Thank's for your replies !

And it was very entertaining to read these posts^^

I'll see if my drivers are out of date, and definately look for some cheap G25/G27
all of my gaming gear (mouse, keyboard, etc etc..) is from the G-series never had any probs with them

Quote from JazzOn :Ok, ye forgot about the shifter which is a plus for G-series, but quality wise, they don't take each other a lot, which is what i was on about

Back in the days on my DFP, i modified the paddles by glueing some on the "buttons". It was alright but not as stiff as the G25 paddles, tho.

In the end it's about what you need/want and a shifter is indeed quite useful/fun. Note that the G25 shifter is kinda toyish/plastic. (PS. and has no resistance when in gear obviously - and unfortunatly)

Feedback appreciated

thank you

Quote from JazzOn :I think you should stick to you DFGT and sort out the problem.

Basically there is no big difference between DFGT and G25 (G27 would be a little bit more silent)

PS. if you are serious about simarcing get the ECCI 7000 (or was it VPP?) Now thats as good as it gets (just a tad expensive xD)

So far I see a huge difference in quality of the wheels :O
G25/27 have a much greater looks, better gear shifting paddles, and a 6 speed shifter...the wheel is even made of aluminium :O
The DFGT seems less robust in my opinion...made of plastic, only sequential shifting is possible since the shifting paddles is not very good for gear shifting (In my opinion)...

I just don't know if I should buy G25
Can't decide what wheel

I'm thinking of improving my Racing setup with a new wheel, Recently I bought the Logitech Driving Force GT, and it runs great. Except the fact that the force feedback disapears after 10 minutes of play..
But then I thought of buying either a G25 or a G27, they sound like they're some real quality wheels for a sim-racer like myself, but I don't have the greatest budget in the world...The best choice to me would be the G25, since it sounds most interesting to me...

What do you people say? should I stick with my DFGT or get a G25 ? :O

So I basicly just push "unlock" when I click on the button "Demo racer: NewAssault" ? I've had a look at it, and my acc name and game password is already typed in..

So when I've bought S2, When I push on "Unlock" it will unlock S2 content?

Quote from Silverracer :You should get something like this (might have changed, since this was two years ago),

So basically when you pay via the site, your account details gets automatically updated. Next time when you start LFS, click your name on the start screen, I think it will read "Demo Licence: NewAssult", and it will take you to the Username and password screen. Simply enter your licence name "NewAssult" and the GAME Password and click unlock (you will need an internet connection to unlock) and then you willl get the Welcome to LFS S2 (or S1) screen.

Hope you see on track!

Thank you for your reply

One last question about this how do I get the unlock code after I've paid? By mail or something? And does it make any difference if my login on www.lfs.net is the same as my login in game?

Actually I got one more request to this

What exactly happens when I buy S2? After I've filled out the necesserry card informations, do I have to type in my mail adress for the S2 unlock to be send as a code or something?

S2 License question

So....Later today, or later this week^^
I'm going to buy a S2 license after having so much fun in the slow demo cars
But then I was wondering about playing online....Me and a couple of friends are racing on the same level, and having great fun on the demo track(Blackwood) If I get a S2 license, can I still join them in the demo servers? in other words: can I still join demo servers? / will they display at all?

Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I had some trouble finding a suitable place for it

Quote from Jarppe :I use it with brake bias. You can set two commands on that button. I set left arrow to the other and right to the other. And so it changes brake bias (when pit instructions arent displayed). Use Logitech Profiler for that

I just tried ..but I can't seem t figure out how to make the red button OR the "+/-" button to work with brake bias ? :O

remember, I want to be able to adjust it while driving on the track

I knew it was possible! definatly worth looking into now!

So...I've heard alot of rumors about the DFGT wich I've just bought earlier this weak, and some of them included that the red button that seems ideal for brake bias % won't work on PC, since the DFGT was made for PS3...Alot of updates have now come for the DFGT, and the red button actually works as it should in all games I've tried it..So here's my question, since there's no specific button for the brake bias % in the controls settings, isn't there any way I can use this ideal brake bias button in LFS?

If not, is there anything else quite usefull I can set it to? :P
Right now I'm using it to zoom in and out, but I never use that function, because I've already set my view settings as I'd prefer them(Zoom in/out was just for testing)

Would appreciate info

Quote from TehPaws3D :653 Laps (At the time of counting) Is not enough to learn a track.. But you do seem a little slower than most.. mainly tinker with the gear ratios and raise/lower stuff as necessary. Glad I could help

Considering that my wheel isn't the best, and that the first 200-300 rounds was just messing around with some random setups :P mainly the default one..^^

I just finished testing the stuff you wrote here, and I must say...thank you^^
The rest of my problems is just to hit all the turns just right, but that'll come with experience I guess

I will! Today is my day off, just got very little paper work, then I can start testing the setup

Quote from TehPaws3D :
  • Decrease front rebound damping
  • Higher front wing downforce (If your tires seem okay already)
  • Lower rear downforce if the car is seriously understeering (I'm talking, barely steering)
  • If it's very bad use FWD tactics to keep the front in line (Handbrake, Clutch)
  • Use all possible track (Kurb to kurb)
  • Decrease front tire pressure
Try all those, Also note that proper camber will help you out too, You will have to test this out.. Or I will give you my set that I used.

Also, R3's are to much for blackwood unless the only options are R2 R3 R4, If in that case, For five laps, Use R1 with a soft suspension and a little more air pressure to fight the graining and you should be setting some fast ass laps.

This is great! thank you, Damn I'm learning new stuff today :O

I'll test this ASAP

Quote from J@tko :Other way around - R1 is the softest and R3 is the hardest, so putting R1s on the front would help.

Ahhh!....Sorry for all my noob questions regarding setting up the fbm^^

thank you for replying

Alright, The only problem I got now, is the heavy understeering...I have to brake waaay too much in certain corners, and that causes my lap times to bounce alot...even the slowest car catches up to me in some turns.

Can you guys post some solutions against understeering?

I got a bit of a theory here, I'm using R2 tyres in the front, and R1 in the back, I don't have the time to test it atm...But wouldn't it give me more grip and less understeer if I changed the front tyres to R3?

Quote from MAGGOT :I haven't looked at the FBM's mapping, but if it was done the same as the newer XR and XF interiors, then probably not. (By which I mean they use a tiled texture). However, if it is a simgle texture applied across the whole wheel, then yes, it is possible. Takes some skill and much time to look realistic, though.

Thinking about it that way, I think it acutally is possible, by accident i tried to add a g25 skin to the XFG's steering wheel, but I enden up with the FBM's steering wheel all coloured up like a g25 wheel :P

Quote from Whiskey :you are only able to change the dds skin of the wheel, just the same as the suits

Oh, but is it possible to make a skin of a steering wheel, looking like a real one? not in shape, but just the skin
