Quote from J@tko :First one to do the lap gets the higher position.

Yeah...that's very unfair. Especially if you get the lower cue (which I always get :razz.

Quote from tristancliffe :I suppose thousandths would be nice one day. Anything more - 10 thousandths - isn't necessary in LFS or real life, but it is something to wow the fans with (who think that having timing to 10 thousands of a second actually helps).

http://spreadsheets.google.com ... FI1k7pKLg&output=html

Also. The interval between 2nd and 3rd at indycar kansas in 2005 was 0.0001. So tell me that doesnt matter in real life

EDIT: misread tristan's post

Quote from Timdpr :While 0.0099 is pretty impressive, the margin between 2nd and 3rd was 0.0001! If Bryan Herta had farted he would have got 2nd. (Please don't go into the physics of that. It would happen. Okay?)

LOL I've actually never bothered to check the 2nd and 3rd...but wow...0.0001. That blew my mind
LFS's scoring (Oval Question)
lizardfolk
S2 licensed
Ok...now...I never really fully got a sure answer on this. I've heard many many things from multiple different people.

As most, if not all of you know, LFS calculates (or shows) down to the hundredth decimal place.

And, as most if you already know (either from experience or just plain logic) that calculation is usually not close enough for oval racing and finishes (and sometimes this isn't enough for circuits as well).

Does LFS even calculates below the hundredth decimal place? Is the scoring chart accurate if...lets say 1st and 2nd's finish time is the same?

Any clarification (or discussions) would be appreciated.

Quote from JustForFunRacing :omg... you are right - the skin is totally messed up

SORRY!

I am rendering it again this afternoon! (my home PC is way faster so it´t won´t take the whole night)

EDIT: updated

Sorry for the late response but those renders are great thanks

Quote from John5200 :jeje still need to fix some thinks but here a wip

That looks wonderful John. The more renders we have the better. Keep me updated on your progress (and thanks for choosing to render our skins )

EDIT: JustForFunRacing...I noticed an error with your render. The left rear wheel is a little messed up. Here, this is the problem. Would you mind fixing it?

Quote from blackbird04217 :As far as the racing, that was great. But the video was rather boring; the default camera shots - and not only just the default camera shots but the same ones over two laps. (Until the very end where you did add another perspective). I know you were likely not aiming to make a quality video; but (and without meaning to sound as harsh as it does) I think this would have been best written in a story vs shown like this.

Add different points of view and play with the cameras for a little bit of time, it will give a lot better result; possibly liven it up with some form of music. Not saying remove the ingame sounds, but some background music would be a nice touch. Like I said, the racing was nice.

Yeah i understand that the video was just...well...racing with default cameras. But this race just happened like 8-10 hours ago. So I didn't exactly bothered to think about how to make this more entertaining beyond the intense racing.

I may remake it in the future...but probably not. This was meant more as just conveying that racing in the Kyoto 250 CAN be great without anything non-diagetic elements. I put this together quickly mainly cause lotsa people were a little disheartened by the massive amounts of cautions and crashes from the practice sessions

Yann Laprevotte and I found ourselves side by side for the entire last lap. Was pretty intense stuff...especially going down into T3 and coming off of it.

I want to say sorry to mike on that first accident. That was completely my fault. I'm very sorry. I'll do my best to see that it wont happen again

Quote from Kid222 :Sorry to Lizard and then to the whole field behind for the second caution, my fault. Check replay, if you want to have laugh at me.

Everything was quite good before, it was my first laps since last years KY 250 on this combo, so i was happy with my position until the point, when it all went balls.

Sorry once again.

I saw it as a racing incident. It's np

Race was caution filled but i'm sure it will get better. I had an absolutely fantastic final lap with Yann and the #12 of Hofer. Absolutely wonderful driving by the front runners. I'm looking forward to this more and more despite the huge amount of cautions.

Excuse me, I dont mean to bring up a dead thread. But I'm currently working on building the 09 results for the Clockwork team and I dont have our results for the Dystonia 350 oval race.

Is it possible that someone who has the replay or results please tell me what my teammate and I got (lizardfolk and mustafur)?

Thank you

Quote from smove :Thanks for the support!

I considered using the FZ50 as well, but I'm afraid a car resembling a Porsche - even if it's fully restricted - isn't really appropriate to compete with cars similar to a Fiesta, a Lupo, an Astra or even a Yaris, don't you think?

Nah, I actually dont think it looks that flashy. It's completely up to you of course. But the FZ5 would make an epic addition.

Throw in the FZ5 as well!!! That car is so under used

Anyways it's a very interesting idea. I'm defintely willing to participate in any way I can (and hopefully a league as this is a very interesting league idea)
