so could that 27 quid be but to more use in the CPU or MB???

Also check out the E8xxx series, I go for one of those. 3 or 4gig of ram should be no problem cause it's cheap right now, obviously to use 4gig you'd need to go 64bit.

need a wee bit of help here, im looking to spend between 500/600 quid.. im fine with the building side i used to do a lot of it but been out th rat race a while and not sure what bits gona give best bang..

dont need a OS/kb or mouse

i want it pentium based as they seem to be the best about now, i want a 8800gt 512 in there too, im only gona be runing a 19"/22" sooooo....

plus i would like 3 gig ram if budget allows and could do with a now monitor... any ideas as i say im out the loop on all the new MB/cpu's and sutch... and im worried about throwing lumps of cash into 1 big bottleneck thx in advance

but im self employed and have 2 kids and there demanding, i build cars from the ground up and ya need ya concentration, and if anything my buisness whent into overdrive when i had the little ones turn up... basicly if having an extra kid kills a buisness there wouldnt BE any buisness LOL...

but after 3 days plagued with ballance issues i just couldnt get it right, i scrap'd the set twice and started fresh but still always cme down to the same problem, so after watching a million and one SPR's and looking at the RAF data i came to the conclusion thats what it needed, after throwing some on the front its cured that problem.. ooh well 1 down 234 to go

not really noticed mutch on the camber front although, for some reason, to get the car to ballance in turns ive found i need toe on the front!, i dont think ive ever added toe on the front of a set before untill this patch, not complaining though, overall everthing SEEMS more stable
