Quote from Bmxtwins :Ban racer x please. I beg of you.

Quote from DeadWolfBones :That's not really necessary. He makes enough of a fool out of himself that no one takes him seriously, anyway.

I agree with deadwolfbones. Although, I think it is just good comedy and I enjoy it.

And that Australia actually is "upside down".... :P

Marcos Ambrose has given Kurt Busch some advice ahead of tomorrow's car swap at the Circuit of the Americas with V8 Supercar drivers James Courtney and Fabian Coulthard.

Quote from Speedcafe :NASCAR star Kurt Busch has taken advice from Australia’s own Sprint Cup campaigner, Marcos Ambrose, ahead of his V8 Supercars laps at the Circuit of the Americas.Busch will drive the V8 Supercars Car of the Future prototype around the Texas venue tonight (Australian time) in order to promote the upcoming Austin 400.

V8 Supercars stars James Courtney and Fabian Coulthard, meanwhile, will steer one of Busch’s Furniture Row Racing Chevrolet SS NASCARs.

Busch was first contacted about testing the car just one week ago by countryman Boris Said, who is a former Paul Morris Motorsport endurance V8 Supercars co-driver.

The 34-year-old Busch says that Ambrose, who won two V8 Supercars titles before heading to the USA, was his first point of contact from there.

“The way you do it in the NASCAR garage is you call Marcos Ambrose,” Busch told SpeedTV of preparing for the test laps.

“And so I got his number right away and talked to him about it. As I’m talking to him, I’m pulling up information on the internet about the specs on the cars.

“They weigh 3,100 pounds (1400kg). The fun part will be driving from the right seat, shifting with my left arm.

“Even the (V8 Supercars) guy, (director of sanctioned business ) Adam (Firth), he’s joking around. He goes, ‘You know, the pedals are reversed, too?’

“And I’m sitting there scratching my head and I tell Marcos, ‘I think he’s messing with me.’ He goes, ‘Yeah, he must be a New Zealander.’”

Busch added that he also sought Ambrose’s advice on the task of helping Courtney and Coulthard adapt to the Sprint Cup vehicle.

“I asked Ambrose about that. ‘What’s going to be the first thing that’s foreign to them?,’ said Busch.

“And that is the very tall first gear — we only have four gears with our cars, as well as it’s an ‘H’ pattern.

“They know, ‘H’ patterns, but they’re going to really have to slip the clutch and it’s going to be tough for them to get the car going. Once it’s going, Ambrose said they’ll take care of it.”

Busch added that he expects the V8 Supercar to be faster around the Austin venue than his NASCAR, despite giving away some 200bhp.

Matt White is the most annoying, though...

He follows Justin Bieber on Twitter....

Quote from DeadWolfBones :Pretty shitty! But all things considered, I suppose he's doing quite well. They're hopeful for a pretty quick recovery and it seems like prosthetics are in the cards.

He was in the crowd, I'm guessing? How close was he to the bomb/do you know if he saw the suspect guys before the bomb went off?

Quote from Cornys :Not sure where I should post this, but I think this will be a good place for it . NASCAR Winston (now Sprint) Cup at Suzuka in 1996 . Pretty good race (though a little messy at times as expected with NASCAR pre-00's)

I'm guessing it was just an exhibition race, though?

Quote from S3ANPukekoh3 :On top of the hill on the last corner for the most part.

Went up in the scissor lift next to the chicane for qualy and a few support races, but that is nowhere near as cool as the esses, the cars are doing 200 kph +, sideways, usally with a wheel or two on the grass on that last corner, it really is amazing to watch.

Ok. Did you see what happened to Scotty McLaughlin in race 3? There is no footage of it. (besides the in-car camera which is mainly used for crash investigation stuff. That footage hasn't and probably wont be released...)

SMH, F1... So. Much. Hate.

Quote from Speedcafe :Mark Webber has been handed a three place grid penalty for the Bahrain Grand Prix after his collision with Jean-Eric Vergne’s Toro Rosso in Shanghai.

The Australian tagged the Frenchman into a spin while trying to take 12th position on Lap 16 of 56.

The contact damaged Webber’s front-wing, forcing the Australian into a pitstop that would lead directly to his downfall – a left-rear wheel falling off the RB9 on Webber’s outlap.

While Vergne suggested post-race that Webber should have waited until the following straight to make the move, Webber was left to wonder why the Toro Rosso driver hadn’t given more room.

“I was coming from a reasonable distance back but he knew I was there,” said Webber.

“He was really, really wide and looking like he opened the corner and was giving me the line.

“But we got to the apex and he took it. It’s disappointing. He was entitled to do that, but if he’d just gone around the outside we would’ve both survived.”

Vergne went on to take 12th in the final result, complaining that the incident with Webber damaged the floor of his car.
