hes an ellusionist and if he could use camera work he will, and he has, but he is still a great magician, besides the camera work, he has done tons of street magic and he is brilliant and smooth at them, thats what makes him so good that he is able to build such a reaction from the crowds, its not jsut camera work he uses, ive seen him in NYC doing magic for other people, and ive also seen him in the sphere and when he froze himself.
the guy is crazy and i think we should all respect him for that
though mostly its probaly just for publicity.
but thats still nuts.

i dont know what you mean if it will be an "advantage" unless you just dont get the term.
your momo has potentiometers.
potentiometers (pots) is just a device that calculates resistance and sends the information to whatever, in pedals you want to calculate the the pedal travel and you can use pots (most common to use at least) to measure the pedal travel. same thing on the steering wheel too, it measures how many degrees you rotate the wheel.
(annyone can correct me if i got any info wrong)

so the advantage of having a potentiometer would probaly be, cheap and its required, unless your using a different method.

save every change you get in a box somewhere, spare change gets you far
actually i bought a ps2 and GTA vice city when it came out
on change collecting alone (seriously, spare change when i come home, change i find on the floor, change after i break a dollar, recycle bin of cans. etc)

and winter time is a great oppurtunity to shovel and make money.
there are tons of ways, and if your thinking about college, spare some time and get a job, save up money and put some away for college
i am to doing this whole college apply/gettin ready thing.
only a year older than you are.
but tehre are tons of way to save money you just need to think harder and STOP BEING LAZY!

ok when i bought my license and when i didnt know what the symbol was,
i did know the different currency in other places around the world, but i never knew the symbols, that wasnt something we really went in depth to learn about in school or something that we often see in america, (at least at my age since i dont travel)

but yea, people just might not know the currency symbol

thanks for the info and the help!
sorry if im asking to many questions, but i was thinking, would it be possible to connect my pedals to the DFP? i found the momo pinout layout (whcih supposedly is the same for the DFP) but i was wondering if i would be able to add a clutch pedal too, it seems like there are only 7 pins to connect to, and was also wondering if anyone knows a website to order these from?
thanks!

What if, and im probaly just being hopeful here, that the surprise wasnt the new BMW sauber F1.06 to come into LFS?

i doubt it, but it would be really cool to be surprised with something else new when the patch comes out. something to blow our minds away because we were all hyped about a BMW F1 car to come to LFS, taking out guard down.
afterall, i dont think the devs confirmed that that was the surprise

haha just being hopeful! cant wait for new patch
Potentiometers

ok, im thinking about making some pedals, and was jsut researching
for potentiometers. when i make the pedals, how/what am im going to use/do to give it usb connectivity?
i kno i have to use potentiometers but how will i have to wire it to connect to a USB port? or my DFP? (i also dont plan on stripping any part of my DFP down)
i stripped down an old old ps2 pedals, and i noticed the rotary potentiometers they used, and it had 3 terminals to connect wires to, what do each of them do?
yep, i just need some help and clarification
i was also thinking, if i make pedals, shuld i use rotary pots or sliding pots?
i was thinking of designing my pedal layout something similar to finmotions pedals but hanging down and changed around a bit for better resitance, would a sliding pot or rotary pot be a better choice in this case?
thanks!

Jeez dude, wait 2 more days and you'll drive the thing! It'll be much better to feel it for the first time, then to see it first in action, specially when its so close to release..

It's like knowing whats the gift without opening it

i was just there yesterday took a bunch of photos with friends, just woke up cant really remeber everything atm, but the new mazda concept the kabaru and saab aero X look amazing

but i put this in general LFS discussion because i have not had time yesterday to check update and i remeber gawking over the BMW sauber F1 at the show.
yep, and i come home sleep, wake up and BAM it hits me, that BMW F1 car is coming to LFS! Nod
ahhh i dont kno if this belongs in this forum or the off-topic but the autoshoiw was awesome, (first autoshow for me) and they actually had rFactor playing on the force dynamic machine whcih i so badly wanted to try with LFS, the guy told me to come back later and maybe he'll have LFS running on it Thumbs up unfortunetly for me, i had to leave, think ill go back to the show thoough, still have so many pictures to take, and now gawk at the BMW sauber a bit more.

hm. was wondering, what tracks/cars did you guys race/practice with when you first bought your S2 license, demo was nice to have you focused on one track with only like three cars to easily choose a favorite, then you get your S2 license, and get a wealth of new tracks and cars, just wondering where did you guys start out? focus on a track/car? or just hopped around trying everything?
Info or patch first?

