I have a nvidia 8400, and i cant decide on any good settings.

I'm going for the most realistic-looking settings anyone has found. I've been playing with them for a while, and i just don't know what im doing

Im fine with FPS, i have full AF and AA on in lfs and still have around 60 fps which im used to.

ah, now that makes a bit more sense.

I still stand by what i said though. Actual race slicks would be nice on road cars and etc.

I think i know what you mean.

For example you want to be able to use R2's on a XRT for better traction if you were racing.

I mean I dont think they can pull the "show me a road car that uses that" card, because you honestly can put racing slicks onto a normal road car if you wanted to.

very true. I used to only use lfs for drifting, and my lines were pretty bad. After i got into a bit more racing, then went back to primarily drifting, i realized my lines improved greatly.

false. go to the drag strip and after the line go from 5th to 1st and release the clutch. then after you stop try starting the engine

hm i figured i should post my arrangements since ive tried fine tuning mine for a while

red buttons on the wheel used for sideview

right paddle handbrake, left paddle nothign unless using sequential. when in sequential i dont have a handbrake.

top black button on shifter pit speed limiter

left and right i forgot but nothing important

down black button is traction control

on the D-pad. up left and right arent used for anything

down on D-pad is used for resetting car

left red button is to look behind
2nd red button(from the left on all of these) is horn
3rd red button is flash
last red button is ignition.


this is the best method for me since i switch between rally, road car racing, and drift alot. i almost never race cars requiring sequential gears. sorry for long post but it was the easiest way to may it clear and readable.

searcbed around and couldnt find anything. I dont want to do it myself because i dont really trust myself lol. but if anyone has any darker tarmac(almost an asphalt color) i would love for you to share it with me.

So apparently the LFS master server went down or soemthing and i get knocked out of my cruise room(which i just got my 2nd bonus to 100 and it didnt register yet so im extremely pissed about that) and now it wont let me join any rooms ebcause apparently my user name is already online? WTF is going on? :bananadea


and it still says im in the cruise server even though im not. i really dont get whats going on.

we tried that bullcrap and none of it makes any sense. we have no effing idea what were doing thats why were asking.

explain? this is our first try actually making a server even if it is just for us. somebody said we need to foward our ports or some crap?

z13 works just fine but im keeping my z10 backed up the way it is just incase. z13 was easy enough to download anyway.

and for the ka20 turbo, thats exactly what i was lookign for. thanks again!

i just did back it up onto my flash drive. so im going to try it now

have you had any issues with z13? I just dont want to swap over and have all of my old files and addons(rev limiter etc). im willing to download it though.

hm. i guess im not running the same patch as you because it says "engine could not be found"

hey gills thanks for all these awesome sounds. i think i have like 15 just for my XRT

anyway i just wanted to ask if you could take your existing k20 sound for the xrt, and possibly add a realistic turbo sound(as real as you can make it ofcourse )

well then does anyone know anyone who has edited that .dds and made the road surface darker? i know some people have by their youtube videos but i dont trust messign around with that stuff by myself. thanks

ah nevermind it was already extracted and i just had to put it in the engine folder. dumb dumb moment.

anywho how can i edit the cfg.txt to make the road surfaces appear darker?

I have 7zip to extract files but whenever i go to extract it into my LFS/Data/Sound file i get this stupid message saying it can not be extracted.

somebody wanna explain? I wanna add in gills xrt sr20det sound but this is getting frustrating and wont let me


EDIT: oh and how can i make the track asphalt darker? its a light grey and iw ant it to be almost black. thanks again
