I think that's the first time I've ever cheered for Hamilton

Great race, love the track.. just bring softer tyres next year, Pirelli.

Brazilians, start doing a rain dance please

sigh.. great track but Pirelli have ruined this with their ridiculously hard tyre choice.

Quote from Cornys :Does F1 plan on having any early testing in Texas or just the practice sessions which are typical of a race weekend? CotA has never been raced on before..

I think Jerome D'Ambrosio has driven around it in a 2010 Lotus, but yeah as with all new tracks the first competitive F1 running will be the usual Saturday morning practice session.

Wasn't it coming back onto the track and taking Grosjean and Webber out that he got the penalty for?

Sauber sign Hulkenberg for 2013

Interestingly it's only a one year deal, meaning he could be off to Ferrari for 2014

Quote from Mustafur :Sideways move for Hulk, unless there is some tension in the team i don't think tht is a smart move he needs to stop moving around.

Quote from gezmoor :I think people are missing something here that seems to have slipped under the radar.. Massa finsihed second.. and only 20 odd seconds behind Vettel. Sure he got some luck with the first lap incident(s).. but he still (sort of) kept pace with Vettel pretty much the whole race. Certainly wasn't being pressured much from behind either. So... it would seem obvious to me that that Ferrari was faster than people think. The commentators kept saying how it was in need of development but seemed to miss the obvious fact that the driver that ended up second was the driver who has been consistantly out driven by his team mate this year. So I'm surprised no one has wondered where Alonso would have ended up had he not been put out of the race first corner. Personally I think he may well have been giving Vettel a hard time.

That's only because Vettel was cruising for most of the entire race, though, bar the occasional attempt to bag the fastest lap (which showed that he had far more pace in hand). 20 seconds behind a car that isn't particularly trying is a LONG way. Plus, Massa was no faster than Kobayashi, Button, Hamilton or Kimi - he got the track position for second place because he had clear track after his first stop while the rest had traffic. Alonso would of course have been faster than Massa (and the 4 other drivers I mentioned) but the Red Bull was in a different league to everything else this race.

I think Grosjean is at serious risk of losing his superlicence now. One more first corner crash in the last 5 races and he could be gone.

As for Alonso, probably the first mistake he's made all season and it was a costly one. It was always going to be a miracle if he won the championship in that car, and the only reason he's leading it in the first place is creating his own miracles with his driving. But unless Ferrari impove the car, I don't think he can beat the Red Bull in a 5 race shootout.

Kobayashi and the Japanese fans put a smile on my face

Genuine lol at Kimi's post-quali interview

"Kimi, what happened?"
"I spun."

"... bit of a disaster for you and the others with the yellow flags"
"I don't care what happened to the others."

Looks like Alguersuari might be back in F1 next year:

Which is good, I think he showed enough to deserve a decent crack at it. No mention as to which team (or if it's even F1) - hopefully not HRT...

Quote from sinbad :This just in:
Young Man Uses Modern Slang of Friends and Peers.
More on this story at eleven.

I don't think it's because he's famous particularly.
Or are you expecting him to act like Stirling Moss?

It's nothing to do with the slang, it's the attitude and how it's changed since he's been in F1

Have you guys seen his Instagram page? It's chock full of horribly cringey "I'm gangsta" posing shots and shout outs to all his famous "homies". If there was ever a textbook example of how a professonal's head can be turned by fame, Hamilton is it

According to James Allen, Hamilton to Mercedes is a done deal - basically just because he wants to be a "global celebrity"

Who cares about benchmark results? They mean nothing to the user. I use Chrome because of a few extensions, but the times I do use IE9 it doesn't feel slow in any way shape or form, it's just as smooth as Chrome.

IE is actually pretty good these days (IE9), the bad old days are gone.. otherwise, Opera (although it tends to render some pages oddly for me) - those are the big four, the rest of the browsers are pretty niche

Quote from jrd.racer :Da hell? How did he manage to get himself to do that? Tweet mistake, if there is ever such a thing?

He posted a photo of the telemetry on Instagram annotated with red arrows and comments showing where he was losing time, then posted a link to it on Twitter - even racing driver excuses couldn't cover doing that as a "mistake".
