Seems like Brawn does have some issues with their car in the wet.

I wish BBC can partner Brundle with Davidson.

Quote from hyntty :If I recall correctly, even with traction control Kimi was had one of the smoothest right foots.... err..

At the time it was compared to Montoya, who just left everything to the TC.

ive read it somewhere Kimi was off the pace at the start of 2007 was because Ferrari's TC system was too advanced and aggressive compare to the old one he had in McLaren. He only gotten faster after ferrari turn the TC system down a bit.

Rubens suffered with a similar problem when he first joined Honda. He said the TC system of the Honda is a lot less effective than the one he had in Ferrari. He said he had to be a lot more gentle with the throttle while in the Ferrari days he could just floor the throttle in the middle of the corner and let the TC sort it out for him.

I really hope Button would win the race just to shut those people up who said he is not good enough.

just one question, is Loeb really THAT good than the other drivers or is it just the C3 is that much better than the other cars?

i know this isn't related to the topic of this thread but this is the only active WRC thread on this forum and my question isn't worth a new thread.

thanks

Quote from evilpimp :Alonso goes faster then the Brawn .

Pos Driver Team Time Laps
1. Alonso Renault (B) 1:18.343 99
2. Barrichello Brawn-Mercedes (B) 1:18.398 62
3. Button Brawn-Mercedes (B) 1:18.892 12
4. Hamilton McLaren-Mercedes (B) 1:19.513 85
5. Rosberg Williams-Toyota (B) 1:19.783 123

In the Brawn's defence, they did do less laps but Alonso managed to match their pace. McLaren still seems to be failing though heh.

Barrichello did his fastest lap on the third lap of a 9-lap stint (and his first lap of that stint is only one tenth slower than his fastest lap) while Alonso did that fastest lap on his second lap on a 2-lap stint.

the betting odds of Button winning the Australian GP has dropped to 7/2, compared to the 100-1 earlier this week, or even 66-1 a few days ago.

Quote from 5haz :
Brawn are doing ok, but Buttons on a light load to be setting times like that, I think they're trying to show off to attract sponsors while the rest of the grid is taking things a little easier.

I would laugh so much if it turns out Brawn really are on the race pace in Australia, but I doubt it very muchly.

People said BGP was doing glory laps when the car was lapping in the low 1:21 in the first day of testing.
People said BGP was doing glory laps when the car was lapping in the high 1:20.
People are still saying BGP was doing glory laps to attract sponsors when the car is lapping in the low 1:19, 1s faster than everyone else.

but when Ferrari/McLaren are running on fumes posting fast lap times people say they are sending out a clear message. but when brawnGP did a quick lap people say they are doing glory laps to attract sponsors.

Brawn has already said he has enough funds to finish 2009 season. They need long term sponsors not short term. But glory laps don't help attracting long term sponsors.

according to sources on RHF1: (im simply copying and pasting what they said over there, since i assume most of you don't go to that site.)

- The team will be racing in 2009
- the announcement will be made today in Japan
- Drivers are Button and Barrichello.
- The team will pay for Barrichello's expenses, and point bonuses at the end of the season.
- Button has signed a one-year deal with the team, to Button's advantage.
- "Most of the jobs will be kept" (this came from an employee that worked in the team whom were in the team meeting with the whole team on thursday night.)
- The colour of the car will be blue, and a bit of white and red.
- However the car will not have the sponsor's logo on the car next week at testing.
- The team will unveil the car's official livery on thursday before Friday practice at Melb.
- Mike (thats right im disappointed too as huge fan of the team and Button) will joining the team.
- The team will be called Brawn GP
- The car will be running on Merc Engine and KERS
- Nick will stay
- The team has based the chassis around not having a KERS system. So the team prob won't have a KERS equipped car until mid season.
- "As i've previously said, the new lead sponsor will be a big suprise, and is a major coop for the management, especially for a brand new team. A lot of people will be shocked. However, to clinch the deal, the first year they have been given a smashing deal to get their logos on the car whilst we are effectivly subsidised by Honda. Should they be happy with the exposure, there is the option to continue into year two at the full going rate."

Quote from BlueFlame :So let me get this right, they've managed to develop a 2009 car with no funding and before being bought out? Who was paying for the development? Is that the just the car that Honda WOULD have used if they had stayed?

Honda has been continue funding the team til Feb/March. So develop continues in the factory.
