Quote from dekojester :NDR.iTCC 2011 is currently non-passworded, and set to the Round 1 combo, practice mode. Votekick enabled incase some wrecker etc comes in when an admin isn't present.

Today I was banned by some crazy welsh guy, I think for sure he was ginger but I carnt remember his name :/

Quote from MaurizioNaselli :I haven't touch my wheel for 3 days and 1 hour ago i made another test whit the method from Kart. I drive 1.01,15 without problems and i am sure to beat his time when i have 1 hour practice but i don't want to have this kind of wr.

Beat my time, and upload replay, I wanna see how doing 10laps gets you 1tenth.

Quote from IsaacPrice :I'm pretty sure that in a UF1, it is very slightly faster to do say a 20 lap run than to do 3-4 laps then shift p and do it again(0.0x). I wouldn't really say its cheating though, any of the laps he did could have been wr laps, so why shift p and have to tyre heat again or maybe... Joe your always getting into trouble for your hotlaps, maybe you are a dirty cheater afterall

but really the thread is just a retaliation to the fact he did a lap which they cant beat, I think.

Haha :P but yeah you got it right with the laps thing, although I dot think doubt over 20laps is worth much at all, perhaps 0.05 or not even that, when you burn the tyres down in a uf1 it just gets understeery like hell, but mehh

Btw I like the last bit you wrote Isaac, made me laugh :P

Lol you guys say it like im cheating :P
Watch the replay and you will see what this guys is talking about, which is my outlap where i slide around producing heat. This is no 'bug' its just the same as a F1 car having the tyre heaters, only i have to do it manually

So as far as I aware all this is about th so1 uf1 wr, since that was the first post where the trick has been used. If doing 12 laps in a uf1 gives you thin tyres then I use this trick. If doing an outlap sliding around to get heat into your tyres is this trick, then ibuse this trick. Now naselli, you have done like 6 laps on a hl so you use this trick aswell... :P

Bu anyway, if you think doing over 10 lap in a uf1 on a track that is just over 1min long give you thin tyres you are completely mistaken

Well dave, what happens is this...
In the wr I spend a lap getting heat into the tyres, to around 55-60 temp, and this is some sort of trick they are saying which is making me faster, or atleast that what I'm understanding from their posts.
So that's what this is all about

Well, i see that wearing down the tyres is somthing which can make you fast, But heating up the tyres for a lap to produce some heat, of which i think i got them to around... 55-60 temp. So that wont wear them down

Quote from MaurizioNaselli :For me the thing is completed.
I only know that under normal circumstances (without burning tires) i was faster.
You started with this method. Who knows why.

I also don't have all day time to do Hotlaps.
I have 2 children and a woman.

Ahhh, now i see what you mean, where i do like a lap where i get heat into my tyres. I do this so that i dont just have to drive like 2 laps waiting for them to get hot, this doesnt burn down the tyres, only produces heat so i dont have to waste time driving pointless laps.

Quote from MaurizioNaselli :After you've used this "trick" I have also tried out for the first time and immediately noticed that it is faster but this morning i deleted my hotlap (1.01,20) from lfsworld because i don't want to have this type of world record

I wouldnt say ive used this track at all, i think i did 12 laps, which on a short track like this is not much at all. If your gaining time by doing more than lets say 5 laps, then i want to have what you got. I get no faster from lap 5-50 in a UF1.

Quote from MaurizioNaselli :Each of us has a different opinion.
I share the opinion of Michele and I am proud of my 1.01,22 without this "trick".
I will never do in this art (burning tyres) world records.
To each his own

Who uses this 'trick' for SO1 UF1 anyway?

Quote from michele0676 :Some day ago was started the Italian Champs 2011.
The first combo is UF1 in SO1, look here: http://www.lfsic.net/airioscri ... ack=SO1&orderby=times

Like all the year, can happens that someone do a new WR in the combo.

And this time is happen the same think.

First Maurizio Naselli did the wr, then Kart has taken ... that Maurizio again ... then Kart ... and actually Maurizio has the wr.

Where is the problem ?

The problem is simple ... I think that is really absurd that a pilot makes a world record in a track by exploiting a bug in the simulator.
The bug is the overheating of tires for many laps.

When Scawen solve this problem that makes LFS an arcade (and not a simulator) ?

In UF1, burning down your tyres wont get you any more speed
but of course in the single seaters and GTR's its alot faster

Quote from Drifters Only :I personally don't, specially not in the race because you'll wreck your suspension eventually. I stay clear of them, I think in the race there will be sanctions maybe for when you hit a pole 3 laps in a row or something because it's just clear cutting imo.

Low 41 is easilly possible without going for the poles and you can exit very well without hitting them or getting even close to them. I try to stay as much with 2 wheels on the tarmac as possible there. Try to aim around 155kph at the exit.

Personally I aim for around 160-165kph on exit
