I just want to share with you a funny/annoying conversation ive just had in public servers with a noob. This is not a rant, noobs are to be forgive for their ignorance and I shouldn´t be in public servers if I want to avoid them.
I braked at a resonable time after the striaght at blackwood. A noob crashes into the back of me and we both spin into the dirt:
I replied ¨When your the car in front you can brake when you like!¨, which got a few smiles from others.
Away, I think alot of noobs racing in LFS don´t know how to sit behind another car and pick the right part of the track and best situation to overtake. Most of them try late braking into corners and locking up and hitting ppl.
But then most of the guides in the Beginners forum are about faster laps times. Isn´t there one about racing/overtaking/rules and etiquette of the track? And if not shouldn´t there be one?
Seems to me that in LFS it's easier and more precise to use the lap data than a video. That's the advantage of a sim, you don't have to buy the expensive hardware to track your car

When it comes to headphones I have to recomend the Sony MDR-CD280
They are the most comfortable headphones in the world!! (disclaimer: I haven't actually tried every set of headphones in the world)
I bought mine for £15 on the highstreet. Nothing touches your ear, only soft foam on your head. You don't even know you have them on most of the time, which mean you can race for hours and hours.
Mine is to stop messing around in public servers and do some organised events and clan races... ...and to finish all the DIY left on my flat (if I have enough time after racing).
It would be cool if LFS saved a backup of setups connected to an achivement, such as fastest laps and winning a race. Then you'll always have your best setting saved even if you make changes for the worst
I've been stuck at about 12.50 for the last few days. But after reading great Driving Tips post and downloading AnalyzeForSpeed I've cut it down to 10.95 in about 10 laps!!
Ok I know it's not a world record (or anywhere near it) but I'm really impressed with how big a difference it makes when putting a little bit of knowledge into practise. Thanks Victor for the great post!
