so just invest $500 in some newer used hardware, and you're good to go!
I just got a 2.0AMD Athlon, Asus mobo, an Nvidia GeForce 4200Ti, a case, and a 500W PSU for only $50 USD! (this is my rig right now because I'm ****in poor and my old comp was bleh.
Well, the other day, my friend brought over his PS2 and GT4, we plugged my GT-Force Pro in, and nothing! The damn wheel would not work at all! the buttons worked, and the wheel works in LFS... just not in GT4... anyone else have this problem? I really wanted to try it with GT4!
Ok, guys just to be clear, what I talking about is USA type autocross, not quite so twisty as Gymkhana, but no mud... absolutely NO mud. And it has to be done in a parking lot.
Also, with talking about a leage: It would be smashing to have the tracks set up per SCCA rules, and have the whole 4~5 runs a day.
A typical auto-x, has two heats for the cars, a special timing system, and during each heat, you get about 5 "timed score laps".
Whatever place you get, you accumulate points, and those points last you through the season. Right now, I'm part of here: ccsportscarclub.org and their Auto-x days are GREAT!
Well, today, I dusted off my DFP after about 2 months of non-use, and hit up the old LX-Month autocross setups in the UFR. Man, that was fun as hell! In fact it was so fun, that I'm surprised that Autocross isnt more popular and there is not a leauge for it yet.
What do you guys think, should there be one? I auto-x IRL, so it's wicked practice for me, but alone in single player, you just dont get that same feeling you get at an actual event.
PS: I also never see an auto-x server with actual auto-x in it, only drifting and such... bummer.
Oh, yeah... my bad, forgot all about those things.... you see, I'm an RX-7 enthusiast, and I got kinda "lost in my own little world" when I posted that.
carts don't have suspension, their tube-frame chassis bends, and in doing so, picks up the inside wheel in a turn, to make steering easier for example. The chassis really acts as the suspension. That's why karting frames may "look" good, but really should be replaced every ear if you have a good budget and are a top competitor.
Well, I have a DFP, but yesteday I just felt like driving the F1 around with a mouse, and trying to figure out how to make it take off like a plane with 0 DF settings.
