Quote from rc10racer :Only because the car was already there for them, only 2 things he did was buy out honda's F1 department (even honda out them out with money problems) and change the team's name.

and all he paid for it was ONE euro...
but don't forget that even if the development was done with Honda's money, Ross Brawn was the one that transformed the team of making the worst car on the grid into a championships winning team...

the first thing Merc do after buying Brawn is to try and put two german drivers into the team... I'd prefer they to keep Button, it's not like they can't afford it anymore...

Quote from Bawbag :I thought Andy Priaulx was the best driver of the day, He was immensly fast in the Astra since I guess it was similar to his BMW, but what was more amazing was how he jumped straight into the Focus WRC and threw it around so confidently, beating Vettel who had just drove the WRC In the previous race.

Unlucky for him not to beat MSC in the buggy but he had been flying in that thing all day since his contract says he's not allowed to drive anything branded basicly, IMO it gives him more of an advantage since he only gets to drive 3 cars, when other people have the chance of 4 or 5.

Regardless, looking forward to watching it tommorow again, hopefully we see as much action as today.

so the Xbow isn't branded by KTM~?

apparantly they've now got themselves an exception clause in the contract saying something like since ROC is kinda a charity events, he's allow to drive something other than a Fiat/Ferrari...

Quote from JJ72 :I was very entertained with the nations cup, finland was a big disappointment but the rest are very good, team USA definitely a nice surprise! The two Chinese drivers did add to the show (but of course why they choose han han I have no idea, just a nobody rally driver even in China).

And what can you say, Micheal Schacher = eternal driving god.

They should have Hamilton, Rossi etc in it as well.

yeah, Gronholm was uselessly slow on both nights...

they should've used the Focus WRC whenever it's Finland's turn, now that would be fair~! XD

last year Lewis only bothered to turn up for some demonstation run in his McLaren (apparantly cos he needed to go to the Sport Personality of the year wateva later that night), and this year either no one invited him or he don't like to come and potentially get beaten~ XD or most probably there are also some kinda lines in his contract saying he can't drive anything but a Merc...

the Brawn has to be heavy, if they went light but got past at the start by some heavier KERS cars then they'll be very screwed. The worrying thing for them is Alonso with his KERS is not far behind, and is only 10kg lighter...

I was kinda surprised Lewis was so light, but perhaps they're betting on Heikki to hold everyone up with his heavy car to allow Lewis to sprint away at the front, and hopfully open up a massive gap over whoever got held up by Heikki by his first pitstop...

Quote from dawguk :au contrate, mon ami.

if we apply the same logic, renault will be found guilty, yet won't be punished. however, mclaren will be punished, because they have an 'M' in their team name.

lets not forget Mad Max hates Ron Dennis back then (and most probably still does now), and he also made it very clearly that how he thinks of Flavio.
the one thing in common is/was that they are the team principals of the respective teams.

Quote from samjh :
I don't trust the WMSC at all. It's a kangaroo court, IMHO. The ICA is much more trust-worthy, as the people who comprise it are distinguished jurists who are not under the FIA President's thumb.

and if we go back to the spy-gate, all the FIA could prove was that McLaren had some Ferrari's stuff, without proving any intention or whatever else, McLaren got penalised heavily...

so if we apply the same logic here, all the FIA would do is "prove" Piquet crashed deliberately, without proving whether he do it by himself or was ordered to do so by Renault, to punish Renault heavily and screw Flavio up...

I surely hope that won't happen again of cos...

Quote from ATC Quicksilver :Force India won't get a podium in this race, they have two teams running KERS at the front, even if their overall pace is slower the KERS cars will still beat them. My money is on a Mclaren one two.

yeah, despite Foce India being the quickest of all in S2, where all the corners are... but that's during today's practice anyway, things will most probably change again tmr~

but in qualifying the KERS will be a major boost, those KERS cars are half a sec up on everyone else in S1 today, assuming only when they're using the "double shot" strategy...

