Quote from tristancliffe :I think it proves that it isn't a gold ring, but a brass ring with a very thin (at most) plating of gold.

The brass reacts with the fluids and minerals on your skin, and produces the blue colouration. Not much you can do, other than buy better jewellery.

well ok, then it isnt gold. But should I be worried about this? Is there any effects short term or long term? (besides the discoloration)

What would be NASCAR's criteria for intentional wrecking?

All I have to say is...4 Ovals and 4-6 road courses would be awesome. Nothing really wrong with a 9-10 race schedule if it's often.

Ovals:
Ky1r
K500
Martinsville
Rockingham at the end (and if not have another KY1 race)

Road courses:
Atleast 2 street courses since indy focuses quite a bit on these anyways.
metal skin discoloration?

Hey guys, I know this is a weird question. But right now I have a strange problem occurring that I would like to know more about. If you're wondering why I dont ask someone near me...well...

I'm currently on Thanksgiving break and I cant go home so I'm living the week off in my college dorm. Suffice it to say it is a GHOST TOWN here lol. I feel like I'm in I am Legend

Anyways on to the problem:

I bought a gold ring recently and after a few days of wearing it. My skin is starting to become discolored around where I'm wearing it. Is this natural? Anyway I can stop the ring from doing that? (The discoloration is blue is). I know it's not me loosing circulation because the ring fits very loosely on my finger. The discoloration is only where the ring makes contact with the skin.

Thanks for any help and advice

Quote from pik_d :Lizard, they're pointing out the forum drama that all teams mentioned create, not saying that they are related or share common members.

But Clockwork's drama was internal and concerned no one else. And as far as I know that's the only drama we've had throughout our entire run. I mean we tried our best to act professionally even if we were horribly off pace occasionally.

Quote from pik_d :I thought Sean was in Clockwork for a short amount of time, doesn't that make him ex-Clockwork?

Yeh, left that out accidentally. You're right. Half of Optix's lineup is ex-Clockwork. But what I'm trying to point out is that Optix isn't just Clockwork renamed. We're not team spawning. this is a result of staying in GTAL and depending on how we do (or how the other two new recruits feel) we might stay but will probably not.

We dont have a forum or site yet and this thread is just for organizational purposes

Quote from PMD9409 :The reason they don't do anything is because they are just harming each other.

Just because no one else became an innocent victim doesnt mean that intentional wrecking should be allowed or encouraged.

Quote from PMD9409 :It's the fact that he said he was intentionally going to wreck him. Brad might have moved Denny quite a few times but that was just payback from a previous incident in corner. Denny straight said (and he's the "veteren".....) that he was going to wreck him and he did.

Well

1. I'm a little more angry that the penalty was so lenient.
2. Ok fine, Denny painted his own hand red. But NASCAR has penalized before for "aggressive driving" on incidents that are arguably just racing incidents before. the best example I can think of right now would be Tony Stewart's penalty when he came down onto Bowyer (bowyer and edwards wrecked as a result). To me that was obviously not intentional wrecking because Tony put out a hand letting Bowyer know that he will be coming down and it doesnt make sense that someone would intentionally take someone out by coming down onto them like that. BK's incidents are so much more blatant and BK isn't penalized?

This isn't the first time that NASCAR has let go intentional wrecking. Remember Hamlin taking out Reutimann earlier this year?

Quote from GreyBull [CHA] :Sean must have been really busy on these days... Leaving SRLT 20 days ago, then joining 4Stroke, leaving it 5 days after in order to join Clockwork, taking the management of Clockwork after it virtually closed, before letting it die a few hours later, then announcing his retirement from LFS on MSN.... And FINALY, a few days later, setting up a brand new(?) team, Optix Racing, with some ex-Clockwork folks....

Internet - Serious business:rolleyes:

Pretty much. Although you have to admit Sean is fast. It's one of the main reasons why I opted to stay with him in GTAL.

But GreyBull (and others out there) please look at it this way. Clockwork held the #13 team slot. GTAL is a great league to learn more about GT endurance racing. So deko and NDR gave us an ultimatum. Find, more drivers, prepare accordingly or else.

Sean and I wanted to stay in GTAL. And the chance of me getting another ride is 0 because 1. I'm not alien fast (or fast at all really) and 2. Most if not all of the lineups are filled. So Sean contacted me with a request to join him (he's fast keep in mind) in GTAL. I said fine because I want to race in a respectable league with fast drivers and gain more experience. Signed two new drivers (and one of them relatively on good pace). Also note that the only ex-Clockwork Member is me. No one else

So here's Optix Racing. This is not a team outside of GTAL and I created this thread because I wont be on MSN much cause of Thanksgiving break. This is to let all the other Optix Racing guys know that I haven't forgotten about this and to remind them to please practice.

So while it really doesnt seem like Optix is a serious venture because of Sean's involvement Greybull, please note that this is a desperate attempt at securing a place in GTAL. So yes, this is serious business in fact, all of us are working hard to try to gain some organization around this team so we dont make a complete fool of ourselves when GTAL R2 comes around.

While this thread is easily misunderstood, I would appreciate any other heckling away from us please.

Quote from Foqs :ohh yeah, another SRLT/Clockwork/Rebel-Blood thread.

What? Are you accusing me of team hopping or spawning?

