I know from my 20 hours of practice for 16h of Aston (in which we didn't participate btw.) that XRT is the best when it comes to tyre wear - it was pretty easy to make the tyres last for whole full tank stint.

It's OT but I would recommend you NOT to use Skype - from my experience it lags a lot. Use TeamSpeak or Ventrillo instead while playing LFS.
