Pay a visit to their site once a while, so their sponsors get happy
Sorry if you've covered this already. I've made a ircbot which give feedback when a pb, wr or hotlap is requested by a trigger. Will this type of usage be covered by a fee, or will such information be available for free?
First off, a big thank you to the OLFS team, making this league possible and alive!
I would like to come with a suggestion, or maybe more of a request, to FienDi.
Since OLFS is one of the most popular leagues around, and with the latest addition with team-standing, it would be nice to have access to the stats. Since Victor made a nice solution to this, it would be great to see the same option in the OLFS page. This way, we could fetch the information off your site, without having to parse the whole thing. I'm not sure how the site is build, but I don't think it would be too hard to make it work. So, if FienDi got the time, and think this is a nice way to spread the stats, i would be happy to see this sometime in the future..
And I understand if this is too much to ask for, just thought of mentioning it.
"The Register reports that Microsoft and Nissan have created the first integrated gaming system within a vehicle. Not just in the vehicle, but the vehicle becomes part of the gaming system. From the article: "Conceived by Nissan Design America Inc. (NDA) and equipped with the Xbox 360 next-generation video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Nissan URGE concept car allows drivers (while parked) to play 'Project Gotham Racing 3' using the car's own steering wheel, gas pedal and brake pedal while viewing the game on a flip-down seven-inch LCD screen," Nissan and Microsoft said in a statement." -- From slashdot.org
Hey Scawen, could you make some calls, and do the same thing?
Got RGT wheel today, and here are my experience with it:
Wheel: Good grip, rubber witch feels good. The paddler are made of plastic, and they feel abit cheap, a possible weak point. There are 8 buttons, one joypad (8 ways). Together with Joy2Key you got all info from the weel, without having to take the hands off the wheel. The gearshift is made off plastic, very light and feels just like an arcade-joystick. In my opionion it could be left out.
FFB: Very strong, quiet and accurate. My old Logitech Wingman FF GP is not compareable to this. This is just superb!
Pedales: Metal plates on the shafts. Shafts itself are made of plastic, as rest of the rig. The break-pedal had about 0.2-0.5cm of deadzone from startingpoint. The connector is the same as the one Logitech uses, and also the wheel got two sockets for this, so it's possible to have two sets of peddals connected at once.
After about 4 hours of driving it started "quirking". The springs where forced against the plastic underneath. Had to check it out, and modded it. Worked for 1hour :/
Drivers: 5_FDD version works okay in LFS, nothing to complain about. (except maybe a littlebit low feedback in the curbs?) 8_FDD ( dated 9.12.2005) gave me fps-stutters, and had to be discarded. Currently using 5_FDD.
Overall, a good wheel compared to the money invested ( 112 Eur ). But I have to think something out about the "quirking"-sound witch starts to be very anoying. (Any hints?).
I'll take it down to [Cyb]Owl and Holycow in January, and let them compare it to the MOMO, witch would be most interessting.
A hotlapset is made for one/two laps only. With a raceset you could do far more laps without the same wear as with your hotlapset. Not tested how many laps you can do with a raceset, but it's more than half the race, I think. (someone, correct me if i'm wrong.)
I've been working on a MPR-parser for what could be a new lfs-league. I'm going to release it as a opensource project when I think it is stable enough, so everyone who would like, could use it.
I've read the header-format from Scawen, and its easy to follow, but as I see it, the player-names listed in the header only shows the playernames finishing the race. So if someone drops out midgame, they will not show up. Is there any other way to get the player-table from the MPR without doing a lot of guessing? (iow, have someone stumbled into this problem before?)
Anyone got anything to say, good or bad, about this one? I'm on for some new equip this x-mas. So, the choice is "Driving Force Pro" or "Rallye GT", and not being sure witch one to go for I come here for suggestions
.. and, took a quick search here about this, but got no results, so don't flame me if this have been up for discussion here before..