Throughout my ENTIRE LFS career I've been in:
Storm Racing
Clockwork Motorsports

and the only team I've made is Clockwork Motorsports (which lasted a little less than a year).

Regardless of what others may think Clockwork Motorsports was serious team. We have have been backmarkers but we all tried our best with what we've got and we've managed to avoid almost all drama until recently.

Quote from Deutschland2007 :Don´t forget all the stuff (The Stig) was involved in.

Since when was the Stig involved with Clockwork or me for that matter? the mob mentality in this forum is absolutely astonishing at times.

Quote from PMD9409 :Because Brad never "intentionally" crashed Denny.

But penalties like that have the "aggressive driving" label, not the "intentionally wreck" label. They can totally still slap BK with that penalty and still can cover themselves if the driver says "he never intentionally wreck someone"

Regardless of whether it's intentional or not (and i think it's pretty obvious that it is), it's still way too aggressive to be clean racing. It's just like the move twice rule in F1. Whether or not you intentionally weaved or just changed your mind mid move, FIA will still slap you with a penalty whether you intentionally blocked unfairly or not

Quote from h3adbang3r :Didn't Keselowski not receive a single penalty for any of his incidents? I'm not sure, haven't seen anything about him getting penalised.

Yup. BK didnt even get so much as a slap on the wrist and Hamlin only got a 1 lap penalty.

Quote from DieKolkrabe :Hmm, back in 1993, 1999, drivers got into each other (Earnhardt at Charlotte, Hamilton at Bristol) spinning people out, they got five lap penalties

NASCAR's too fricking soft when it comes to this...and yet they gave Tony Stewart a penalty for "aggressive driving" when he came down on Bowyer some years ago?

You dont intentionally take out someone by being in front then coming down on the person's nose...

NASCAR...stop acting like FIA and start holding your own ground...

Considering that I'm on break and cant be ok MSN or LFS that much I've decided to create a thread about this.

Anyone who doesnt know what Optix Racing is: After the fall of Clockwork Motorsports, Sean and I have recently decided to continue our venture in GTAL under a new team.

Optixs so far is not a team outside of GTAL as we have no future plans once GTAL is over. However, if the current members of Optixs wants to maintain this team then I will welcome it.

Current members are:
Me (lizardfolk)
xtraction
SAxor
Proa2414
WackoZacco
oscarhardwick

Please discuss any non vital GTAL information (such as current pace, activity, etc) here (skins and sets will be shared on MSN).

Of course, if any other people want to join Optixs I'm willing to recruit as well.

This is my current situation:
My school is now closed due to thanksgiving break and I unfortunately dont have my wheel with me. So for an entire week I'll be taking a break from LFS. However, I do expect you guys to still practice and if you want me to be in the practice session with you I will gladly join any date you set

EDIT: Here's our forum: http://optixracing.freeforums.org/index.php

Quote from DieKolkrabe :Hockey players jawing every shift?

Actually I do see Hockey players fight every game. It's sorta why my roommate watches it

The idea that NASCAR forces competition (chase for the cup, overblown team/driver drama and convenient cautions mainly) has been an old one actually
lizardfolk

well nascar has always been criticized as "forcing competition conditions". Lots of convenient caution periods to bunch the field up. Double file restarts to stimulate competition. Lucky Dog rule, etc.

Much like WWE. The only thing that NASCAR lacks to compare to WWE would be the (forced) drama and the rigged results. (But NASCAR's getting that said drama). Drivers being allowed to do what ever they do just to put on a show. HEY LETS WRECK EACH OTHER NEVER MIND THE RACING, JUST BASH EACH OTHER AROUND

Of course this isn't necessarily MY opinion. Just regugitating what I've read in other forums. I will admit tho that NASCAR does look like it's forcing competition in comparison to F1 or IndyCar. While those series just "let be what it will be". (Of course the irony of this comment is that FIA legislate the crap out of F1...but eh...pick your side folks :shrug

Their reactions are funny. But Keselowski is definitely the NASCAR's Plato and CART's Tracy...not sure if I'm too happy about that but...oh well I'll see next race.

What kind of team are you looking for?
Race: Any team willing to bring me up to speed and that participates in leagues.
Age:
19
Country:
US (represents China in leagues)
Preferred Car/Track:
GT2 GTRs and FWD GTs.
Average Laptime on Your Preferred Car/Track:
Depends on how much I have time to practice. Can be anywhere from WR +2 to WR +4. But normally on the slower side. Of course I'm willing to learn to improve my pace
How Active Are You?
Again this varies due to commitments at college although I would class myself as active. I usually race atleast 30 minutes everyday online or offline. This does improve a lot when I'm in events and leagues
What Kind of Control do you use?
Logitech G25
Time Zone:
-5 GMT

BTW sean, I'll transfer the rights to Clockwork GTAL to you so you can continue

Sean I just read you post and I was too late to respond to you on MSN. But I think this charade has gone far enough. There is no need for this kind of drama especially on incidents that werent any body's fault.

Also, with that kind of attitude I doubt anyone will want to join anyway.

I've decided to close down and leave the team.

Lap and Replay Time or Race Time if during race of incident: 1h 45-50 mins, Long Straight.
Car(s) involved: 13, 19, 26
Brief description of incident: Car 19 is trying to pass 13 while 26 is trying to lap both 13 and 19. Car 19 passes 13 on the inside and turns right into 13. A lag then occurs and 13 is punted out of the track.
