Are you really bitching about something, which looks like you can not comprehend, was stating facts? Thats lame.
Kubica was driving in unbalanced as hell car, because the team was working for Nick due to his medicore driving, for several GP's.
All this mistakes made by mechanics to Robert's car, Jesus it seems not accidental now...
IMO you can only win on the track, not off the track cutting corners.
Lewis wasn't pushed-off, he decided to go that way, but as I wroted previously, it was very comfortable move: "I failed at this overtaking, so I'll put myslelf to same situation before next corner, and try again, without silly braking and loosing distance, yay!"
I think while Kimi had such troubles, Hamilton should be ready for his mistakes (like off the track, spin out and crash later) Damn, in this conditions they should drive like there was You + 20 Nakajimas on track!
But Lewis decided to took Kimi by outside. Kimi went wide, which was very predictible, and Lewis went on full throttle through short-cut. He was just behind Kimi before that corner, but after avoiding contact and without speeding through short-cut, he would not. And this is IMO advantage which he gained. It was very comfortable move for Lewis.
On the other side, action with Massa and Kubica in Japan... they were both involved in the fight with cutting corners and pushing off. Maybe they both should be penalised but no one was gaining anything until straight.
On 'straight-off the track' Massa pushed hard and gone without penalty, so 'Ferrari I... A...' makes sense,
but hey, where are "Hamilton the children of FIA" voices now?
Once FIA bless You, once someone else...
Not good, but what we can do?
"I'll stop whatching F1 races!" ? Oh come on
Interesting things are going on in BMW Sauber team.
After 2nd pitstop Robert Kubica lost 2 positions from 5th to 7th for Vettel(?) and N. Heidfeld. It was 12 seconds fuel pumping for 11 laps...
After that, Nick got inters and finished 3rd. Grats for himself.
In the interview Kubica was really pissed off:
- What happened in pits?
- I don't know what happened, ask the team.
And then:
- I think it is time for team to help me too, because last 3, 4 months was helping Nicks results.
Not really good words...
not wanted by Sauber team either, I think.
Later he stated that he couldn't change tires to inters, because he would lost a bunch of time in queue in pits after Nick.
And the point was, if fueling wasn't feekad up (or well done...), he would change to inters first and... well, think yourself - Nick was 7th, finished 3rd on inters. Kubica was 5th, finished 6th on hards, so how would results look like without this freak fueling action in pits?
For some weeks there is major change in Robert's attitude about his future in Sauber team. Now I know why.
I think BMW Sauber HAD a good driver.
No tweak. Just deafault or race_s setup with restriction. Wind was probably on. Your explanation, Android, seems right. So gearbox kick should be stronger, or ignition cut longer?
Once I had problems with Formula V8 changing gears from 4 to 5, and maybe 5 to 6. It was caused by intake restriction (20-30% maybe) I believe.
Had to try several times or throttle lift manualy. Can't try it now at work.
Maybe changing the placement of shift light would help? Anyway after replacing the 'einstein of torque' type of shift light by rpm shift light it will become just a place where you look 1 second before it lights up, to change gear with more precisson - IMHO.
Bug on purpose?:
Animation of switching hands while turning the wheel has changed?
Now it is no more realistic. You catch the wheel at 12 o'clock, not at 3 or 4.
It looks like woman style of turning, as in some pre S1 versions, with woman driver model.
I was wondering what's the hidden message for some minutes hehe, "posiadał" is kind of word "had" (doh, this kind is 'own') used by grandpa when he say: 'He had a car.'
I can't find any word like 'owned' in polish, which you like to use in public places . And they are even not close to meaning of 'owned'...
I had to wait until 0:10 for repeat of race because of some rubish Poland - Germany game, in which we were owned. I decided to not read any sms and turn the radio off to isolate me from any information from Canadian GP. And I had one boring CD in car for a 2h way! I called home to tell them not telling me any word about race. Then everything collapsed, because GF called me with strange laugh and wanted to TELL me. Disconnect and sms ban for her immediately.
Maybe his engine exploded? Maybe he was taken out in T1 crash? Or maybe he is 2nd or 3rd?
It was painfull waiting, but the result was hell priceless! Go go Robert
Too bad for Kimi, he lost a podium for sure.
Someone should hack a paddock - hamiltons_helmet radio connection and put there:
"...iteration 3 6 2 7: RACE-IS-NOT-HOTLAPPING-SESSION..."
This is 3,0l biturbo petrol engine.
It has one small turbo for each 3 cylinders.
The power gain from the NA engine i something like ~30bhp so BMW didn't go for extreme power yet and it may be easy to get even 400bhp from it, but.. while I don't really believe to more economical aspect, I do really believe that there is +100% chance of massive failure and engine will RIP in 1/2 kilometres driven.
