I really can't believe they can cite 64 player multiplayer as a great feature, they've had that for 10 bloody years! It's sad that the best Battlefield multiplayer experience is still the original Forgotten Hope (sorry but the engine lets FH2 down massively)...

Quote from DieKolkrabe :Name one other game (stock. No mods) that the Superprix was in?

That was my point...

I won that historic Monaco race in a Cobra!
Possibly the most intense thing i've ever done in a game haha, i tried it out on Deep Forest and it just tried to take off over every crest...

BTW, if anyone wants a free Ford Focus 07 WRC, just add me, PSN is: StrokesUK
Obviously first come first served though

Also, are you guys all saving up for the P4 then? I get distracted by stuff in the UCD too often to save up that much

Quote from dawesdust_12 :It's about a learning curve. Imagine if your first sim was.. Netkar Pro (for instance).. and every time you overdid a corner, you'd spin and demolish your car... that'd be pretty demotivating.

Now think of NKP with a simplified damage model, consistently "perfect" heat tyres to start, and ABS/TC. That'd make it easier to drive, and once you get more comfortable you start turning TC/ABS off, learn how to heat cycle your tyres better, not crash..

Which would you prefer if you weren't already a seasoned simracer?

I agree, trying to learn nkPro is like punching yourself in the head repeatedly if you have max realism settings.

However, does anyone know if we have the option to turn this 'learning curve' off? Because personally i think thrashing the rubbish cars around on max difficulty will probably be one of the most fun parts of the game

Quote from J@tko :It's from GT5. Real 747s have round nacelles [the bits around the engines]

Actually the 747 chilling on the top gear track is a one off of some sort which has those strange double engine nacelles.

Quote from S14 DRIFT : It was launched in 2002/2003 and had 125bhp/l way back then so perhaps 160bhp/l is possible from a naturally aspirated engine.

Well a lot more than 160bhp/l is possible, e.g. the BMW S1000RR which makes 190bhp from a 999cc inline four...

Quote from Stefani24 :Either it's me braking too hard and needing to turn abs on, or the tyre model is just "broken". Tried my second race today, Left Front Puncture. Yesterday, Left Front Puncture. Always on the prime tyres, after the pitstop. And I did only one lap until it punctured. On the Straight.

Yea i just ragequit from shanghai when i got a random puncture on a straight. I also got a random puncture on the straight at malaysia the race before, where schumacher also decided to RAM me on a damn corner and give ME the penalty, AAGH!
Currently really annoyed at the truly terrible AI, the fake qualifying times and the ridiculous penalty system. Also, LOL at being able to be 6 seconds a lap faster in a lotus than everyone else inthe wet at malaysia in quali.

Ibanez or Yamaha is probs the best direction to go, but try Hagstroms, possibly the Fender Jaguar HH (i've got one but you need small hands!) if you want something a little different. Most importantly, try the thing in the shop and make sure it plays nicely!

Quote from Bose321 :I subscribed twice...

Kinda stupid you HAVE to fill in what consoles you own, I don't own any, but I HAVE to fill in one, so I just did Wii. I SO hope I get it.

I agree, i don't own any, yet my mother owns a Wii so i put that...
Why on earth do they expect everyone to own a damn console?

Haha this reminds me of playing Geoff Crammonds Grand Prix 1&2 as a kid with a joystick, and beating my dad repeatedly at time trial! (of course i dont remember the more numerous times he would beat me!). Thinking back i must have been like 4 when i first started playing proper racing games!
Nice G27 btw :P

From using a G25 on lfs for a while previously i reckon i saved at least 5 lessons. My instructor actually asked me where i had learned to drive, since my technique (steering, throttle and brake control and spacial awareness etc) were pretty much spot on. It was particularly noticeable doing the emergency brake with threshold braking, lol. But yea, i think it is a very good way of getting your bearings, so long as you remember that the clutch is a little different :P

On another note, in one lesson i got told off for left foot braking and being in too low a gear all the time, which is a bit of a hangover from lfs!

Scrap all the current rules bar some safety related, then make the maximum dimensions of the car half the length and 3/4 of the width. That'd be interesting!

A proper mini, although completely redesigned in terms of chassis (with a strong roof!), almost completely built out of carbon fibre/composite. Should look like a normal mini, no daft widening or anything and nice and skinny 12" wheels. (Although need to get better tires from somewhere)

Then, to make it a bit more mad, design and build a two stroke fuel injected V6, very much following motorbike engine design, and either
A. Stick a couple of huge turbo's on it, and design a mega strong CVT gearbox to go with it...
B. Supercharge it and give it a nice 7 speed H gearbox

undecided whether it should be mid engined, or just move the seats back (no lengthened bonnets for me!), and of course it should be AWD.

Or just give me an Aston DB9 / Ferrari 275 / Jaguar XJ13(!!!)
