Well, he will grow tired of it when he realizes he isn't going to accomplish anything by that and that the XRT is not coming back. LFS is not losing anything when he decides to quit or something. Just the type of people we don't need nor want.
Not really if you look at the bigger picture. The demo now gives a much better impression of LFS, and will hopefully attract more serious sim racers instead of...what it mainly seems to attract now.
Scavier were already planning to replace the XRT with a singleseater in order to make the demo a better demonstration. If they wouldn't have been approached by V1/Fortec, the FOX would probably be in the demo now.
Scawen, Eric and Victor, congratulations on setting a new milestone for LFS. I think this patch has become a very important one, probably the most significant in recent history. Some great developments that lead LFS into the next era. Scawen, I genuinely admire the way you handle the development and your ability to keep your head clear through all the discussion (often good and useful, but often times also bad and nonconstructive). I would have gone insane, that's for sure. After hearing your voice in the patch Y preview video I think you must be a very calm and rational person (you sound so calm and "zen-ish"
Anyway, I'm loving the new patch, take your rest now guys, but I can't wait to see what the future will bring us next
Oh, and a Merry Christmas to you guys and your loved ones, and to everybody in the LFS community
Second oh: to the people complaining about being slower now: boo-frecking-hoo! Ask yourself what the goal of racing is (or should be anyway) Is it enjoying racing with people and aiming for the best possible classification at that time or is it setting new PB's? I seriously don't get the problem. It's just been released today, buckle up and practice to get faster. And enjoy the challenge instead of waisting your time complaining.
Can you picture Kimi Raikonnen complaining "I'm so pissed right now, they changed the chicane at Monza, now my laptimes are 1 second slower Change it back! Change it back!"
I read a thread about it on a tech forum I visit. This was somewhere in the S1 era, really can't remember when exactly but it was still in the demo stage. Really liked it and saw great potential. After playing for a while I entered a sort of "lost interest in gaming fase".
Built a new PC, forgot to redownload LFS and kind of forgot about it (shame on me :shy. Years later through the same forum in a topic about rFactor I was led to RSC, but didn't find a demo or anything. I explored the forum some more and came across the LFS section, thought "hey, I remember this!", downloaded the S2 demo, was delighted about how much it had improved, bought it shortly after that. Been stuck here ever since.
On tarmac especially a racer also has to take tyre wear into account. So because of that drifting around the corner is hardly used in circuit racing. Rally is a different story though.
There's probably several people who drive or have driven racing cars. Whether or not there are people who are actively racing at the moment I don't know but it wouldn't surprise me. I read some comments recently from someone who has driven Formula BMW, can't remember the name atm (sorry )
You can't just slap on the decals over the side of the car like that, on various places they have to be aligned and properly connected over the various parts. Visit http://www.lfs-gear.com/kitz.html and get the skin kit for the fbm. You can open the .psd files with photoshop, paint shop pro or the gimp for instance. Once you study those it will start to make sense more
If you use common sense, be respectful to the other racers and admins, and know where you stand at a certain point in the field you have nothing to worry about.
quoting psychology articles from wikipedia makes you look so smart!
talking about reading into stuff. the arrogance is astounding.
And like the very end said, you don´t HAVE to say anything. Just keep your big mouth shut if you don´t care and don´t go provoking people.
That´s all the breath I´m willing to waste on this.
Originally LFS was meant to be released in 4 stages, so an S4 was planned but it was limited to three. And afaik what happens after S2 is not sure either. There's a possibility some other form of releasing will be used, Scawen probably hasn't made any decision on that. And I doubt he will before S2 has been completed.
I wouldn't worry about it because as you say there's still a long way and years of enjoyment to go.
And are those exclamation marks really necessary?
Where did he say you have to race? where did he tell you not to drift?
He only meant LFS focuses on racing, and does not cater specifically to drifting. That's just the way it is, but you're totally twisting his words and adding stuff because you read into it a certain way.
