-force using 900 degrees wheel
-force using clutch pedal
-force using H shifter
-force using 3 monitors
-force using FORCE DYNAMICS
-force using BRAIN for all servers !!
that would be really coool
I use custom view to see the car hood, for me its more natural then see the whole interior. When i drive in real life i dont focus on car interior. I just observe whats happening on the street (track). So please dont force me to see 2 steering wheel, or to disable it and see my wheel on desk and an ampty car interior.
remove it or add options to customize the interior view.
spankmeyer: ist a simulator right? force players to buy that stuff, what the hell.
#2 - lol i agree about the force dynamics
but on the monitor, the dash board takes too much space (and its a strange feeleing seeing the small dashboard so far away), while in real life ive got the whole big windshield just before me.
Belive me, in year 2007 +4000 polys for 8 crew members, and +40000 polys if 10 players would pit equal time, isnt a big deal to render realtime (speciealy with LOD options) - 2d sprites were good for duke nukem. Simply look at F1 challange from 2000 and the virtual pit crew... today we have GF8800 cards (and LOD options for those who havent got a g80) so it is really no big deal.
Time for a small bump.
Is there a chnce that Scawen will add the flags into Race results? Its so easy, and such a great idea... just like here on forums <-----
Sorry to say, but the new engine sounds are much worser than before (how is that possible). I really wish You could use just sound samples, easier and much better. Anyway Im looking forward for sound tweakimg with next patches.
I think the "timed out" is not the same disconnection, as a normal game exit.
About the normal engine failures like overheating i'm also for normal temp simulation etc. But what i meant is a really random failure, like Michael Schummacher at Suzuka this year. He didnt overheat his engine and it wasn't his fault
As we all know, disconnection form a server during a race (specialy a long race) is a very frustrating thing. We ever won't be able to avoid this issue and it will happen from time to time to all of us. So lets make a use of it to add a bit realism to the game.
As we also know, Scawen doesn't want to add to LFS random engine, transmission, brake failures etc. because he doesn't want to make luck decide of a race results instead to driver skills and car setups.
To the point:
My idea is to make, in case of disconnection (time out), an animation, to the disconnected player car, of smoking engine, or oil leak and give information that he has an engine failure for example. engine blow - xxx player (disconnected). Transsmision problem would be the closest to the true, but engine blows would be more spectacular . The car would slow down and stop. After a short while the car could disapear, or in later LFS versions it could be pushed of the track by the marshals. The disconnected player won't be able to see this, but to all other racers it could be much more fun then xxx player disconnected... The disconnected player would be able to see this in a replay - recorded by someone else. Also in DNF reasons there would be an info about it.
As i said, disconnections are mostly the reasons of DNF in leagues. It's something that will never be eliminated from an online game. Why don't to make a use of it so everyone could be happy. People who wants random failures in LFS, and Scawen and all people who don't want it.
And how about the tracks not used for F1 races anymore? For example the Suzuka or Imola track. Who do u have to pay to add an orginal track? I guess if the track is out of a series like F1, u have to buy the rights direct from the track owners, and this should be much cheaper then the F1 licenses. Am I wrong?
Edit: The new Japan GP will take place at the Fuji Track.
It's more like S3 suggestion but still.
I was playing Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix 4 a bit, and there is a feature that would be really cool to have it within LFS imo. What I mean is the animated pit crew, and animated track marshals waving the flags, or pushing damaged cars out of track. GP4 is an old game, bit the way how it's done there, gives a great feeling of real life racing. The animated crew isnt poly high, but still looks really good so it wouldnt low the game perfomance much.
What do u think?
Some GP4 pit stop screens, If someone doesn't know the game:
I have played the demo for months, before I decided to buy the full game. If i would have only few hours to do testing, I wouldn't be a S2 lincensed racer today.
I think the demo is just optimal. Just look how much more S2 can offer.
Dont know if this were reported and if this can be changed but imho the marshal model changes much to late from low poly to medium, and from medium to high... u can clearly see his change...
i think it s bullsh. what do u mean with "its not supported" (i know there were some threads about it). the only thing that cannot be supported in multiple routes could be the AI, Maps, and maybe hotlaps... there is nothing to support if u add a segment of 3D track for cruising... the 2nd thing that is possible is that the graphics engine wouldn t be able to load the track on fly, and it would be to big to load it whole at once... but don't tell him IT'S NOT SUPPORTED, because thats simply "blebleble i have no idea about it"- there is nothing to support for cruising! should i repeat it tommorow?