Sorry for this word. I was going to write motorisation. Cars, exactly. As for bike expierence, I had a Honda scooter when I was 11yo. Was some fun, but 40km/h couldn't make from me a Valentino Rossi
No, I think that 'you know that Germans can't do comfortable sits'.
Sorry to hear. You must know more 'strange' drivers than me. Could you describe some of those accidents?
ps. it is not easy to make simple sentences in some topics, but I'll try.
I wonder why stupid people like you are allowed out of your room? Where have I stated that I can't use a handbrake? I think you'll find I'm stating that 'the public at large' can't be trusted to use a handbrake in emergency situation, and as such it should not (unless electronically modulated like in the aforementioned german box of crap (Audi)) be referred to as an e-brake. This forum, and most car forums, are probably full of people who have successfully managed to slow a car in such a case, but that doesn't mean that everyone can or would. Hell, I bet most people wouldn't think of using the handbrake at all, let alone pump pedals etc.
Whilst I have no need of a handbrake to go fast, do be aware that the 'rules' of driving change on loose surfaces. Whilst modern computerised girly WRC doesn't interest me, I've done a rally course thingy, and I enjoy off-roading at speed when I can. But anyone can experience that, not everyone can drive a slicks and wings car.
Also, regarding your little childish spat at the end of your post, I have never claimed to either be great at driving, nor have I claimed that my opinions on matters are fact. I don't like FWD as they are dynamically flawed and solely designed for shopping. I do like more cars with less than 500hp than with more, but not when they have TC. Please get your facts straights if you want to look a bit clever.
The fact I don't believe bedtime stories about God or Jesus means that bit wasn't very effective, and you've stated a fact that 7 billion Americans (not just North) are stupid.
Good day to you. I look forward to your reports of your racing experi... oh wait, you're jealous.
To face with your statements I wrote 3 situations of, not so rare, brake failures. People in heavy panic don't bother about handbrake, while people which think about them are calm enough to use them properly. This are just 3 examples from my own experience, but I have not seen or heard of someone who pulled handbrake in panic and crashed. Have you?
People who cares about safety in car companies, are smart enough to see a supposed problem with emergency handbrakes. I think due to lots, lots of test they allow to mount even emergency brake in form of pedal as safe mechanism. That's why your statements may be wrong. You have imagined people behaviour, where specialist without big lack of knowledge, like mine or yours, worked out a good and safe emergency brake. It's placed in the right place, it has right colour, it is right shaped, it has right power etc.
It is hard to discuss with someone who fit one (just one word, nothing else!) negative opinion to all products of big company, just because seat of one wasn't compatible with your butts preferences. Wait, it was opinion about whole nation.
While real men in rally cars uses handbrake at tarmac also, I wonder if 'you sitting in race car' is intercession or consequence of you not using handbrake? Handbrake phobia? You have never claimed that you are a great driver. Instead you claim how untalented and crappy driver you are, being the 'elite' open wheeler driver in the same time, very modest manner from you. Later you wrote how genius you owned more power full car or something, but let's not look for something opposite to your states between words.
You've misread the part of 7 billions stupid Americans. It was my think-aloud how you see a world, in my opinion based on specific part of your posts here. I wrote about 7 billion (milliard) people and that part of them which walk on North America deserves a special offensive (including opposite statement of course) tone from you. It's about 430mln people.
Putting offensive bit to every preference or just situation independent of people will, which is different from yours, THIS is childish. It suits 7-8 year boy, as well as calling me stupid because I drilled your words and statements a bit.
Now get ready Shotglass, you can quote me in sig, so Tristan will let you use better avatar of his car. But nothing more, notty notty, he is not a single now.
I'm jealous of Tristan being a race driver. Piece of luck for me I can manage this common emotion in a right way. Although I have a personal success with moto rivalry, I will definitely not report it to you.
Once, my friend had total brake failure. Pedal in the floor - zero brakes. It was emergency situation. He used emergency handbrake and stopped the car without mad spinning or hitting any tree.
His brothers' brakes were fading strongly, so he helped himself with emergency handbrake to drive safely through rush-hour stop-go.
I had servo failure and it wasn't so easy to brake. It was ver very bad (and this is normal because new cars are made to work with servo, not without. Only in old cars, witch are 700kg lighter than new cars, you would brake with broken servo. Also notice that servo failure gave me an extra mechanical discomfort when braking, not only power-loose!) . Later it was fixed but not very well, and I noticed it 3 months later when I hit a drunk man, and police was asking me why only one wheel was locked (no ABS). And guess what? Surprisingly I didn't pull handbrake in panic. I just hit the brake to the floor in panic.