Hm.. i was wondering, who thinks the devs will release all the info about the new patch before it is actually released? ( through their one piece of info per day thing ) or release the patch before they give us all the info on the patch?
just wondering,
cant wait

Quote from xXJackXx :I couldn't find any where that answered my question so i'll put it up here.

I'm thinking of buying a license but I'm finding i like LFS s1 alot more fun than s2. Mainly because my friends are still playing on s1 so i was wondering since you can't buy s1 licenses any more if i bought an s2 license would it work on s1? Or can't i play s1 licensed at all?

i thought you could still just buy S1 licenses?

Quote from thisnameistaken :I've got a DFP and a "Driving Force" wheel running side-by-side here with no problems. Does LFS not offer you the extra axes?

Same here, and to what i understand the driving force is pretty much the same wheel as formula gp and it should be working, are you sure the axis arent availbe to assign in LFS? are both the wheels plugged in?
go to your game controller menu in control panel, and if it notices two wheels, then it should be working fine. if it isnt, maybe one of the wheel isnt being detected, so either it would be broken or somethings weird.

gran turismo 4 wheel? i believe thats the driving force PRO
the wheel is wonderful wtih 900 degrees, and if you connect it to the compter it can have any amount of degrees of rotation that u wish up to 900.
the wheel is compatible with both ps2 and pc, the pc just needs the wingman drivers ( www.wingmanteam.com I BELIEVE is the adress)
if your looking for good drifting, the wheel feels great to drift with, but you will have a hard time gettin use to if your new to drifting, you will need to learn to catch the rear of the car/ when to countersteer and etc, and with a wheel that turns this much, it does take time to get use to. but its well worth it
as for any more info, there are TONS of thread on the DFP, jsut look around onthese forums, or on forum.rscnet.org (where LFS old forums use to be)

Itek Racing school impressions
immense
S2 licensed
Had the first lessons with the Itek racing school today, it was pretty kickass and something i definetly reccommend to any begginer or one who wants to get faster, for today, i was pretty much their only student that was there. it was cool, they used teamspeak to talk to me while i drove, they gave me a few laps and studied how i drove and then showed me certain things i was doing wrong, like the line, speed, when i should be braking, throttling for each corner of the track. it really cut time off my pb (BLgp) i was actually running around consistent 1.40+ (XFG) and they helped me manage to get it down to consistent 1.35.XX-1.36.XX which feels great.

they had a really good way of teaching, though im not sure if they planned to do it this way. when more "instructors" arrived they began to have one guy on the track with me, leading and chasing, while another person was there on teamspeak watching me and telling me when i should be braking, where to stay on the road, when to throttle and overall generally trying to guide me through the corners. i liked this way, since i was able to focus on the road, i had the car in front of me leading me, so it felt like i had a goal to reach, and i had the person there on teamspeak to help give me advice to improve and not **** up as much. the leading and chasing thing was great, it taught me what to do in certain situations, and the team wasnt there to show off their speed, when they led, they didnt try to pull away, but they focus on my driving.

what i think really helped, was that i was focused on one car and one track, Itek really got me to learn that specific track (BL) and car(XFG), so i learned about what i should be doing in that car on that track. what would be good for future lessons imo, would be taking through people through each course until they know that course well, and move on to another course, giving them time to really familiarize themselves with the track (granted this probaly would take sometime with each student)

i dont have many negative thigns to say, other than teamspeak can mumble voices soemtime and it mite become hard to understand, or maybe i just want more vareity in tracks and cars, (but that just might be my own impatient:shrug but im sure theyll bring us to differnet tracks and cars,

besides all the learning done there, i had a really fun time, racing around, trying to put what they told me in use against the ITEK team, it was just good, its nice having a voice over you thats trying to help. its also great, that they didnt seem mad, when i would consistently do stuff wrong.
i really recommend this to anyone that wants to learn more, this team really knows what they are doing.
i also really hope thsi school stays around, its definitely goign to affect the LFS community postively if more people come in and take it seriously.

as for teaching demo players, this would probaly be great for them, but i can also see many of them abusing it, my suggestion on the topic to teach the ones that are serious about it (might be hard to pinpoint) or maybe host lessons for demo players sometimes and see the feedback you get at those times.
and thanks it really was a good experience for me and i appreicate all the things you guys taught me. see you guys next time!
