For this week only join The tour of the great Aston Raceway. Located in the middle of England, it has several longer and shorter configurations within a nice countryside setting full of forest and light hills. The 6 configurations this week include the one of the longest layouts in LFS with Aston Grand Prix and also some of the shorter circuits of Aston Cadet & Aston Club, with some altitude changes throughout the combos and a great chicane including Eau Rouge, there are ingredients to this great racetrack which should give you some great wheel to wheel battles. You will also notice the Aston Historic layout which can provide great racing in both the FO8 & BF1.
Next week we will see a combination of the Kyoto ring circuit which will bring these fast open wheel cars to the top of the rev range along the amazing Oval section of the ring. More to come soon...
100 Points rewarded for the race winner!
Please note: This server is just a personal project of mine to see if i can bring some racing life back into these incredible cars and not to take things too seriously. It's open to all and a max of 24 cars on grid should not cluster the track too much. Please feel free to check it out!
Have you tried downloading the latest driver from the Logitech website? The one that come with the wheel is probably out of date.
I had this wheel for almost 2 years without many problems. Just be careful of the 4 screws holding the wheel to the motor if you have the FFB set too high as they can come lose and you have to super glue them back.
I quite like the no shift lights but some cars need to bounce of the limiter, you know when it goes dudududdudududud at 8500rpm or something. sorry for the lame explanation, it's too early for me
Not sure if this is the right place but since i've had my new monitor (46" Samsung) there has been a bit of a glitch in the F9 tyre info. It seems the top part of the tyre wear indicator is overlapped with the tyre to road contact info. i'm using Z22 atm.
I've attached a pic to explain. It's not a massive problem but it is good to see how the tyres are wearing which i can't see now.
I'm using HDMI to DVI-D
Resolution is at 1920x1080 @ 60hertz
I used to be addicted to CTRA SS Servers. Since it closed it has open the doors for many other types of racing for me - leagues/pickup racing/different combos etc.
It was a good system when it worked but highly addictive. Going cold turkey was a good thing tbh.
Lucky you! It's probably the adapter that makes it work somehow. The only sound i got was some clicking noises like a phone was too close to the speakers. but after i got the other audio cable all was fine. It all works just how i want it too
What happens is that once you connect the HDMI cable to the TV from the PC, the TV thinks that it sould be receiving sound through the HDMI. but as the PC (VGA/DVI) don't carry sound, you have to set the TV to let it know that sound is coming from somewhere else.
With the samsung, you have to change the source name to DVI PC and then it knows to get sound from the 3.5mm port and not the HDMI.
Well, at first i tried phono to 3.5mmjack cable and didn't work, then i got a 3.5 to 3.5jack cable and slotted into the DVI audio in on the back of the TV to the green slot at the back of the pc and viola it worked. I think you may have to set up the audio output in the pc control centre thingy...
Edit: While i'm at it, is there anything esle i'm missing? I'm still having to run audio through the PC I'm going Maplins again tonight for a Phono to Phono cable for the pc to the "DVI Audio input" plug in back of the TV - Hopefully this will allow sound (in stereo) to come from the 5.1 Surround wired in the the TV output yeah?
I had a bit of a brainstorm yesterday and went Maplin for a DVI to HDMI cable and WOW! I'm pretty pleased with the result. There was some kind of lag from the old wire that was causing the snappy effects. I didn't realise that it was a bit blocky/laggy until i swapped them back to compare the difference. Also there was some kind of shadow coming from the old wire which the new one sorted out. so the result is that the snappyness (if that's a word) had gone!!!
Anyways, i had to fiddle with the views again after resetting the resolution to the highest and thinking about the Steering wheel sizes mentioned earlier worked out that 120 FOV is the best for a 47 inch screen. I have put all my wheel setting back to what thay was with the 22" too!!
Also, with the new HDMI leads, i have a lot more settings to play around with in the LFS Graphics section. Woohoo!