Quote from hyntty :Personally I'd put my money on FI since the Kers cars effectively run on electricity and you can get electrocuted by them. That'll undoubtedly affect the drivers' psyche and make them drive slower.

what~? lol
so Lewis, Heikki, Kimi, and whoever is in the 2nd Ferrari were all busy being electrocuted all year~?

the middle east was and still is a very good market to move those unsold Ford/Holden in Oz...

so it'd make sense to have a couple of races there, GM had been selling Commodore there for years, but I duno about the Falcon...

Kinda hard to judge without knowing the amount of cash Ferrari has paid the indians

or perhaps amount of debts waived~?
well that's what some journalists in autosport speculate anyway...

Quote from Victor :I dunno, I don't think Piquet was the one to tell. Or if he did, it was incredibly stupid. Not just because of the risk of becoming a cry baby, but HE was the one who caused the accident (if it's true). HE did the deed. He may have been instructed, but he executed the order. He would have caused an avoidable accident and that imo is the only thing in play here. The team could be punished as well of course, but in the end he would have been the one who did it.
So it would be pretty stupid of him to speak about it. Maybe he'll hurt Renault, but he'll also throw away his own racing career.

Renault have kicked him out, but Flavio still has the contract of being his manager. So his racing career is pretty much over too anyway, so it wouldn't really matter...

Quote from JackDaMaster :Wow, poor lap by Barrichello.

comparing that to Jensen Button, well it ain't bad at all~

PS. Toyota usually had strong race pace but a disastrous qualifying (lately anyway), now that they got both cars up the front somewhere, I'm betting them to dominate.

And I do hope the KERS equiped Lewis can get in front of the Red Bulls at the start, which would help Button greatly~

Quote from Mustafur :Bernie is seriously stupid to think this: http://en.f1-live.com/f1/en/he ... detail/090817142632.shtml

under those rules, Button can't lose the championship.

I mean a WDC should favour the drivers who have been up there all year not one half of the season then die out.

didn't Bernie said something distinctly different after seeing Button winning 5 out of the first 6 (or was it 6 out of the first 7) grand prix~?

well but if he didn't, he surely wouldn't hv said what he said now at that point of time~

Quote from amp88 :Takes a lot of strength and energy to use the brakes. You can't have power brakes in F1 and we've heard so many times that the drivers are applying around 100kg of pedal pressure at the hard braking areas lap after lap after lap. That puts a lot of stress through the leg and also through the hips as the body tends to twist. Think how hard it would be to do several hundred 100kg leg presses in a 60+ degree Celsius environment whilst being subjected to large G forces and having to concentrate on trying to extract 100% from your car.

not trying to argue with you here but I've always been mystified about these "100kg on the brake pedal stuff". When they calculated it, would the g-forces generated from the braking affect the pedal pressure calculated~? lets say if there're 5gs during braking, would this has any affect on the "100kg pedal pressure", which means there were actually only 20kg~?

Quote from amp88 :I've just watched a little bit of the coverage and the I'm really concerned about the height of the pitwall separating the track and the pitlane. It looks like it's less than 2 feet high to me. If two cars collided and one of them got a bit of air (because of tyres rubbing or a car spinning backwards through the airstream) they could easily vault the pitwall and collect personnel and/or equipment in the lane. Does anyone know why the pitwall is so low?

but it's also basically the same on all ovals at America~?
seems like they aren't going to do anything to change it, until someone get killed anyway...

Quote from MAD3.0LT :personaly i cant stand the V8 Supercars anymore the racing is boring and dull the series was ALOT better in the late 80's early 90's when it wasent just 2 allmost identical cars going around a track at a half decent pace.

i download the old race's when i can and it reminds me of old school BTCC

I'm wondering, does Formula Ford still laps faster than V8SC~?

Quote from 5haz :Glock made me chuckle in the press conference when he said that he hoped that by the time he gets out of the press conference and back with his team, he'll still be in 3rd place.

The FIA do love to alter the race results after the flag nowadays don't they?

and will he be disqualified for saying just that~?

Quote from Timdpr :FIA mucking things up again!

Probably making it more fair though, I dunno. It moves Glock and Hamilton down one though

it's just FIA being the FIA, they just CAN'T sort things out during the race can they~?

perhaps they will change their minds AGAIN after the podium ceremony~
