forza may be dumbed down, but it’s still a pretty accurate drive. especially once you turn all the aids off.
Stick a new to sims person on a wheel in even a moderately powered car with aids off and they will be off the track.

It’s all well and good having a ‘realistic’ sim, but when your very basic physics behind the tire model are flawed its worse than a dumbed down accurate model.

And i did try hard to get friends to play, we all race karts and do motorkhana, hill climbs and other motorsport so i wanted to race when no real racing was on.
None of them like lfs, all of them feel something is not right. It’s so close to being right but that slight uneasy feeling you get suddenly feels like a massive problem.

Forza is accurate to how a car should feel when on the limit and beyond. And like i said, dumbed down and accurate is better than a flawed simulation.

the complexity of the problem is the issue, whatever model is being used for the tires something is flawed, maybe something simple, but its a problem and most of the reason i dont drive lfs anymore. imho i'd settle for the appearance of realism as in forza than a flawed attempt, however close, to emulating accurate tire physics.

i'll come back in another 500 posts and see if we have news.

anyway, i moved about the same time as scawen, into a brand spankers new house. well now the whole house has wood floors, its fully painted, blinds are in, theatre room just needs the screen done, gardens are 90% complete including swings and trampoline for the kids, while doing all that my business has doubled in size, bought out another business, got a $100,000 dollar loan for new equipment, hired 3 new staff members and i'm currently working on acquiring a new franchise for half a million dollars, on a side note i'm 60k short if anyone has some spare cash.

and in that time lfs has progressed to where? hmm.
you guys need a plan, without one.., well without one you guys get exactly where you are now.

thats the one, track surface detail was awesome, you can see the car hit bumps and dips. not the snooker table smooth tracks we have now.

it may never have been released but just from the videos we can see that what we have with lfs now is still not close, apart from the silence and delay.

its almost reminicient of the west-racing glory days, ahhh, the good ole days of empty promises and missed deadlines.


oh my god, i just had a brilliant idea, how about you employ them. then we will know to expect stuff all on a regular basis.
Do you have a cat yet? and a webcam. important pieces if you want to emulate the masters of nothing.

i don't think hes referring to anything grinding to a halt, but the mere ability to take 2 months off to move house.

i also run my own business and i've moved house twice this year. the last time into a brand new house with nothing, no flooring, no paint on the walls, no garden, zip narda nill. and i moved in a weekend. it did also take me 2 months to get a net connection. but guess what, its called technology and i got around not having an actual physical cable to the house by other means.

fell free to be a typical fanboi and jump and down a rave when someone makes a valid critisim.
