youre missing what ive said. as i clearly mentioned before, im not necessarily looking for someone to purchase a license for me individually without the opportunity for other demo users to receive the license. im simply inquiring whether anyone has ever encountered or established any competition for a license. asking for a license from some random person to buy for me who lives half-way around the world is out of question and unnecessary. a better possibility is if someone is about to abandon their license or give it up (say because they're going to college, perhaps). im simply asking if any of these instances is the case, and whether we can figure something out. otherwise, ill look for ways to buy it on my own time instead of risking getting in an argument with some choleric individual. sorry if ive bothered you guys. i didnt mean to cause any trouble
actually, i dont think ive been bothersome. how many posts have i made in this thread? like 3 or 4? lol thats less than some other ppl who talk about join dates etc. and for your information i havent sent a single PM to anyone about getting a license. i dont know where u got that idea... anyways, if 3 posts of easy questions and simple talk is too much for you, ill stop asking.
after doing research and comparing some things, i discovered that you gave a license to LoganC after he won a contest (not race competition). is that correct? if so, thats the kind of thing im looking for, although a race competition is fine with me . so far ive seen about 5 cases where people have given away licenses in that manner. thx
i think i already explained that there could be a place like "my online car skins" (on lfs world) where you just upload the car and it will be visible to anyone regardless of whether they have the car on their computer.
anyways, i guess this idea is trashed and not gonna work
but Alpha is almost over, and Beta is just around the corner. i dont think making LFS have this ability is too far-fetched and unfeasible, so im guessing that it could be done by the end of patch z and ready for Beta.
so i guess looking for any chance that someone in the world would be offering a free s2 license is called complaining...
also, people like me registered on LFS Forum much after we actually started playing LFS. I've been playing LFS since early last summer, and that doesnt correspond with the join date you see on the left because in demo, you dont get an account automatically because you never paid for s2.
and you have the extra experience that comes after serveral months of playing on s2 by the way: it is possible to just send money through my home mail to the developers' address for s2?
I am just wondering if anyone is willing to give out a free s2 license by any chance. If you know of any other way that I can get a free s2 license (such as a competition) I would be very grateful. I know that I am asking for much, but I just want to make sure if this is possible. If anyone is going to abandon their license for any reason, and they would have no use in it afterwards, please give it to me if possible. I would be very pleased if someone could offer a free license for s2. Thank you very much.
My experience:
-I have been racing for over a year
-I consider myself a pro
-I can race almost 1:25 laptimes on Blackwood GP Forward with XRT on keyboard
-I do grip race, drift, and rallycross
Hello. I think that LFS should have the ability to use cars made and downloaded by any user. My idea is that just like the "My Online Car Skins" section on LFS World, the cars can be uploaded through a place on LFS World (maybe "my online cars") so that the cars can be seen on multiplayer whether or not the racer has the vehicle stored on his/her computer. As for multiplayer server hosts, those who don't want to allow downloaded cars on their servers should be given that option (Allow downloaded cars vs. Don't allow downloaded cars). If the process of building and tuning a car is different from just using ZModeler or 3DSMax and using text files for tuning and other car data, a tutorial can be made. I really would consider this idea. Thank you!
-the server (demo) is called RDDR1°HANGOUT_SERVER. i see it on LFS World, but i dont think you can see it on the master server. i also dont think that you will connect after clicking the join link because it says "ClientConnect : connect failed"
- I can only connect to my server by going to Multiplayer>Join Specific Game>local network, but it wont work on the internet tab selection. it wont show up on the master server . I am sure that the only way guests can connect is to go to join specific game>local network> and type in my ip. Please help
-do i need to have DHCP enabled? do i use the dhcp ip for everything that asks for an ip address? if so, how do i enable it?
and how exactly do i do this? can the ip address be the one shown when you type "cmd" into Run, or do i have to change that one? also, how do i trigger ports?
- I can only connect to my server by going to Multiplayer>Join Specific Game>local network, but i dont think it will show up on the master server . I am sure that is the only way guests can connect, too. Please help
im pretty sure im doing everything right except for my IP address. why would i need a static ip address? if i'm not going to use a static ip address, then which ip address should everything be set to (like the port opening, port forwarding, etc.)?
many people are having trouble getting a server up and im starting to think that it is literally impossible for some people because i'm pretty sure i've done everything done correctly, except for the settings of my ip, and i don't think that is going to help or make the server function properly at all
This is what i have done from the beginning until now:
I downloaded and configured the LFS Dedicated Server host program from www.lfs.net . then i went to My Network Places and added the 63392 and 29339 ports for both TCP and UDP to the list of allowed ports (total of 4 allowed ports relating to LFS in list). these are set to my ip address (found by going to Run... then typing "cmd" into the space and pressing OK, typing "ipconfig" and pressing enter). i also allowed the ports on the Windows Firewall. then i typed 192.168.1.1 into the browser, logged in (with username blank and the password "admin"), and enabled the 29339 and 63392 ports for both TCP and UDP for my ip address (same one as before). I went to the Port Triggering section and filled out the spaces for the different ports i forwarded. i then set it to allow anonymous internet requests. then i restarted my computer.
Question #1: Am I opening my ports correctly?
Question #2: Am I using the right IP address and am I using them in the right ways and places?
Question #3: Do I need to get a static IP address?
Question #4: Am I forwarding my ports correctly?
Question #5: Is there anything else I need to do?
Question #6: I hear you have to use a command to start LFS.exe. What exactly is that?
Question #7: Do I need to use WINE?
Question #8: Does setup.cfg have to be set to nogfx or invisible?