It seems like Tristan couldn't manage to operate handbrake to use it in snowy conditions or do a handbrake turn. Only spinning in panic and fell of the clif to the sea or something... Maybe that's why he turned to formula track racing (with all this girly slicks and wings and silly wide perfect safe track that won't allow to crash or loose control, even if you want to), not to real man motorsport: rally, where there is need to use handbrake to be faster.
You, guys from US must know, that in the first place is God Tristan, then God with Jesus and Maria, later of course Chuck Norris and then: 7 billions of fools; where fools on the North America continent are twice fools. Oh there are also a few girls on the track behind Tristan, or on streets in hatchbacks, FWD cars, and all vehicles with ABS, ESP and below 500bhp. All are girls.

Reason : now I know that links to pic on my hdd doesn't work ;)
Hmmm, most race engines I've built or read about use a slightly runnier oil, with more anti-friction additives...
It is normal because they don't need e.c. anti-corrosion elements, but how much forced were those engines? 150hp per litre?
YOu mean oversquare, right? I think most diesels are longer stroke, but I'm not sure.
I mean stroke>bore. You can be sure (and you are (I'm sure)) that most diesels are longer stroke. Some petrols too.
They are fairly well linked. To produce more power you lower the friction and losses in the engine. Higher output (for a given engine) = lower engine braking. Comparing a 1.3l hatchback engine to an F1 engine isn't fair. You have to compare 1.3standard with 1.3 tuned.
If I have +10% losses in compression cyl. and +20% power in bang cyl. from increasing engine compression I'll buy it. (quick though: maybe that's why engines with turbo have lower comp. rato. It lowers losses and multiplies power in bang cylinder.)
I said that F1 engine is extreme example. I don;t know, maybe american 4.0 V8 200bhp and bmw m3 4.0(?) V8 420bhp is good comparision. I don;t have lift-off g-metering for both unfortunately.
I didn't understand that sentence. Could you quote a source for this info. The +1g lift off braking figures are for high speed conditions, not low speed conditions. Read any report on F1 braking performance and it will mention that 1g of the decelleration from high speed is caused by aero.
The source is recycled to toiled paprer I think. Please try these steps by your own in LFS:
- reduce EngineBrakeReduction to 0%
- drive in first gear to redline.
- lift-off and look at G-meter. Over 1G for a moment.
But then you're traveling at ~140km/h (race_s) so aero drag may have deal. So change gearing of 1st gear to level in which you rich redline at 50-60km/h and do the same. Engine care less about friction and tires are rotating as engine wish to. Tires are not locked but rotatating much slower then they should and producing tire marks on the ground. That's force from tuned car.
I doubt the F1 cars have more engine braking (measured in torque at the flywheel - ignore gearing as that skews the conversation) than a 350hp 2.4 V8 road engine does, simply because that's not how engines work.
Hehe, ingore the gearing Ok, I'm not sure too, but if you have engine with higher compression and it have compress the mixuture by 5cm stroke and 8cm bore you have to put more power. Pretty more. There is a help, because 5cm stroke engine has shorter cranked crankshaft, so less force is needed. But is it the same too road going engine? Dunno. But for sure, gearing is changing this forces. So maybe engines do not differ so much about lift-off brake-power, but gearing do. For example F1 car have 6th gear in the same ratio (engine rmp to vehicle speed) as most road cars has 2nd. If you prepare car for racing you also change gearing to use additional revs and hp.
Normal roads in the city have 50km/h restrictions. This kind of roads with 2 or 3 lanes have something between 60-80km/h (so people drive 80-120km/h) but after the surface fluctuated somehow and somebody crashed on this 'sea waves' they put there 50km/h limit.
From comments in the net there are some big pipes underground and it's not as easy to fix as somewhere else. But sooner or later they will had to, right? So it's just stupidity of government.
On other side it is hard to believe to that restrictions in some places. Here it is because there is really a danger, but as quick example, near my city the road is straght and very good but there is 50km/h limit instead of 90km/h too. Why? Because some years ago a VIP died there when truck hit his rear.
Here is the place of that crash. You can click the map to play with it or switch to satelite.
A street was closed for investigation purpouse. They even don't know for 100% who was a driver, it was so smashed.
The passenger was alive after crash too. He even screamed for help but fire was too big...
The place is very dangerous. Some time ago young man killed himself there the same way. And when his friends came there to fire a light for him, another car hit them, so one or both were killed.
That's what is going to happen if you swear about this 'stupid 50km/h restriction on this great wide road'. One bump on this road was too big for several people.
On 27.02.2008 at 22:00 Maciej Zientarski (tv motorisation journalist) was driving probably borrowed Ferrari 360 Modena.
At over 200km/h he jumped from a big 'bump' on the road and hitted a concrete pillar.
A passenger, a friend of him (press motorisation journalist), Jarosław Zabiega burned alive. Maciej is in hospital after several operations, still unqonscious and heavily injured.
