When I started league racing in LFS, I joined LFS France championship. There protest happen quite rarely. When someone does a mistake, he recognize it and say sorry, I have just failed. And in general that's all, no protest, no flame war and everyone enjoy coming back for next round.
Driving behaviour is quite good there, people aren't blocking or diving like idiots but still some accident occurs as we are all humain being.
Fyi , in F1 team radios are public, basically teams have at least three channels :
- pit to pit
- pit to car
- pit to race director
If you weren't happy with irc you could have still listen the race director radio or actually just watched remote. Anyway that's kind of useless and I think you got the point to have several guys on irc . You did a good race gratz and keep going!
PM...and at that time it was the only topic of discussion
Niki that's not personnal. You aren't responsible of a bad connection. Not really blaming you exept the fact Ixion didn't have an active representative. However just one simple question(not an attack), didn't you realize you were laggy?
With LMP2 not being really a success in the US and be a privateer class, I think Audi is more interested in DP as it can have nearly a factory team to do some nice marketing job for the US market.
Audi is probably not interested in the fact DP may be ok to drive in LM as they are keeping going in LMP1 despite Porsche arrival. On the other hand, LMP1 will no longer contest in the US so they can't advertise their product by saying we won Sebring (example). Advertising by saying we won Le Mans can be quite useless as I don't think there is a lot of american that can tell me where Le Mans is in France (probably lot of french can't as well ). Advertise like we won Daytona + Sebring is probably more efficient by far !
the problem is that only F1 got a worldwide coverage in non motorsport or sport channel. Plenty of championship are broadcasted by motors TV for example, but only passionate ppl watch it. For example a championship like GT Open isn't attractive for sponsors.
Well agree with fram & phil, if the tyres was nearer the pole, no one will cut it ^^
Tbh this pole is only useful for me because it enables you te see the apex. It is easier to see that pole than the white line on the road so you are using it as a reference point. I think that if tyre stack was closer and pole remove no one will actually cut the chicane.
When European teams go to the US for Petit Le Mans I think the safety car regulation is what take the most time to understand and cause the majority of the questions during the briefing
Well to be honest I think LLM driver just lacked a bit of awareness on that action. Wasn't intentional for sure as he tried to avoid the contact but some lagged involved make it even worse. At the end of the day he lost more from his fault than you.
I'm not against a SC for 24hours as irl you can have SC in Le Mans for example but wave around isn't fair at all for me. some teams can fight for the win all race long, and in final hour a SC occurs, if this team do a mistake (spun, dt, fail in pits,...) it can finish out of top 10 even if they have produce a strong pace but only did one mistake in last couple of lap. On other side a team with a slower pace can get podium because they got wave around each time they lost a lap and a fast guy driving in last hour. That's not fair at all.
Well Rallye get no money from spectators, but spectators have to eat, sleep,...so they spend a lot of money for that. That's how Alsace county gets 18,7 millions Euro from french rally in 2012 which is 20 times the money they have invested (this rally was sponsored by local partners including the county itself).
This is the system that Paul Ricard and its country wanna impliment to have teh French GP. You aren't really making money with motorsport related event but having 390,000 spectator for a rally (a lot less in F1 and 250,000 for Le Mans) makes local industry works really well. Le Mans "GDP" is made mainly during Le Mans 24 hours week and french rally is really helpful for Alsace.
