I have a pair of Astro A40s that I use for my xbox 360 hooked up thru toslink. It has a MP3 input in the back of the mixamp that I have my PC hooked up to that so I can here skype and stuff while Im gaming. I have a little issue with that though. Im pretty sure you cant get 7.1 out of a mp3 cable but the mixamp does it. The issue is that when I have the 3.5mm cable in the rear input I only get stereo in the Realtek test. When I have it in the front Im able to hear all 7 channels (expect bass). Anyone know why this is?

edit: if your PSU's fan is facing downwards, and your PSU is on the bottom of your case it might be good to have some clearance indeed. My PSU also is on the bottom, but I have around 1-2CM gap from the ground. Maybe it's worth checking the fan of your PSU for dust.

Wait what? My PSU is mounted on the bottom with the fan facing up... Is it supposed to be facing down? I thought that would overheat it...

I do alot of video editing with Sony Vegas and AAE so I guess I'll upgrade to 64bit Will be done later.

I have Win7 Ultimate 32bit installed on my PC now. I got a new HDD today and was gonna install my OS when I was thinking about something, Will a 64bit OS make a difference over a 32bit OS. There both Win7 Ultimate. This is my setup.

PSU: Thermaltake TR2 RX 750W
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 250gb
MB: GIGABYTE GA-MA78LMT-S2 AM3
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition 3.8ghz
RAM: 4gb 1333
GPU: GIGABYTE Radeon HD 5770 1GB

now in 32 you can only use like 3/4gbs of the ram but I have 4 so will it even make a difference?

I don't use it much for gaming. I use it for video editing but it runs LFS at MAX settings 200+fps and DiRT3 MAX settings at 55/60.
