With that sort of budget, safety should not be an issue at all! You can easily have a modern standard size car with the majority of safety features inclusive. Most cars in that budget will be aimed at families & young professionals, so safety is a high priority for most.
For a first timer though, I would recommend a run-of-the-mill car with no bells or whistles. Something along the lines of a relatively new Ford Focus has good safety standard, powerful (enough) without being silly and a little bit of fun to drive.
TBH, there is loads to choose from. I don't even know what I would pick! Most likely a hot hatchback of some sort, fun yet practical. Don't laugh, but I've always like the Skoda Fabia vRS.
This has happened already not that long ago anyway. See here.
I think you said more eloquently what I was attempting to say Maybe because you are a journalist...and I'm an engineer...I have to make it complicated for no reason.
I can't see how Nato are going to respond to this in all honesty. At the moment the only action they will take is political.
If/when Nato ground troops move in I hope that it is solely for peace keeping purposes to monitor the region. If Russia refuse to budge, then I'd start to get a bit worried for several reasons.
1. Russia are war warmongering (one way or another) and if left untracked they will gain confidence and continue to bully other small states in the region.
2. This will show Nato as completely toothless.
3. If Nato were to move in with a force of some sort, other than a peace keeping mission (after a Russian withdrawal), I would get particularly worried about the stability of eastern Europe and how the situation might escalate.
From the map posted above, most of the corners look quite tight and slow. The back section looks faster and DF dependant. You are right though, the track has not lent itself well to overtaking recently unless wet.
IIRC Hungary is predominantly a grip rather than down force circuit. I'd say the momentum lies with McLaren in this race then. They seem to use the tyres more aggressively than Ferrari.
I want Heikki to do well for a change. All his performances need to come together at some point.
I'd like to see a McLaren 1-2, with the points going as follows:
1. Heikki
2. Lewis
3. Robert
4. Kimi
5. Nick
6. Massa
7. Crazy Dave
8. Rosberg
To me, the images you have posted show a bloated modern version with unnecessary electronics, e.g. the wheel and sat nav system or whatever it is.
Isn't the whole point of a 7 to be a no-frills drivers car? OK, maybe those electronic gizmo's are the only 'excess' but I highly doubt it. It looks as though it has been made into a more comfortable road going version.
I'd love to see what they could do simply by using modern materials and keeping it simple at the same time. A step in evolution, rather than a complete redesign.
also........it looks crap! WAAAAY to Americanised in its styling IMO.
Actually, I think I'm fairly qualified in that statement We happen to both be on the same timeline and region. We could at the very least play online at the same time.
'Percentage of racing population'-wise I think makes me even closer. There is a high percentage of racers in Europe, but much fewer here I reckon.
