SimRacing.ca JOIN THE ADMINISTRATION TEAM
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
SimRacing.ca provides a dedicated server to the LFS community at large. Our administrators look after setting the tracks, qualify & race sessions as they require for practice / race events.

We are trying out a new concept in dedicated server administration, free admin rights! Administrators will have free reign of our server, the idea is that team / league organizers can have access to extra practice / event time provided it won’t conflict with previous admin’s usage schedule. (If there’s enough interest you may have to book it but for now it’s pretty much available.)

By the way, we don’t expect you to tag your name ( [sr.ca]name...unless ya really want to )

So, interested in joining our administration team?

It’s really not hard, just drop us an email at: [email protected] with your: LFS Name, LFS NickName, Nationality & Time Zone.

Just one last thing: By submitting the above form, I understand and agree that as a SimRacing.ca administrator I will be held accountable to the highest standards of racing etiquette. (We are based in Canada after all.)

I further understand that my standing as an administrator may be revoked at any time if I'm found to be an ****.

Quote from DeadWolfBones :Bear in mind that this rule, either way we do it, applies to both people who spin on their own and people who are spun by others. Unless the admins actually see it happen when it happens (and this is rare) it's going to be very difficult to assign blame until after the race is over. This was part of the reason we originally decided to let the drivers re-join where they recover.

BUT if i get spun by driver 'x' & lost my positions be well advised that I'd let you know about it. I would say in such an instance you will get innocent drivers involved so innocent bystanders get to pit for repairs while the field does another pace lap. The innocent after repairs get to catch the BACK of the field...(pit stop race ONLY, no position change after the stop) the offender gets to start from the pits AFTER THE LAST CAR of the pack cross the s/f line.

Makes for some quick marshalling work though.

I was on TS with my team and it was really helpfull (safer) to have a spotter...will it be possible to have 2 drivers on the server 1 to drive and 1 to spot for this round only?

Nobo, how do you know the difference between friends & foes, don't they all just list as buddies?

Quote : Drivers who spin under the SC will re-join the line in the position in which they recover. (Rule H-2.5)

I've not had a chance to read the doc yet but does this not introduce the possibility of some fairly aggressive driving after the spin by the driver who spun and was therefore likely being too agressive anyway? Or the possibility of ppl blocking the spin driver? After all they were behind and have just magically been handed 1 place. I think that if you can't maintain control under the SC and you get yourself into a position to spin then you should sit tight and rejoin at the back of the pack, too bad so fu**ing sad, learn control & patience, I bet it'd only happen once.

Sorry for the rant, it didn't start that way but I really think there are drivers online (not anyone here, we got a really good group) that need to learn the Art of Racecraft

ya...maybe for us non-nascar familiar drivers a little pic or two of exactly where the pit in/out lanes are. on pit exit I gotta go all the way around the left hander till the striaght right?

Quote from thisnameistaken :If you'd gone to one side of the track and not used the indicator at all, what do you think would've happened?

Sorry I could have been clearer...as I exit a left hander that naturally flows the racing line to the right, and, as a lapping car exits behind me, I'll signal right to indicate that, even though i'm on the racing line that I'll stay to that side....body language & signals.

Point was that I don't signal to the right to go left.

But to get back OT yes it would be handy if I didn't have to shut them off manually...signal, let it blink 10-15 times then automatic shut off

If I'm being lapped, which happens ALL the time , I go to one side of the track, lets say the right, put my indicator on indicating right. I've NEVER had an incident. Pretty straight forward / obvious really...anyone who's lapped me wanna comment?

b is correct

just to clarify...you will be released from the pits with a min. of 20%...if you come in w/19% you'll get 1% added BUT if ya come in w/21%, nothing happens and ya leave w/21%

I'm not into Nascar so the oval realy dosen't get me going. I'll make a quick set and balance it but I really dont need to spend hours learning the track (i can turn left pretty good i think) I'll take advantage and learn Aston North which I've really not done much on

However it's in the series I signed up for and it will be a different experience. Honestly I think it will be a very interesting race and one where strategy will be much more fun

BUT I will NOT be a very happy racer if I get bumpdrafted and spun.

Realistically though each team only has one car on the track at a time and I get the impression that bumpdrafting in the LFS community is generally seen as unsportsmanlike and we've got some of the topest drivers competing. (guys i'm not afraid to battle door to door with through corner after corner) I would actually be surprised if it's a tactic that gets used.
