My G27 was only 3-4cm vertical, I removed part of the clamp due to tight space.

Anyway, who said the G27 shifter is poorly made? A lot of people I know who have fanatecs prefer the G27 shifter by a bit over the standard fanatec shifter.

The G27 pedals are good actually, the clubsports are one of the very few sets that are better.

The G27 wheel I had before it was sent back due to abnormal heat issues had a pretty rough ffb to it, my friend with the gt3 rs v1 said that the wheel is very smooth, and quietish.

He also said that he felt like the gt3 was easy to break, like that worry in your mind that it's not sturdy like the G27.

I haven't owned any fanatec wheels, so I can only take his word.

I've also heard that the Fanatec has a nice feel, smooth and is compatible with many games.

Keep in mind that the CSR wheels are being released within a couple of weeks, and those are the reeeaaaaallllly good ones.

I didn't care for my G27, the leather felt fake and cheap, it peeled off too. Apparently that was unusual for the wheel but whatever.

The closest competitor of the G27 is the GT3 RS V2.

Stats:
Fanatec GT3 RS V2:
$179.95USD
Just the wheel, nothing else
Smooth
Feels good to use
On the go settings
Wheel vibrators
Porsche badge
14 buttons

Doesn't feel nearly as sturdy, fragile.
Some compatibility issues.
Some quality control issues (rare-ish)

Clubsport Edition:
$329.95USD
Includes:
-GT3 RS V2 wheel
-Standard shifter set
-Clubsport Pedals
Shifter is loud, clacky, strong, not that good
Shifter mounted to wheel via metal bars
Pedals: Load cell brake
-Feels incredible
-sturdy
-realistic
-ABS function

Logitech G27:
$299USD
Includes wheel, shifter, pedals
Wheel:
-Good mounting, hard or clamp
-Silent ish FFB, only noticed if you use quiet audio like me
-^-I actually noticed the noise of this wheel when I use my noise canceling Bose headphones with the volume rather high.
-Proven performer
-Excellent customer service
-Shifter is pretty good, putting Velcro around the internal shiftgate improves it a lot
-Pedals are very good, carpet grip is a joke.

Anything else?

Also, I wouldn't go by Bose321's opinion alone, he has a habit of being a bit biased with minimal proof. (Oh that Intel vs AMD chat was hilarious...)
He does have good facts about the Fanatec though.
Nothing against you, Bose.

I would reccomend ether wheel depending on what you want, it's a matter of personal preference.

Windows 7 SP1 64-bit
iPod Touch Gen4, with outdated iOS, the high res screen one

Three words about this program--

Lags Like Hell. Also, can't adjust it per car... stuck in km/h and only up to 8000rpm and 240km/h

I'm pretty sure there's a night mod (if you would like to try it) buried somewhere around on this forum, I have tested it and it's works decently.

Would be a cool idea though to have dynamic weather.

I have mine set-up like that on my G27, but it creates a lot of ingame lag (30 fps o_O) and i would not be able to handle fraps recording with that.

Lmao TehPaws3D.

I was shocked to see this too, but the only thing I kept focusing on was if he was using a G27 or G25... o_O

Yes, I have that fullscreen issue too, I haven't tested it much after that issue because I couldn't see the outgauge (and I have it set up literally behind my g27's wheel itself, like a real dashboard). Touch4 here ._.

it only takes up a quarter of the screen, so I can barely see it, even when it's mounted on my wheel... I think you should have to resized much larger for iDisplay users because the screen is probably adjusted to my main monitor's resoloution (1366x768)

IN other words, the out gauge takes up a quarter of my monitor, and a squarter of my ipod.

I'm about to test it now, got back to my computer.

Edit: The oougauge does not fit my Touch4's screen, only partially. (*yes I pressed S)

Edit2: I have idisplay too

In my opinion, you get more out of LFS for what you pay for compared to iRacing.

Quote from Ball Bearing Turbo :The whole thread is off topic anyway.

You're being silly. If a game is a "drift sim" then it would have to be simulating real life physics, in order to simulate drifting accurately, right? Same thing with what you sadly refer to as "grip racing" - to simulate it properly you'd want real life physics to be replicated as closely as possible.

Note that the requirements are the same.

Drifting is easier in LFS because it happens to be one activity that highlights some of LFS' flaws, that's all. Also the setups in LFS are not limited like they are in iRacing and it's easier to make a setup conducive to drifting.

Yes, that is a flaw in LFS, you can easily make a different version of the car (ie: UF2) unlike iRacing. I tested my brother's iRacing commentator license with my G27 (sadly limited to 200degrees) and the physics are impressive.

I'm satisfied with my LFS license anyway.

Quote from E.Reiljans :Why would you want more than 275W PSU with 65W CPU and 70W GPU? That together makes just 135 watts, leaving 140W for HDDs and stuff.

It's a 350w gpu.

I honestly think that a dfgt or a dfp with a joystick would be your best bet. In my area there are some leftover dfp's for only $50 and joysticks shouldn't be more than $25. There are some joystick programs out there that can use ffb on ffb joysticks to simulate a 5 speed + reverse shifter. Then you can use the wheel's built in shifter as a handbrake and there ya go.

Just tossing around some ideas.

Time to get this thread back on topic haha

This is basically a cheap desktop from the retail store XD

Windows 7 64-bit home premium
4GB ddr2 ram 666mhz
Pentium dual core E5300 2.66ghz
Xfx geforce gt 240 1 gb ddr5 (upgrade)
Stock 275w psu (fail I know)
750gb 5400rpm sata hdd (full)
Harmon kardon speakers from years ago
Logitech g27 tonpair nicely with it

After only a year and a half of owning it, I am adding a second hard drive, new processor and new psu. Any recommendations?

Bt sorryfor odd spelling, iPod touch at the moment

:wow:

This looks insane.

Now I hope it doesn't suck as much as the original Shift.

Infact, I haven't bought a NFS game since Prostreet.
Good times.

Yeah, and this morning when I booted up my PC it downloaded the drivers and I canceled it.

Like I said, the problem HAS BEEN SOLVED.
