Greeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeat. The out of bounds track are the most awesome part of the circuit, those amazing houses, streets... the circuit is toooooooo much better than the one before, I used to hate WE1, but I think I will love it for now on.
Really, great job.
It would be interesting to have a complete straigth street to reach 400kmh if necesary :c

Look at Redmaytals name. The name gets bended from the outside car camera.
http://snag.gy/CAkbR.jpg

But not from the inside or other camera:
http://snag.gy/XzAws.jpg

Another picture where you can check that the nickname gets "twists" from the X axis
http://snag.gy/PIuf2.jpg

And also, from the cockpit camera the nickname gets completely horizontal

K, someone told me this bug is known
https://www.lfs.net/forum/post/1867337#post1867337

Edit: well, actually not.
It should me attached to the X axis like this (danielin name):

And Redmaytals nickname isnt

KY , http://snag.gy/SxhNz.jpg , invisible terrain at the right of the image. You can see it from the car

Maybe it was also on 6F and nobody noticed

[EDIT by Scawen - removed img tags as the image seemed to re-download every time I visited this page]

Umm, do you remember things you did in the past, or is your past life just a blur...

I don't know you can know. I simply know that I haven't gone and downloaded any high res custom texture packs.

You can install the new textures anyway, they can't stop LFS working. It's just that you would see the default LFS versions of the trees and other transparent things, rather than the ones from a custom texture pack.

Well... I remember that on ~2007 I installed a texture pack but I can't remember if since then my LFS got uninstalled at least once, it has been many years Scawen :/

Thank you, Sorry for the offtopic :C

I am a mouse player and all my mouse configuration get erased every time I update the game.
Is there a way to keep the settings?

I don't really know what this means. Which settings exactly disappear? Is this every time you install a test patch? I don't see any reason for that, but could have a look if you describe a simple case of how to reproduce the problem.

Ohhhhhhh okay, I did something wrong. I made a copy of the LFS folder and changed it name. So all path were wrong. Now I have switched the folder names and all OK.

Furthermore, how do I know if I have installed any custom textures?

thanks

Ramp dissapearing from Replay

Hi

I noticed by looking at an old replay, so I suspect it is the old Ramp (the one which had no grip, like ice). It's texture/sprite is invisible.

Damn! I read the main thread https://www.lfs.net/forum/thread/2626-Suggested-improvements-log-%5BREAD-before-making-a-new-thread%5D and found nothing. I'm not done for searching

Thx!
hard braking, locking and tyre wear

Hi.
Someone is going to kill me if the tyre physics release gets extended because of this XD.

Let's see... I know Scawen want to create the most realistic tyre physics. Maybe he is working on this too or he is done with it. My suggestion:

This is the actual tyre on LFS:

The tyre is a polygon. Each side of the polygon is independent from the others. This is OK, probably the new tyre physics will allow a more detailed polygon, I agree.

However, only the polygon in contact with the ground suffer interaction with it. This causes a serious realistic problem. When you brake hard and the wheel locks, only the side of the polygon in contact to the ground will worn.
In a picture:

You can check this by looking at the replay attached, you can reach easily 999ºC on a side without blowing up the tyre. It will only blow up by wear or by reaching 200ºC in all the wheel by average (getting +999ºC on multiple sides).

At low speed you will see in the replay that the car bounces a bit when the worn side of the polygon touches the ground, perfect. But at higher speed the bounces get really smooth and the suspension doesn't get damaged too much.

My suggestion is the following: Neighbour sides of the polygon should be worn if the side touching the ground depth reach their height. (A true wheel lock)

This could be done by maths instead of multiple polygon-ground contact. <<< I assume Scawen is working also on this.

By the way, sorry if it's hard to understand me

engine switch off, +80kmh + limiter

I know this problem a year ago. I thought someone had report this, but actually not.
If you hit the limiter button over 80 km/h and you press clutch ultil the car switch off.
Try your self, to switch off the car you must be always up to +80 kmh

Scawen, I'm pretty sure someone told you actually about this but... the searcher engine and me... we don't fit together XD

I want to talk about the wing forces. I know it's not the thread, but I didn't want to make a new one
It's known every tyre deformation (position caused by a crash, tyre pressure...) causes his own contact point to be changed.
Why doesn't this happen to the wings? I assume it's all about how to emulate reallity.
I have thought about 3 attached force points in every wing, the 2 sides and middle wing. It's logical a wing compression by a wall hit but not an expasion (some LFS crashes make your wing wider). If you get your wing damaged, those points would move and every grip calculation would be different.
I saw LFS wind, on a stopped car, generates a variable downforce that changes based on wind intensity and direction.
Now, the LFS downforce direction it's represented by a triangle on forces menu. So this would make the game more interesting on 6h races etc

I feel my words are poor in explanation, my english is not so deep... However I hope you all understand what I want to say.

Just a point Scawen.
I don't own a Rift but... how would it work if you play LFS on a simulation chair with your Rift?
I mean... if the chair pitch when you throttle, the rift will think you are looking up.

I really prefer the new tyre physics than scirocco or rockingham

I still enjoy plas LFS as a game, so I just hope one day LFS will be the community as the past was, on S3 lauch

It's not a crash report, but...
My last LFS version was 0.6B, updated to 0.6E.
I went to single player, tried to join the track and i got a CAR ERROR. I went to available cars and i saw that i just could take xfg, xrg or fbm.
So, "i'm at demo licence!" i thought. I took the XFG car, joined the track, made a few laps an recorded the replay.

What i get if i try to replay it is replay OOS ERROR

Quote from Whiskey :I guess it's the same bug that sometimes don't let you change from 1st to 2nd while your tires are spinning.

I belive it has something to do with how much torque is generated on the engine and how much is transferred into the ground. I think it works that way because this never fails at redline, and it's the first time I see it failing without tires spinning, but this setup is oval-oriented, so may be a extreme situation that also causes the bug.

Nope the set is not oriented for oval, look at the camber. It's a normal set with 20% restriction, so the car is slower.

Don't ask me for the setup because i have deleted it, just because i thought we had enough with "test drive"
Gear up problems

It happened to me in other car like fox, its hard to reproduce the "fail", but i found a nice set to do it with F08:
I'll attach replay
I have got not a good english so... the replay will explain the problem itself. By the way, if you put bot cars with that setup, they cant gear up
In the video the problem appears when i change 3rd to 4th or 4th to 5th

Note: I'm using mouse+keyboard, so gear up its done just pressing the key, in the replay sometimes i use the clutch or not throttling.
Try the car by "test drive"

Quote from M.M.L. :Ok... Now when I connect to server get message "**CONDUCT WARNING** 2 bans until global 30 day ban!", so If he can remove this.

That happens when you get banned, unbanned, banned again, unbanned again, etc from the same server
it can be done in a few min and that sux pretty hard. If i want to i could ban you twice and you'll get the 30 day ban from LFS because i wanted to. Pure crap

Something cool happened, people choosed We1R and after the track auto changed into AS5 when the race was going to begin, then some random people got kicked.

Seems to have admin-server powers
