Quote from morpha :It's a big Merc with a relatively small petrol engine, done 260k and it's an automatic, how much clearer does it have to be? Take the bimmer.

If you look closely, it's a 190E. It's only ten centimeters bigger than the E30, and famous for being very reliable.

I've been looking at two cars recently: a Mercedes 190E and a BMW 320i. Both have a fully documented history, have only had two owners and are said to be in a good condition.

Which one would be the wisest purchase? It won't be used as a daily driver because my commute is only two kilometers each way. Insurance and tax cost the same for both cars.

The voices in my head (many of them ) tell me that the BMW would be more fun to drive, but the Benz would be far less expensive to maintain.

'Tis a shame they are tough buggers to kill.

Diesel engines aren't really 'grunty', unless they're turbocharged.

In short: DO NOT WANT.

Quote from S14 DRIFT :Moi too. Then we can go play GLOF in my GLOF.

Quote from mrodgers :Have to ask since I've seen it several times now....

What is GLOF?

Internet says it is a "glacial lake outburst flood."

Minigolf on playforia.com, a java game.

This post is over 9000!

But to stay on topic: I'm getting closer and closer to purchasing a car. Within a month, hopefully.

Quote from rockclan :I can't remember me ever asking money for a fund on this forum, so you must been mistaking with someone else.

I do raise money for the cancer-fund in the Netherlands, but I do this for the one and only official organisation:

KWF are greedy bastards, and they're not the one and only official organisation, because there is no such thing.

Quote from sinbad :I think it's the way they do all those gear changes and revving, and when you turn to look, they're still pulling away

They're also too small for me to ever have considered fitting on to.

True, mine had six gears . It was a bit faster than stock RS50's though. Restricted ones are awful and can't be compared.

RS50s are pointless noise makers though

Quote from Chrisuu01 :Here is someone who gets the point!
Maybe I should have said2 strokes under 125 cc since those things are only really good at making the most god awful noise.
2 stroke multi cylinder machines are mighty fine bikes though single cylinder ones mostly sound like leaf blowers.

The only real thing I about 2 stroke is that lower cc single cylinder 2 strokes sound awful for the majority of people.

I disagree.

My Aprilia RS50 sounded great tbh, especially when it hit the powerband. Mine wasn't restricted though.

Chris, you're just jealous because my derestricted RS50 was faster than your moped.

Quote from (SaM) :Alright fellas, she's half Indonesian. No points scored. Any hints were unsuccessful apparently. Maybe her rich blend throws people off.

She's not the first (half) Indonesian I've dated. I don't particularly look for them, but I do find them very attractive. It might be because some distant Asian blood runs in my family and I'm seeing DNA from my roots. That, or I just have a weak spot for exotic women.

Either way, she's a wonderful woman. Very mature but playful. Intelligent but curious. A sweet angel but devil's eyes. Who knows, I might go far with this woman.

That was actually the first country that came to mind.

3rd: Isn't even a car + I don't buy you can go 43.4 mph on a mountain bike because the fastest I can think of I have been downhill was ~50 km/h which is roughly 30 mph.

I've done well over 40mph on a mountainbike, downhill. All it takes is balls and a steep hill. Don't forget to bring a mountainbike either.

Ontopic: I'm still searching for a good car..
