Throttle position, engine load, gear selection and speed determine how an automatic transmission handles the situation.
Usually D or Drive don't have a one way clutch engaged so the transmission will just freewheel and not increase RPM as the coasting speed increases. Manually selecting gears 1, 2, 3 or whatever usually allows the transmission to apply more clutchpacks which in turn enable a one way clutch which doesn't allow the transmission to free wheel and will increase RPM and create engine breaking as coast speed increases.
Lots of car enthusiasts on this forum...and a lot of them don't have basic knowledge...makes me scratch my head.
...have you ever driven a real car before? Where did you get this magical "50mph".
Have you ever taken a real car around an aggressive corner at 50mph? If so you'll understand that 50mph isn't "slow" and a lot of forces come into play...even at a measly 50mph.
...imagine if LFS implemented the 'Steam Cloud' so that your setups and configs where the same no matter where you logged in. But...I guess that's a negative thing too.
People disliking something just to dislike it...complaining about prices...that isn't steam's doing...that's the greedy developers who produce the games screwing their customers...
I think it's bull!@#$ that I have to use the internet to download LFS, it should magically be beamed to my computer with science magic. You know what else? The fact I have to be on the internet to use this forum is also complete rubbish...
Why even waste time debating on that topic...people are just hating Steam because it's something to hate on.
God forbid a company have ads for products they are selling on their own "Store" page...infact, how dear they even have images in their store. IMO all webpages should be purely txt so that my Lynx browser would stop having issues...let's not forget that you can completely avoid seeing any of that colorful mumbo-jumbo by never clicking on the "Store" tab...
Anyone with a negative viewpoint about this doesn't have any FACTS that back their OPINION...quite silly...
I can't think of any FACTUAL reasons that LFS on Steam is awful. I can think of a lot of opinionated reasons that are backed by nothing but opinions...
Selfish people are being selfish...everyone wants LFS to prosper and grow...Steam is an excellent outlet...LFS isn't ready quite yet...but it's an excellent outlet...
You clearly have no understanding of what Steam is...you made that quite obvious.
Not sure why there is so much negative bias towards Steam. What I do find is that those who have such extreme hate for it...and it is a childish ranting type hate (see above post)...haven't used it since HL2 was released...and a lot has changed since then.
The mature gaming community is much, much larger than the one that you focus on...maybe that's why you're such a sour puss...because you constantly focus on the negative aspects of something...instead of the myriad of reasons it's positive for LFS and it's community...
So like I said...if you don't want LFS to expand it's horizons and have the community grow with the help of tools that allow that to occur...it's being selfish.
"THIS IS MY TOY AND YOU CANT HAVE IT" ...thats how some of you sound.
After watching other games with long development cycles...
There needs to be updates and peeks...without it we're in the dark and we don't know if development stalled, is kicking ass and taking names or if it's been abandoned.
The devs should be excited that such a large group of people is so eager for the next installment of LFS. The last thing they should be doing is telling their loyal fans off with a cynical attitude. That's insane.
Without any updates people dwell. There's not much going on because people want more...isn't that a sign of a good product? To say that customers are a waste of resources is silly. Those same obnoxious voices that scream and shout when they feel their wronged will also spread praise and the word about whatever you're selling if you treat them nicely. It goes both ways.
I'm kind of frustrated. I don't play online, I just run single player when I have the chance...that's fun for me. Racing against myself regardless of how awful I am, lol. It's been a long journey..and it does feel stalled. Mainly because there's little updates that show progress. I just want to know what's going on.
The tire physics update is cool but there has to be visual goodies to show...something to stir some more buzz and hype...the positive kind,
I was googling some random stuff and I ran into this website that has these video contests...they have some pretty hefty prizes too...tv's and laptops and stuff...the site could use some work but it looks legit...worth checking out imo www.musicmatrix.com and http://www.musicmatrix.com/contests.php
Had this system for a month or so...started out mediocre but now its a speed daemon
Started out with an Athlon II X4 620 but I wanted more, so I went and picked up a Phenom II 1055T X6. I had a GTX260 but again, wanted more so I picked up a GTX480. Pretty pleased with this little box...and I do mean little, got it all crammed into a MicroATX case.

I knew someone was going to throw out the "you can't afford" ideal. That's another thing I forgot to mention, smugness. Most Apple users are smug about their products and have this overall impression that their products are better than everyone and anyone else, and that's too bad. You just went and proved that point.
Did I ever say I can't afford their products? No, you assumed it. Why even bring that up? I chose to spend my $550 on a phone that is isn't designed to be obsolete and who's software doesn't cripple the user experience.
I care if a company claims they invented and own IP that they did not create. I care when a company doesn't give credit where credit is due. Multitouch is a great example of Apple being Apple. So is the name 'iPhone' (was owned by Cisco) and 'iPad' (Was owned by Fujitsu and also Transform Tecnologia de Ponta). So you are incorrect when you say "btw, which big company doesn't, these days?" because no other company does what they do, they **** everyone else, claim ownership and then attempt to gain ownership though lawsuits and out of court settlements. No one cares because its Apple and they are flawless, right?
Oh boy. Here comes the influx of "OH THE JESUS PHONE". Why everyone flocks to Apple's sub-par products is beyond me. Why anyone supports a company that patent trolls and is building a walled garden around their products is beyond me. Why people stand behind Steve Jobs when he's an big-headed egotistical moron is beyond me. Why people buy products from a hypocritical company that has become something the used to despise is beyond me. Consumerism is pathetic...I'll continue to use my head and vote with my wallet and not support a pathetic company that has hoards of zealot followers who long for Steve Job's cock in their mouth...A bunch of sheep...
